Surly Sutton Rolston is a big grouchy billionaire cowboy with an even bigger secret. Bethany, his best friend, is back in their small town and hiding her own skeletons in her closet. Will these forbidden secrets keep them apart or bring them closer than they have ever been?
Sutton realizes that his meddling brother has decided to hire Bethany at his hospitality ranch as a horse-riding teacher.
Little did his brother know that Sutton’s bubbling feelings for his old friend have surfaced and he can’t seem to shake his thoughts, even though his secret could ruin their friendship.
Bethany has even bigger fish to fry when her overbearing father arrives in Isabel, Texas to marry her off to Penn Torrington which is her worst nightmare.
Or so she thought….
The even larger calamity is Bethany's hidden romance for her best friend Sutton. She knows that if Sutton finds out her father deems him unworthy to be with his daughter, then Surly Sutton will turn into an even bigger hurricane of grumpy emotions.
So what is a friend to do? Deny her feelings to save her best friends? Or risk it all for a chance at true love?

Everything in this book felt underdeveloped and rushed. The characters were nothing short of idiotic and their thought processes didn’t make sense in the slightest. All over an extremely frustrating but short read.
Bethany and Sutton have been best friends since grade school, where they met on the playground. Only her father, Mr. Grant had plans for both his daughters, Jane, the oldest, and Bethany, that didn't include any of the Rolston boys! Only here, Bethany is at Sutton's hotel back in Isabel, TX, helping him clean things up and make it a great place! What happens when Topher, one of the middle Rolston men, comes home with his entourage that includes Penn, the man Bethany finds out her father wants her to marry? Topher wants to use Sutton's place to advertise his latest adventure, Steeplechase racing! Plus, he wants Bethany to help him put it together! Then there's Bethany's father and Jane, who have been invited! Will she ever catch a break? Will she and Sutton ever be able to be alone long enough to realize how they feel for each other? Only one way to find out is to read this great story by Hanna Hart. It's worth every word!
A Forbidden Romance for the Grumpy Cowboy is a sweet, heartwarming, friends to lovers romance. Sutton and Bethany are long time friends despite her family's disapproval. In this well written book, Sutton's brother has hired Bethany as the riding instructor. Both Sutton and Bethany want more than friendship, but each is afraid it will result in a lost friendship. When another of Sutton's brothers brings his high society friends to the ranch, Bethany discovers one of them is a persistent suitor of hers, Penn Torrington. Then her overbearing father arrives to secure her marriage to Penn. This leads to lots of upsets, turmoil and the perfect ending to this story. I did not want to put the book down.
Sutton of the wealthy rancher Rolston family was Isabel Texas royalty. Bethany his childhood friend’s father aspired to be in their circles but upon obtaining wealth felt the rancher life was beneath them moving on to posher socialite circles. Bethany and Sutton always remained friends each hiding their love for each other by friend zoning, better to be friends than risk destroying the friendship. Bethany comes back to town helping Sutton open his recreational ranch hotel being a crucial cog in its success. But Bethany’s socialite world comes colliding into her safe haven with Sutton, threatening to tear them apart while they have acknowledged their feelings.
A beautiful love story of what’s really important in life. Enjoyed this book and the series.
Sutton Rolston and Bethany have been best friends since back in school. Sutton’s family was in the ranching business. Bethany’s dad had gained his wealth and left Isabel as soon as he could. He was strict and manipulative. Nor did he believe the Rolston boys were good enough for his daughters. Bethany has broken lose and run back to Isabel wanting to work with the horses but her father has other ideas. He wants her to marry into one of his friends family who is very wealthy. What happens when the suitor her father agreed for her to marry finds her in Isabel?
I’m not going to delve in and describe the whole book again, that’s what a blurb is for. However this book was so nice to read, I love the friendship angle of this pair. They’ve never grown apart, there’s no first meet scene. They are friends that maybe feel a bit more than friends and are navigating a crazy life that is one size of an entirely different life for one of them. Honestly there is a lot going on in this book and I think it is much faster paced than the others in the series. So fast paced I literally could not put this book down and finished it all in one go!
