Moran's Dictionary of Chemical Engineering Practice is the most comprehensive guide to the jargon of the chemical engineering profession. It defines and where necessary disambiguates more than 10,000 terms, and includes short discussions of the various meanings of the most contested terms. Written by a highly experienced practitioner, and drawing on the input of over two hundred other chemical engineering practitioners, it represents the most complete, current consensus on the language of chemical engineering.
I have found this book very useful as it gives rapid and better understanding for specific engineering terms, especially when you want to start a scientific search or presenting your research work or preparing for interviews and you need these engineering vocabulary and definition for effective explanation and communication. I highly recommend the application of this scientific source for researchers and individuals who work or aiming to work in the industrial field.
This is an excellent book. I should know, I spent three and a half years writing it, with the help of a couple of hundred collaborating engineering professionals. More than three times as big as the Oxford Dictionary of Chemical Engineering, and an estimated five and a half times as relevant. Just as well, as it is sixteen times as expensive!
