Written by a US Coast Guard rescue guy about Coast Guard rescue guys. It seems that most of the folks who have read and reviewed this book are Coasties. I'm not. It's about a famous rescue on the Columbia River bar and the heroes who did it. The author does a good job of telling the story of the disaster, gives background on all of the subjects in the story, and concludes by telling about how the Coast Guard worked on trying to prevent these accidents in the future.
