The idea of the book was good but how it was written is not.
Example: I asked prospect B for a beer . The prospect reached into the cooler and got a bottle of beer. The prospect then sat it on the counter and got a bottle opener and opened the beer . He slid the beer to me and I got it. I picked up the beer and took a sip and sat it back down on the counter and then I picked it back up and took a full swallow and then sat it back down...
In other words it felt robotic. What I put above is not a word by word paragraph but an example of how it was written.
If you have trouble with triggers please read what they all are. Rape, incest, murder, over the top sex etc.

Needs to be written in the way people really speak.
I couldn't get past the fact it was written like my Jr High English teacher wrote it with precise English. It wasn't, (notice I "did not" say "was not") written the way any normal person speaks. Especially the way you'd think a biker would use the English language. It became unrealistic for me.

2.5⭐️. Loved the idea for the story but the writing was not very good. For me it read like a school essay. Very difficult to get into the flow of the story.
I love the RB’s and how their stories interconnect in some way. I will definitely continue with the RBMC series but maybe not this chapter.

Familiar Taste of Poison is the 1st book in the Royal Bastards MC: Omaha, NE Chapter by Kristine Dugger. This is the 1st book that I've read of hers and it was a great start. She made the characters pull at your heartstrings and I love that. There was action, twists and turns, overprotectiveness, love, and revenge.
This book is about two broken people that are somehow perfect for each other no matter the circumstance. Sydnee is a club princess from a rival club who's suffered a terrible loss and is now being controlled by her brother who is the President of the Dirty Rejects MC and just wants to find an escape from him. Wreck is the enforcer for the Omaha chapter has also suffered a terrible loss and makes what he does for the club easier. Sydnee and Wreck meet outside of a bar and there's a connection between them instantly. Even when Wreck finds out who Sydnee is he still vows to do anything to protect her. I loved how two broken people found each other and began to heal as much as they could because of each other.
I gave this book a 4-star rating and a 4-spicy rating. This book is not for people easily triggered because it is full of them like Kristine Dugger warns us. I like these kinds of triggers though so the book worked great for me. There were a few errors hence the 4 stars but they didn't distract from the story. This book is a great start to a new chapter of the Royal Bastards MC and has me wanting to read more of Kristine Dugger's books. I can't wait to read the next one!

Wreck gives us a look into what his MC chapter is all about. Syndee shows that not all women are cherished when it comes to the MC clubs. This is one of the darker Royal Bastards MC stories. If you follow this series than you already know what to expect. But if this will be your first experience, know that this has strong themes that could be a trigger for some.
You will know almost right away who the hero of this tale is but in her own way Syndee is also a hero when you think of all that she had to endure. There’s a small hint of paranormal that could have you wondering who that person is. You may have to put on your Sherlock Holmes hat to find out. This is a story that once you start will be hard to put down.
Our author is smart and doesn’t reveal anything until she is ready. She knows right where to put something that is going to make you sit up and take notice and wonder what is going to happen next. This is not a book to try and guess what our characters are going to do. You have to let them be the storyteller. For my first book from this author, she made me sit up and take notice. Holy crack balls was this book a page turning experience. !! .
I read this book in one sitting it's now 6am I didn't realise i had read through the night.
I just need to point out that this book comes with triggers there is incest,abuse , and rape so be careful going in if the subject matter triggers you
Syndee.
That poor woman has been through hell and back . Her brother was an absolute nut case along with the bikers in the the Rejects that he belonged to .
Her life was a constant torment as was her best friend Mirna . Used and abused for years they both only had each other to rely on .
Wreck was the Enforcer for the Royal Bastards MC. Quiet content to sleep around he wasn't in a hurry to find an old lady and settle down. That was until he met Syndee . The author has given us an amazing start to the RBMC, Omaha, NE Chapter. But please take heed to the authors trigger warnings. While I found the book well written and certain situations handled very well, others might not. For me, the book has a thrilling, emotional, action packed storyline with characters you’ll come to love and root for, well the good guys you will (the evil ones you may still root for but for karma to have its way).
Wreck knew from an early age that he wanted to follow in his father’s footsteps and join the RBMC and now he is the Enforcer for the club. But meeting a curvy red-head, Sydnee, at a local bar may end up costing him everything he holds dear. You see, Sydnee is the property of a rival club - something he didn’t know at the time. But when he hears her story his protective instincts take over. But will his club brothers see it that way or will they force him to send her back after one magical night with her?
Outstanding read and this reader can’t wait for more from the Omaha chapter.

