Mafia romance is my jam despite the fact that those delicious alpha men can certainly set me off, but in Bratva Angel, Aleks is divine & I fell for him immediately. There's something about his family that has me wishing hard I could be part of it despite the breaking of the law LOL, probably because they're so loyal & protective of each other. Heather is our heroine who has her stuff together & living her best life so when Aleks comes into the picture, it only gets better despite their best efforts to not give in to it. They're perfect for each other but he doesn't want to put a target on her back so I did want to shake him a time or two. The sparks are flying so they can't stay away from each other for long, and let me tell you, the heat they generate is top notch. Of course there are the twists coming in hot from his world which always makes me super happy so I was on the edge of my seat. I'm so grateful that I finally was introduced to the talented Sabine Barclay's work because I'll never go without her books again! HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

wonderful Bratva Romance 🥰
Oh yeah this is book 5 in a Bratva Romance series that I have been reading, each volume is fairly standard alone, but I think they really ought to be read in order because they are connected and they share a set of characters. This book like the others in the series has a lot of smutty scenes as well as a lot of action and danger. This particular book has a main female character who is a teacher and I really liked her character. Also there is a very nice HEA at the end.

This is part of The Ivankov Brotherhood series each can be read as a standalone each with a ruthless sexy and the women who captures his full attention on buckle up this is a wild ride, dangerous men, alpha’s personified, possessive, oh, so gorgeous, brooding all the makings of a story consisting with three D’s (dark, delicious, and dirty) 😊. There will be suspense, betrayal, death, darkness, secrets reveled, violence, hope, forgiveness, and maybe even love (ALL THINGS TO EXPECT FROM THE MAFIA WORLD). By the time you’ve figured out who is who and what is what, you’re already hooked, and you may as well give up the fight and prepare yourself for an all-nighter!

“Bratva Angel” is the 5th book in the ‘Ivankov Brotherhood’ series by Sabine Barclay. It’s a dark mafia romance that can be read as a standalone, although I think it’s better if you’ve read other books in the series, all of which were enjoyable
Aleks is the second brother and second-in-command of the Kutsenko Mafia family. He’s the super serious, dour one who hardly ever smiles. When he encounters theater teacher Heather while going about and handling his errands, neither of them realize that it’s going to change their lives. Their paths had crossed in high school, but only from a distance. Heather’s father is a retired police officer who had warned her many times about the dangers of organized crime, and even back in high school she’d heard rumors about the Kutsenko brothers. As the connection between Aleks and Heather deepens, there are concerns about danger and loyalty. When circumstances swirling about them intensify in unexpected ways, it puts a lot of pressure on the new relationship and gives him great concern about exposing her to danger – and the possibility of exposing his family to danger because of her.
The passionate relationship between the two lead characters is characterized by some domestic discipline type scenes and similar bedroom activities. This is a super steamy couple! The secondary characters are plentiful and interesting, each having their own personalities. If you’ve read other books in the series, you’ll be familiar with most of them. I thought the author did an excellent job creating vivid connections between Aleks and Heather, and between both of them and all the rest of the characters. Some of the twists and turns were very unexpected, which I enjoyed. I’m looking forward to the next book in the series.

Okay so let me begin by saying that I am a sucker for anything and everything on those Russian mobsters. You name it I've read it. The usual tropes include kidnapping, dub con, forced marriage, young virgins and a heavy angsty read.
That's what makes this book SO refreshing. It is actually a book for adults, skilfully crafted with people you actually believe in and root for. Having said that, don't think for a moment that our hero - Aleks - isn't a fabulous specimen of manhood and uber rich of course, hot as hell cos he's all those things and more including being ....drum roll........ a ROMANTIC..... and the steam oh...the steam ! Let's just say that I reread a couple of scenes without shame...all for research purposes you understand. It's a tough job but someone's got to do it.
That brings me to Heather our heroine, who apart from her natural beauty is quirky, talented and so not your typical little wallflower that is dominated by a dark Russian. Oh no, our girl's got a career, her own home and friends and is in no way in need of saving. And THAT'S WHY I devoured this....It's the believability factor that is missing in so many other Bratva related books.
From the moment and the way they met right through there is an authenticity to this tale and therefore the author's work. I loved the hero's need to take care of Heather, not in a stalker way but in a loving keep her safe kind of a way....
I'd love to delve deep into the plot here - and believe me this is layered onion style - but I'm under strict instructions not to and rightly so. Read it for yourself you won't be disappointed.

