Reg is reluctant to help with the search for the missing coven leader, but there is a tradition of psychics helping the police, so she feels like she is under some obligation.
Reg has always been good at finding lost objects, and showed her ability to find a wizard who had been lost in the Everglades for 50 years, so finding Davyn should have been a piece of cake. But no matter what method she tries, she can’t seem to sense him, and that terrifies her.
What if it’s already too late? Or is Davyn out there somewhere, his life dangling by a thread, hoping that she will succeed? With time running out and her own doubts weighing heavily on her mind, can Reg summon her inner powers to locate the missing warlock before it’s too late?

The community of Black Sands is home to both non-magical and magical humans as well as a variety of other species. Reg Rawlins makes her home in this community and has settled in quite comfortably, establishing for the first time a comfortable and stable life, a place in the community, a sense of belonging, and some real friends. When Davyn, the leader of a coven of warlocks, a fellow firecaster, and mentor to Reg goes missing, Reg is willing to do whatever she can to discover what happened to her friend. What follows is an adventure which held me spellbound from beginning to end. I never cease to be amazed and entertained by the fertile imagination of P. D. Workman as she weaves wondrous adventures for her incredible characters while still managing to subtly incorporate some real-world issues into the story. I was provided with an advance copy of this book, for which I thank the author, but I am sharing my honest and unbiased review on a completely voluntary basis.
I’m enjoying this series, I must be at book 16 right? The mysteries are interesting, the magic systems varied and intriguing (Forst and Uncle Harrison are particular favorites) and the characters are evolving somewhat. It has that layered more complex world in a cozy that I’m drawn to and appreciate. The most frustrating over the course of the series is the repetitiveness of the Corvin and Reg dynamic and Reg’s slow ability to connect the dots on what she learns and observes.
Overall I enjoy the stories and the wide variety of adventures, magic and characters she runs across. It’s refreshing that not everyone is immediately best friends and we get to see relationships develop over time.
Another winner from one of my favorite authors! When her mentor goes missing, Reg knows she must use her special skills to help locate him. I couldn’t put down this book until the end. The story is riveting, the characters well drawn and the craftsmanship exceptional. Highly recommended! I enjoyed this book and am looking forward to the next in the series. I received a complimentary copy of this book and chose to write a voluntary, unbiased review.
Magical Investigator and siren, Reg Rawlins, is feeling stressed by the disappearance of her mentor and coven master Davyn, and the reinstatement of her gloating Nemesis, Corvin Hunter, the soul-stealer, to whom she's bound. Who asks for her help in finding Davyn? A twisty, witchy tale by the brilliant P.D. Workman, that will grip you firmly by the imagination throughout! Get it today.
I love these Reg Rawlins books. Reg's cases aren't your typical PI cases. Reg is part psychic and (newly found) part siren. I love the secondary characters also. I can picture what they all look like and how the town is too. This book can be read as a stand alone but it does refer to happenings and characters in past books. My recommendation would be to read from book one, so you know what is happening in this book a bit easier.
I volunteered a honest review for a copy of this book.
Missing Powers (Reg Rawlins Psychic Investigator (Paranormal Cozy Mystery) Book 16), my thirty-seventh read from author P.D. Workman. Extremely well written as are all of P.D. Workman’s books. “I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review." The gifting of this book did not affect my opinion of it. I look forward to P.D. Workman’s next book. Next up, Undiscovered Tomb. (RIP Marley January 20, 2014 - July 24, 2018).
Well, I don’t like Corvin. He is ruthless, egotistical, narcissistic, and disgusting. I truly hope Davyn remains as head of the coven. I like Reg, she is kind and smart and powerful. I liked this book, I liked the world, the characters, and the magic.
Another great Reg story. As a Psychic Investigator, there’s an obligation to help the cops. Not really wanting to, but will help anyway. Great fantasy read to keep you intrigued, love Reg. I kept trying to guess what would happen next.
Another great book in this series. I love the character Reg and her relationship with Corvin, Davyn and the rest of her magical and mystical friends. I can't wait to see what happens with them next.