Familiar taste of poison (Royal bastards MC)
This book is part of the Royal Bastards MC series. This story follows the characters Syndee and Wreck, these two characters are just perfect for each other and are what both need to get their happy ever after. This book just sucks you into its pages and never lets you leave. This is a page-turner of a read from the first chapter to the very last one. This book has it all suspense, action, intrigue, humor, hot and steamy, and a dark side. This is a new author to me and I’ll definitely be going to look for more of their books in the future. This is an amazing addition to this series by this author.

This author is new to me and Familiar Taste Of Poison was a great introduction to her work. It's the first book for the Omaha, Ne. Chapter of the Royal Bastards MC. This book is dark and gritty so if that's not your thing then..... This is Wreck and Syndee's story and it's full of action, excitement, chaos, danger, twists and turns. Wreck is a member of RBMC and Syndee is club property and sister of the President of Dirty Rejects MC, a rival club. They meet while out at Dirty Jay's, a bar owned by Hell's Phoenix MC. The chemistry between these two is HOT to say the least. It's only when Wreck finds out where Syndee comes from that he realizes the trouble he brought to their club. Things get much, much worse for these two after that. The Royal Bastards series are always highly anticipated books for me and now I'm anxious for the next one for this Chapter. What a fantastic story!

What a way to start a new series!! This is the first book in the Omaha, NE Chapter of the RBMC. The author sucked me into the story, and I didn’t want it to end. I found myself invested in these 2 damaged/broken characters. I wanted them to find their chance at Happily Ever After or in a way that works for them. The author had me rooting for them and crying with them through out the story. Wrecker and Sydnee have smoking hot chemistry. Wrecker feels very protective of Sydnee from the beginning.

Dark, gritty, slightly twisted, and action packed. Page turner for sure. I think this first book in a new series is off to a running start. I liked the chemistry between Wreck and Sydnee too. I also liked how Wreck was protective of Sydnee and what lengths he went to for her. The h's story isn't the easiest in fact what she experienced was a tragedy. Then when you add in the H things for the h get interesting. I felt that this story was a tough ride, but no matter what the situations or the past was, that no matter what the chaos was, there is always a light on the other side. That was my perspective on things. Anywho this is an excellent read and if you wanna find out what this ones all about, how Wreck and Sydnee came to be, then I'd suggest reading this.

This is the first in a new series, and what an emotionally charged story this is. Sydee has a controlling brother, who thinks that she should be with one of the members of his MC. Wreck is the enforced from a rival MC, and when they meet in a bar, there is an intense attraction between them. When Wreck gets to hear about Sydee backstory, he will do whatever he must to protect and keep her safe. The chemistry between these two is sizzling and undeniable. This is a well written story which is dark, raw, gritty, intriguing, action packed, and tragic, with twists, emotions, revenge, and love, which leads to a riveting page turner.

This is a very dark read with lots of triggers and warnings. That does not take from the plot line. The characters are alpha men and the women they have chosen to spend their time and life with.
Wrecker and Sydnee come together out of the blue, but in the time they are together, they form an unlikely bond and that is hard to break.
When crap hits the fan and the club is under attack from Sydnee’s Brothers Club, it proves who are the top dogs of the area and who are the bottom feeders. The trouble comes and the club takes it on and comes out on top.
Wrecker and Sydnee finally have the time to learn about each other, and the bond that they share just gets deeper with each passing day.

Dark romance. I received a complimentary copy to leave an honest review. Part of the RBMC world, Wreck is the enforcer and one look he finds his lady. But the road to redemption for Syndee is a traumatic, abusive one, she and her best friend Mirna find hope in their rival MC, Royal B*stards. A lot of dark, incest, rape, and other abuse that triggers reading this story and the author does caution about these filters before reading. She isn’t kidding. Sick disgusting scenes that brings out righteous justice for the victims. However Wreck and Syndee do get their happy ever after just wow! What a gauntlet they endure!