Okay.... first things first; this is NOT a Daddy Dom Little Girl book. When anytime the use of the word daddy or baby girl it was used as words of affection like sweetheart and my heart. This is NOT an age gap romance. The Kutsenko series is amazing. I love this series and have enjoyed reading about the romances in the families and the danger involved being with a bratva man.
PRO: Aleksei is the perfect fictional book boyfriend. He is the epitome of what its like to have a thoughtful, conscientious, protective, sensitive boyfriend in and out of the bedroom. The way Heather was able to make Aleks laugh by just being herself was priceless. It was interesting the difficult complicated dynamics that Heather's life brought to the relationship was dealt with. Some seemed extremely realistic.
CON: I felt the out loud expression of Aleks and Heathers feelings were more like they belonged to the mutual admiration club. I just felt it was a little too much but not off putting. Just a bit annoying.
I did enjoy reading this episode in the Kutsenko series. I look forward to more. I enjoyed the last book about Pasha and Sumiko. I highly recommend this book.

“If you hadn’t noticed, I tend to be rather serious.”
So, now we finally get Aleks, who I really liked right from the first book. Serious, sober Alek is the last person I would have paired with cheerful, upbeat Heather and yet it’s a perfect match! I loved how she brought laughter and light back to Aleks. They had intense, instant chemistry and they singed my tablet a few times. As usual there’s a ton of action throughout.
While the story arc of Aleks and Heather is complete in this book the series itself is more complicated. With all the secondary characters and action going on, with plot lines stretching across multiple books, I really think they are no longer technically stand alone books any longer. Sabine tries but there’s just way too much going on and too many people involved to adequately summarize everything in each new book. I’ve read every book in the series and even I had trouble keeping everyone straight, especially the Colombians. It’s like almost everyone has a J name! Reading this book before reading the others just doesn’t do it justice. Start with book one and read them in order. You’ll be so happy you did!.

Wow!! "Bravta Angel" was riveting! Not only was it a walk through the complex lives of Bravta members and other organized crime families, but it also focused on deep, passionate love and dedication in the Bravta family. The challenges Aleks and his family faced when dealing with other organized crime families was always connected to their love of family.
Heather, a school drama teacher, meets Aleks and it is almost love at first sight, or at least lust at first sight. The men in Alek's family, four brothers and heir four cousins, are extremely protective and possessive of women and Alek is the same way with Heather. I found his way of putting Heather first to be very sweet and romantic.
It's been a while since I couldn't put a book down. I'm so glad I started this book in the morning or I would have been up all night. Sabine Barclay is a terrific writer that tells a gripping story that keeps the reader engaged from the first page. I highly recommend "Bravta Angel!!.

This is the fifth book in the series. They can be read as standalone books. I haven’t read any of the other books in the series and wasn’t lost. Aleks and Heather run into each other literally in the grocery store. She takes him completely by surprise. He lives by the motto have a plan don’t act on impulse. That goes completely out the window when it comes to Heather. It turns out that Heather went to school with his family. She was in a play with on of his brothers. So she has heard the rumors. They fall fast for each other. No matter how many times Aleks tries to convince himself to let her go for her own safety he just can’t. They are meant to be together. Now he just needs to get Heather to understand the true danger she could be in just by being with him. Danger is closer than either of them know. This book had me hooked from the start. I loved the characters. Aleks’ family is wonderful. They may do illegal things but they are wonderful men. They would do anything to assure that their women and family were safe. The woman who have joined the family are wilting flowers. They are more than capable when needed. I have added the other books in the series to my tbr list. Fantastic job Sabine. I look forward to reading more book by Sabine in the future.

