The kids at Koala Hills have settled into secondary school, but they are still outraged by their teachers, their parents, society and everything else. Joan is appalled with her own relatives, Kirsty can't bear her mother's boyfriend, Peter is dogged by awkward moments. Rumour and gossip, fake hugs and lies, it's school politics as usual.
So glad I reread this series as an adult; I'd forgotten that it wrapped up neatly with this book, which follows the Koala Hills kids through Year 8 and then finishes by jumping 14 years into the future to see where they all ended up. This final instalment being about teenagers, there's some heavier issues to deal with but still in a light-hearted way.