There is much more to it but I'm not one for spoiling others enjoyment of finding out for themselves, it's good, very good.

It has action in it but I don't think that the name of the book is 4 the book at all. Jealousy is a bitch but 2 do sum of things that happened is fucked up. But sapphire didn't deserve 2 b caught up in shit that had nothing 2 do with her. how can a person say 1 thing and prevent things from happening but turn around and basically shit on it and try 2 think of only their selves and try 2 act like they didn't do anything wrong when they just destroyed everything!!? It flows ok but I feel like its missing a few things but I'm not sure what...

This story was good. My issue is with the actual writing. I get that most authors don't proofread once it goes to kindle. I know this because I have read over 300 kindle books, and most have grammatical errors. This book has lots. I don't get it. Some books are not so bad, others are so bad the book is unreadable. It's a shame because all have good storylines, plots, etc. This book is by far not the worst I have seen. But switching the name through out the story is a dead giveaway that kindle versions aren't looked at at all.

The author did a great job writting this story. It will make you sick, want revenge and keep you reading to the end to make sure that happens. There's danger, heat and abuse. May cause triggers for some. Sydnee's life has been nothing but lies and torture, along with her friend Mirna. They vow to get out somehow. This is where Wreck comes in and meets them at a neutral club. Get read for a ride, because things are about to get worse. HEA.

Sydnee's life wasnt her own under her brothers control but meeting Wreck is about to change her life. Wreck wasn't looking for much in life as an enforcer all he needed was his club, until Sydnee, but she belongs to their rivals, and when he hears of what she's been through hebwill do anything to protect her. Well written dark themes, the story draws you in and the characters hold your attention through emotions desires action and more!

A very unhappy life led Sydnee to find a way out. Her world collided with Wreck's world, and the connection was quick and hot. Danger followed, then war, then an HEA. There were very gritty incidents in this story, may trigger some people, but it brought out a protectiveness in Wreck. He was determined to keep Sydnee from harm, and she wanted a positive environment. I enjoyed the story.

Fantastic start!
This was a fantastic start of a new Royal Bastards MC Chapter! Wow! Be sure to listen to the trigger warnings at the beginning but then again, if you’re reading RBMC books, you should know. Sydnee and Wreck are the awesome staring couple in this book. My goodness do these 2 go through some stuff to get their HEA. Another couple parallels their adventure and learn of their HEA too. I’m looking forward to more adventures with this crew!

Family is Everything!
Family is everything, so when it is taken life spins around with nor direction. Wreck lost his mother, then his father. Sydney lost her father, then her mother. Two lives that cross path and start a new. Definitely recommend this book and author. I have not read anything from her before, but was pleasantly surprised. I only wished things weren’t rushed in parts of the storyline.

Wow, what a read. This book has everything needed to make a great read. It moves along at a pace which works perfectly for the flow of the story. The characters are amazing and you cannot help but love them no matter what happens and the story will grab you and keep you reading until the end and then you are needing more. This book is a must read there is no doubt about it.

Wreck and Sydnee a couple you love they are so strong one taste and they’re both hooked. Honestly, it was terrible. The writing, the storyline, the execution of the plot. From the beginning the FMC’s abuse was very prominent but as the story is unfolding it becomes more for shock value. The ending line? Quoting Ice Cube’s today was a good day? Like how does it even tie into the story? 🤷♀️

Conflicted but great read
This book was heartbreaking. Wrecks heartbreak in the beginning and then Sydnees.... that was hard to read but it made for a good book.
It was a little wordy at times with a few typos but I likes if a lot.
Highly recommended but be warned by Ms Dugger's trigger warnings. Loved reading about Angel too. He's one of my favorites. ❤❤

It was a little wordy at times with a few typos but I likes if a lot.
Highly recommended but be warned by Ms Dugger's trigger warnings. Loved reading about Angel too. He's one of my favorites. ❤❤

What a page turner I couldn’t put this book down it was so good. I loved everything from the chemistry to the plot to the unexpected turn of events.
Every royal bastards book sinks me into loving this motorcycle club just more and more!

This book is a good start for this author in the RBMC. Good characters and plot along with some good action and suspense. A few good twists and turns plus happiness. An enjoyable book.