Highly recommend. I think this is my favourite of the series.
A wonderful cowboy romance when best friends Sutton and Bethany want more but have to deal with their families and the business of running a hospitality ranch in the small town of Isabel, Texas. Ms. Hart never disappoints whatsoever and has given us another must-read in book three of her Rolston Ranch Brothers. If you enjoy clean romance that you can't put down, don't miss A Forbidden Romance for the Grumpy Cowboy. I received an advance reader copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving my review.
This is book 3 of the series, Bethany comes from a wealthy family who looks down on people, her father has picked a man out for her to marry but her best friend Sutton has always held a special place in her heart. Sutton comes from a hard working family and he is not a fan of people with money. There is a lot of misunderstanding and lack of confidence where Bethany and Sutton are concerned but they always work it out in the end as they are best friends just needed more trust before they get their HEA
Sutton Rolston is the youngest of the six brothers. Bethany Grant of is his best friend and they have known each other for most of their life. But her father and older sister that thinks she should marry someone who will better their life. She loves her hometown and Sutton lets her be who she wants to be. His brothers think they are a great match and know he's better with her by his side. Great read😊
Loved this book! Bethany was a rich woman who was born to a narcissistic man. He was nasty, rude, and just plain mean, using his daughters to add more wealth. But Beth wanted no part of his life. She wanted to ride horses and be with Sutton, her best friend for decades. She escaped from her life to be with Sutton at his hotel which they had remodeled. This story tells how friends became to be in love and how they both worked to create their own life together.
I really enjoyed this story. Sutton was looking everywhere in town when he was pickng up a special chandelier. He was looking for a blond headed lady, who had f ound this chandileria for his hotel. There is so much more to this wonderful story, enjoy.
For honest Review. This was a very cute story I loved how Sutton rolston and family of the hospitality ranch in Isabel Texas are making a success of their responsibilities . always thinking of his best friend Bethany grant when she shows back up their relationship is having new challenges.
The term, poor little rich girl, definitely would apply to Bethany Page. Sutton Ralston’s best friend since elementary school, she is also sister to Drake Ralston’s ex-wife. The Ralston brothers seem to have attraction to employees who are off-limits to romance. That doesn’t work too well. I really enjoyed this book and the dance between love and hate for Sutton and Bethany.
Best friends can find love. Sutton and Bethany both have family issues to deal with. He has to work with his brother to inherit, she is being married off to the richest bachelor. Eventually, they decide that money isn't everything and skip town together. They come back, of course, they have a business to run after all.
Two best friends since grade school soon realize they want their friendship to be more. However both have family to contend with which complicates things. Luckily this is a romance and there is a happily ever after.
I really enjoyed this story about Bethany and Sutton. It just does to show money can't buy happiness. This is a sweet, clean romance with a bunch of family drama and laughter as well. I've enjoyed each book in the series very much.
I would have like to see some kind of confirmation between Sutton and Penn. He just dropped off the radar. Also Drakes ex wife shows up and nothing happened. Another dead end. But I did enjoy the book and had a some good laughs
This is the fourth book in the series. It is the story of Sutton Rolston and Bethany Grant. This one didn’t work for me. Premise was shaky. I never got to know the characters, I had no connection to them and didn’t feel they had a connection to each other.
A rich girl who wants to be a country girl and the guy who has always been her best friend find themselves grown up and trying to figure out what they really want. Filled with friends and family who all think they know best. Fun read.
This was about a young man and woman who came from different backgrounds and how they proved to their families that they could love and live their life’s how they wanted and not how the families wanted . This is my review and mine alone. Norma Gorrill
Each book in this series seems to get better than the last one. So happy the sons are beginning to be happy and also earn their inheritance by getting closer to their brothers. Family is so important.
My favorite so far in this series about the Rolston brothers. Best friends growing up in a small town. A very moving friendship while the brother fulfills his Father’s demands after his death. A wonderful read that I highly recommend.
Hasty conclusion. (Typical of this series -- conflict builds. Event yeilds moment acknowledging love. Boom--end of book with an epiloque which is suppossed to tie up loose ends. )