I love the world of the interconnecting, standalone dark mafia world of the Ivankov Brotherhood. I love how stuff and strong these mafia men are, but once they find their match it’s all or nothing. Aleks Kutsenko, second oldest brother, has always been the quite one, the deadliest brother, but then he meets Heather. He soon realizes he; his brothers and cousins all went to school with Heather and her sister. He remembers her dad’s a cop; will this kill the relationship before it starts? This book starts off fast as he asks her out and one thing leads to another, and their relationship is off and running. Nothing is more important than keeping his family safe. I love how Aleks wants to take care of her, keep her safe even from her family. He knows she’s smart and she’ll will figure what he and his family are the Bratva. Aleksei Kutsenko literally runs in to Heather Hampton in the grocery store where she’s with her nephew, they meet then in the drugstore & arrange a date. She’s a high school drama teacher & he’s bratva but their attraction is off the scale & they are meant to be together. I loved both Aleks & Heather, he's hard on the outside but soft & gentle in the centre, he’s also solemn & rarely smiles she's sparky, feisty as well as loyal & caring. I absolutely loved this fifth book in the series & once again once started found it very hard to put down. It’s steamy, it's sometimes violent but it's also a lovely love story. There were surprises along the way & I was drawn in from the start & just loved it. It could be read on its own but when a series is this good I’d recommend reading from the beginning, a very well written enthralling read

Another Enticing Story into the World of The Ivankov Brotherhood. Or better yet The Amazing Kutsenko Brother’s. Although all four Brother’s are strong, domineering, secretive, hidden lives, extremely handsome, there is something special about there chivalrous ways in treating women.
There something unique about each Brother and the women that they pick. It seems to add a special strength to there relationships. With Aleksei and Heather she was able to connect with his lighter side. Beside Business and Family Ties, trust and opening up, action happening, there is nothing dull in this story.
Along with not just hot passion, but finding your true partner.The story will entertain and excite you.

My goodness!
Aleks and his brothers are a force to be reckoned with. But they are aces at finding the soul mates who are also fierce and fearsome. Heather is no shrinking Violet in any way.
When these two meet (again) you could call it a meet-cute. Because it is adorable with Heather's nephew in the mix.
As they begin the relationship it is supposed to be an arms length type of thing. But when they can't keep their minds or hands off of each other it is a done deal. They are hooked!
Of course, being a Bratva family there is danger, threats and bullets waiting around almost every corner. When she does not cut & run, Aleks knows she is the woman for him. And she proves it royally!
This series will keep you on edge in more ways than one but you will really enjoy the ride.

Wowzer
Wow! So much more action and intensified sex. This drug in a few spots as it almost was the same as Nikos! Pashas, was similar but he was the one who got taken not the girlfriend! And its a good thing these ladies knew how to understand different languages! With the way the world is evolving, not only teachers need to know different languages! We all do! But this was so intriguing and yet surprising in so many ways! On to the final book! Start at one so you can follow along! Bogdan's get a little strange at first because you hear about him and Christina in Maks and Laura's story! Happy reading! Make sure you can stretch and cross your legs or you'll never finish the books! 😁😆😂

I've been invested in this series since the beginning, and I honestly can say that I think each book gets better. Aleks, like his brothers and cousins, is very protective of the women in their lives so when he meets Heather, it sort of jumps into overdrive on his part. I loved the steam, the sexiness and the romance!!! Aleks is a very romantic guy and he shows it. I also loved that Heather wasn't a woman who necessarily needed rescuing but one who was standing on her own when they met! Of course, I always love seeing previous characters and seeing who might be coming up next. This was a perfect read for an afternoon or evening!

This is the fifth book in this incredible series, and this is Aleks and Heather’s journey. Aleks is Bratva and he is protective, thoughtful, and romantic, and his family’s safety is his priority, and he puts Heather into the same category. Heather is a high school drama teacher, and she is the light to his darkness, and the chemistry between them is combustible and undeniable. This is a well written story which has action, twists, friendships, family, emotions, tension, romance, challenges, and love, which leads to a steamy and all-consuming page turner.
I look forward to reading more from this talented author whose work I highly recommend.

Aleks is really protective over Heather from the beginning, but that runs in the family.
This is a book full of steam and passion, with so much respect and love between the characters. Aleks is also very possessive over his belongings, and one of his belongings is Heather. This is not a dom/submissive story, although Aleks wants to be dominating in the bedroom, but Heather also wants the kink.
If you’re looking for a dark mafia romance, with a lot of passion and steam, grab this book and devour it.

