As with the Second World war book this is an exceptional reference book useful for education and for general interest. Aimed more at KS2 children they should not be confined to this age group even adults would enjoy this more concise book.

I love this book! I bought it as a resource for my kids, but I quickly ended up reading for pleasure myself. It strikes a great balance between giving pertinent details so that you are learning, while not overwhelming you with information. The geography is presented in a way that you see its significance to the events and everything is illustrated with historical photos and drawings that bring the text to life.
