See You Next Tuesday
Ken Harris
Harris’s second novel, See You Next Tuesday, sequel to The Pine Barren Stratagem is a clever whodunit that features both a noir detective vibe in Steve Rockfish and a 21st century vibe in his partner Jawnie McGee. It’s even paced, has some great comedic relief to lighten the darker parts and the inclusion of some 21st century spy toys and the pandemic makes it timely keeping readers engaged until The End. This is a Private Investigator and grift story. The dynamic team of Steve Rochfish and Jawnie McGee tackle their first case as full partners. A line from later in the book gives the perfect synopsis: It’s a simple cheating husband case turned into a search and rescue, cult exfiltration and a wild ride that comes back to two old guys getting ripped off.
Rating See You Next Tuesday on a 5-point scale against the “perfect PI story”, I give this 5.00.

This second installment in the Steve Rockfish series takes us on another ride with crazy coincidences and a continued obsession with the Covid virus (aka masks etc).
Jawnie is a new partner for Steve after he realized how much her tech knowledge could benefit him and the firm. Let's just say she brings him into the 21st century and he can actually remember some of the things she has taught him which only helps him be more efficient, at least in the office. He gives her a new perspective on life a ...more

Harris gives us a good adventure into the world of swindlers with a tough PI. I liked the plot dealing with cryptocurrency and weaving that into deceptive teachings about Jesus' return. People were swindled, told that particular currency would be the only currency accepted by the church and the businesses associated with it. Bad guys manipulated people into believing they could get God's approval by investing. There was even a nod to the successful Left Behind novels. I also liked Harris incorpo

See You Next Tuesday is the second in the Steve Rockfish series. In this book, we find Steve Rockfish partnering with Jawnie McGee when they discover their cases are connected. While they may seem like an odd match, they work well together, and their chemistry adds depth to the story. As they continue to investigate their cases, they find a family connection which motivates them to solve the case as soon as possible.

I was looking forward to this book, which is the second in the Rockfish series by Ken Harris. Like the first installment, we get to follow along on the adventures of alcohol swigging and skilled P.I. Steve Rockfish, and his quirky sidekick Jawnie, who is great at keeping Steve grounded. Like the first book, Harris's writing style makes for a fun read, there is always fun banter between the two main characters, and I found myself laughing out loud several times. I love the hilarious name of the c

Well, Ken Harris did it again with See You Next Tuesday, the second book in the series, From the Case Files of Steve Rockfish. I definitely hope there’s more since I love the author’s writing style. The title is appropriate for the book’s content, and I loved the cover.

MY THOUGHTS:
Well this was a lot of fun. Loved it! I'm glad I listened to the audio. I know I would have still liked the book but the audio just made it feel real. The characters came alive.
There were a wide variety of characters, all of them done very well! Rockfish was not my favorite, but I still liked him. I loved the way he showed his concern for Jawnie. She was my favorite (with Lynn second, well I am a woman LOL). Jawnie was the new partner. I loved how she was learning on the job. I could ...more

Rockfish and Jawnie are back without missing a beat, but with a change or two.
Rockfish and McGee, Investigative Specialists now has two licensed investigators after Jawnie passed her exam, and she’s still dragging him into the new millennium and the wonderful world of technology. Steve grudgingly takes baby steps and would rather swallow glass shards before he admits he actually likes it.

Ken Harris is an author I have never heard of previously, but the title alone of this book made me want to read it. See You Next Tuesday is the second book in the Rockfish Files. I did hope that I wouldn't be left feeling confused beginning from the second book. But I sat down and found myself a P.I that I found so readable. That readable that I tore through this story in no time at all.

I admit, I entered into listening to this with some trepidation. I had so much fun with the first entry, I didn't think that could be matched. I was wrong. Volume 2 - See You Next Tuesday is as much fun as the title suggests!

In “See You Next Tuesday,” Ken Harris’s sequel to his detective thriller “The Pine Barrens Stratagem,” middle-aged, ever-beleaguered Baltimore private investigator Steve Rockfish and his new partner, a young black techno-whiz named Jawnie McGee, discover that two seemingly unrelated cases – a purportedly cheating husband and two old men scammed out of their savings – appear to have a connection. But what’s the connection?

To emphasise the great work put into the Audible version is to denigrate the words and heart behind this work.
If anybody would know how people people can be gulled, it is Steve Rockfish. This is a man Ken Harris, the author, knows well.
I happen to know him on social media, and bug him sometimes, so take my review with a pinch of salt if you must.

The second book in the Rockfish Files doesn't just add another great story (though it does that!) as a sequel; it does everything bigger. Bigger laughs, bigger scope, conspiracies and lore and all mixed up with what is becoming Ken's hallmark: sarcasm and wit and at a pace Mario Andretti would envy. If you want a barn burning romp with a PI with a poor attitude and good friends, look no further and invest your time into Ken Harris and Steve Rockfish.

Another exciting installment of Steve Rockfish P.I.
This time, Steve and Jawnie are working different cases that end up intersecting and becoming one case. The scam uncovered introduces a personal connection for Steve and provides EXTRA motivation to get to the bottom of this case.
Action packed and smartly written. The second book in this series ups the risk for Steve and Jawnie.
The Easter Eggs dropped into the story line just for Killer Termites and squirrels were a nice touch as well.

The Steve Rockfish sequel does not disappoint! In the second book of the Case Files of Steve Rockfish, we see Steve and Jawnie's business grow as does the chemistry between these two. This installment gives us a deeper look into our favorite characters and introduces us to some new faces making the growing Rockfish family even more engaging. From cheating spouses to the Church of the Universal Nurturing, Harris keeps you guessing. In the end, two different cases coalesce into one explosive relat

Like his first book, Ken knocks this story out of Citizens Bank Park. It took me even less time to finish this book than the first one. Expanding on where we left off from The Pine Barrens Stratagem we see Jawnie grow as a character and expand her investigative experience. We find out a bit Rockfish's childhood hoodlum friend Raffi, and let's just say Mr. Rockfish (Mack) can still hold his own after being out of the Navy for so long. This round of bad guys that Steve has to deal with are even mo

Steve Rockfish and Jawnie McGee are partners at the firm of Rockfish & McGee – Investigative Services. They are quite the odd couple, but they work well together. Jawnie has just recently gained her PI license and is now a full-fledged partner to Rockfish. This tale takes us on a rocky ride through a scam that fell upon Rockfish’s father, Mack.

I really enjoyed the first book in this series, The Pine Barrens Stratagem. But you don't have to read the first book to enjoy this one, though I would recommend it because it's just so enjoyable, as is this one.

The second installment in Ken Harris' Rockfish series is a new & exciting action packed adventure. In "See You Next Tuesday", Steve & Jawnie team up as investigative partners who delve into separate cases of romance scams and accusations of infidelity that eventually cross paths that lead them to the Church of the Universal Nurturing II. We are introduced to new characters who really bring the story together; Lynn, a budding confidential informant for Jawnie, and Steve's long time friend & go-to