What a complete page-turner this was! Wow! This kept me glued to the pages from chapter 1. Sometimes at the edge of my seat,sometimes wanting to smack characters, sometimes just wanting to fan myself from reading a steamy bedroom scene. This book had lots of action mystery, bit of drama, spice and heat and such chemistry between Aleks and Heather, who who were so well-written. I loved the writing style of the action scenes, made them feel real and not confusing. Highly recommend series. But can be read as stand-alone without being confused I think.

Can the devil that is Alek & the angel that is Heather find their HEA in his bratva world?
What an fantastic 5 star read. This is my second time reading this author & I was not disappointed. I normally would not read a book with this theme but I am so glad that I did as Alek & Heather's story blew me away & I could not put the book down until I had finished reading. When a book description includes words like erotic, steamy, mafia, kinky, alpha, opposites attract & grumpy/sunshine you know that the reader is in for brilliant reading experience.

This was another great story about the Ivankov Brotherhood series. This story centers around Aleks and Heather. They run into each other while Heather is out with her nephew and their attraction is instant. She agrees to go out with him as their attraction to each other is hard to ignore. There is some domestic discipline, it's dark, great plot, action, danger, twists, and plenty of spice. Aleks might be dangerous but he will do anything to make Heather happy and safe. I enjoyed this story and am looking forward to the next book in this series.

What I really like about this series (which is prevalent in a lot of mafia stories) is the possessiveness of the hero. Not in a creepy way but in a “let me take care of you” way and “I cannot live without you” way. Aleksei is so delicious in this story. He is really kind and caring (like all of his brothers and cousins). I also really liked Heather. Aleksei and Heather were meant for each other. Their interactions are both cute and sexy. There is a bit of situation which puts them in peril but is solved like all good mafia stories.

“Bratva Angel” is the fifth book in the Ivankov Brotherhood series. Each book in the series continues to be as fantastic as the previous books. One of my favorite things about this author is all her female characters are completely badass. They are equal to the men, especially when it comes to protecting their family. I loved Aleks and Heather’s story right from the start. Their meeting was serendipitous. The sex is scorching. Their story has suspense, mystery, romance and humor. I love seeing the brothers and cousins as well as the older generations. I cannot wait for what comes next.

Sabine Barclay emerses you in the world of the mafia with strong, attractive heroes and heroines. This page turner will capture your attention and keep it to the very end with a mix of brutality, gentleness, impeccable manners, intelligence, sweetness, and depth of love that will withstand all challenges. This is a fantastic series with each book featuring a member of the Kutsenko family. They are loyal to each other, always have each others back and are alpha to their core. I love how they may be ruthless to do what they must, but over the top protective of the women in their lives. Aleks is no different and the way he cares for Heather and respects her thoughts and feelings is totally swoonworthy. I especially loved how Heather stood her ground when she needed to step up and wasn't a wilting flower. These are books I would definitely read again.

The newest book in The Ivankov Brotherhood series has arrived and it will have readers falling head over heels for Aleks and Heather! Aleks has always been very serious in the previous books and readers will finally see another side to him, as well as his usual intensity readers love. Heather is a breath of fresh air, funny, funky and sassy, and everything Aleks needs in his life. There is plenty of passion between these two and of course plenty of danger and drama to go around. Readers will definitely put this book on their reread list!

Alek bumps into Heather at a grocery store and asks her out. Come to find out Heather went to high school with all of the brothers. In typical family tradition, Aleks falls hard and almost instantly but is hesitant in having Heather a part of the bratva life. There's some of the plot that has rolled over from previous books and the relationship between the two are on point to what the series is all about. Very enjoyable. Can't wait for the next one.

I came across this series and it is one of the best I have read. When it is close to a new book coming out, I find myself checking and rechecking the release date on Amazon. This is the fifth book in the series and it just keeps getting better. Every time I thought I knew what was coming, I was wrong. There is the main drama but also other little dramas that keeps you reading. This series keeps you wanting more. I cannot wait for the next book, but I also cannot wait to see what she has planned next.
