Svet klasične muzike potresa prava revolucija kada poznati dirigent Ronald Tomas izvede na privatnom koncertu navodnu rekonstrukciju prvog stava mitske Desete simfonije Ludviga van Betovena. Možda je g ...more

I really enjoyed the book. The principal character is very relatable and the description of the scenes are easy to imagine. The author's knowledge about the myths and facts of the classical music world is seductive and easy to grasp.
While this book contains all the excitement needed in good suspense/detective novel, it also enlightens several facts about renowned composers and the myths behind their 10th symphonies.

This is a great thriller, I've enjoyed it from the beginning to the end. I especially loved the fact that the writer did a great research on the subject, so you find a whole lot of interesting details and (maybe not to related) facts, that are still very enjoyable. The translation to Serbian is pretty bad, so that made my experience a bit worse, but I still loved it. The first day I took it, I've read about 100 pages, and couldn't understand how fast my time went during the reading. The subject ...more

The beginning of the book was veeery good! but then within the book there are a lot of "informative" parts.. it explains too much that doesn't really have to do with the book. (you'll learn a lot about general topics though).
But it was an ok book, it will keep you entertained.

This book is a combination of historical facts and mystery.
It gives you more knowledge about Beethoven and what was his life.
The part that impacted me was the part that they say Beethoven enchanted many women with his music.
The part that makes the book more interesting is when one of the character dies and the main character goes to find the tenth symphny of Beethoven that was thought to not to exist

Interesting story and a cool plot, you can tell that the author has a lot of knowledge of Beethoven. The problem is the writing. It could be that I have just been reading a bad translation, but the book suffers from feeling more like a very long essay rather than fiction. You never really get to care about whether the characters live or dies. Still, the theoretical part of the book is really interesting, I love the combination of crime and music.

This is one of the books that I often like to re-read.
I read it in Italian and it is a smooth and pleasant reading.
I find musical in some way—it begins tragically, with the death of the musician and the beginning of investigations, then it grows into a crescendo as they search for signs, evidence, testimonies, secrets and personal intrigues, and in the background of every page is Beethoven's music. First it has a fast-paced rhythm, the chords quickly following one another, then it seems to slow

Astonishing thriller for curious people. Firstly, I would take the subject of the book; the name Beethoven floats through the pages constantly. I mean, who would not want to read a book that involves one of the greatest geniuses ever? I can rather say that I liked the writing because of the boredom they did not contain, unlike some classics that are overrated. The author has the ability to drop trivial facts about he subject, but the reader never gets fed of them. All in all, a solid book, dynam ...more

One of the best books I've read so far. The author shows clearly an amazing knowledge and ability to combine crime with music. Probably the fact that I am a musician makes the whole novel a different experience for me than for a person who lacks knowledge on this topic. Although it is an amazing book, I wouldn't recommend it to people who are not interested in the music facts and terminology. Keep that in mind of you are going to read it; otherwise, enjoy the book.

A book that feels a little longer than it should be, and that disappoints with the frustrating ending. It falls way less in the "let's-put-some-history-facts-here" than other Dan Brown wanna bes, although sometimes you can feel it happening, specially in the last scenes.

Joseph Gelinekin Kymmenes sinfonia on varsin vetävä jännäri.

4,25* I really liked reading this book, it’s just my cup of tea. I loved all the facts about music and the combination with mystery. There were some problems with the writing though. Almost all characters are way too knowledgable. In real life people just don’t talk like they are reading out of textbooks. The dialogue feels forced because of that. I get that the author wants to convey a lot of information and I like that, it’s just not done very well. The sentences are a bit long sometimes and d ...more

Chose this since Beethoven's life and his unfinished 10th symphony are central themes in this book. I guess... in terms of Beethoven, it was a nice read, but that's pretty much all of it. The actual characters in the book weren't very genuine, and some of the musical facts in the book were rather misrepresented. I don't like books where the good and bad fight, and in the end good wins. It's kind of boring.

absolutely my favourite thriller ever! I enjoyed the story form the first chapter to the last. hight suspance and funny moments, a bit splatter sometimes, but absolutely in theme. the way the sory goes on, alternatin flashback of the life of beethoven with the courrent life of Daniel, the main charachter are very intresting and make it more fluid reading. and the final, complitely inespected and spectaculare worth reading this book

It started good, but near the end, the story began to drift and there were scenes that were so unnecessary. At the beginning it was existing, but near the end I just waited for the story to get back on track, but it didn't. Not bad though.
