A bunch of stupid ass people
This book was EXHAUSTING!
Roddy is the biggest fuckboi ever with his entitled, controlling, and selfish ass. Only an ignorant n-word like him would continue to have visions of getting married and having a second baby with someone who CLEARLY wants NO parts of that lifestyle. He needs to get his head out of his ass so he can learn how to read a room. He is NOT the prize and it's very embarrassing to label him a street dude.
In some cases, I don't blame Jia for feeling the way she does because she's YOUNG. But overall, she's a pampered douchebag. 🤷🏾♀️
I don't have anything to say about Yves except she needs to find herself a therapist ASAP and unpack so she can heal. I really hope she chooses HERSELF in the end.
Poor Vee can't catch a BREAK! She also needs a Therapist.
The judgement and projection going on in this book is unreal and I'm not sure if I want to read the next installment. It's sad honestly because all of these adults have so much to say to the point that they contradict themselves. They really don't know how to feel about anything and because they lack communication skills, which is the biggest problem in this family, this is the end result. Those poor kids.

Now, this was still good, but at this point it’s the back and forth. This is a read that will have you up late, because you want to know what’s next but there are discrepancies. For those who care (I don’t that much) there are a lot of typos. I love how Roddy loves his children, but he is definitely worried about the wrong things. Like, focus on your kids, honey.
Potential Spoilers:
I was glad Yves was opening her options (as a single woman should) but please don’t talk turn into an Ethic and Alani. It’s only so much back and forth I can take. Incidentally and sleeping with married people seems to be the running theme with this crew.
Roddy and Yves, shoot and Jia too are all being about as messy as it comes. Yes Jia is selfish and a cheater as well but everybody is really just okay with this people have a full blown two-sides relationship? Lol ok

This sequel picked up right after book one. The characters talked in circles mostly Quite a few scenes were almost the same, but reshaped with different language which made you feel as if there was movement. That being said Jia is the perfect antagonist.

When I tell you I couldn’t put this book down !? I could not this book was even better than the first one like wow all the drama twists and turns !? This book is definitely a new favorite of mines I love the series !!! I am starting book 3 today! I cannot wait to read how everything unfolds!

Loved this book!
But I can’t stand Jia & Roddy! I don’t understand why they haven’t ended this situationship. I’m ready for Yves and Vee to have their happily ever after. Love this series so far but book 2 had ALOT, ALOT of errors. Grammar errors, spelling errors, saying him when it should have been her and what is “ a spinning image”?! Isn’t it spitting image? I don’t mind waiting longer for a book to drop if it means that it was edited correctly. For an author like Jahquel J, all those error was really unacceptable and that’s why I only gave 4 stars.

I was very underwhelmed. I loved the first book and was looking forward to the second part. Roddy was really irritating, i saw no growth from him at all. Just a bunch of back and forth and being immature and worrying about the wrong things. For me no one really developed as a character except for Julena. The book was well written, its just the way the characters actions went in part 2 was off-putting to me personally.

Wow, there’s a lot to unpack here…
So let me start off by saying that I thought I was going to read a little before going to bed and ended up staying up the whole night reading. My nosey butt just couldn’t put it down because I was to busy trying to figure out what was coming next. Who would have thought that such a simple plot can have so many twists and turns. I’m typically a “standalone “ type of girl but Ms. Jahquel is right, it does take 3 books to complete this story. Now, the editing could be better but I’m still riding with this book and author. So let me say this, Roddy is “NOT” book bae. He’s sexing two women with no problem. That is not admirable, it’s actually shady AF. I can’t stand his wishy washy ass. I know that him and Yves are going to eventually end up being together but I for real would rather see her with Preston. Although I do believe Preston has some sh*t with him that will be revealed in book 3. Also, Juleena is too grown with her mouthy self. I love Mama Vee and I love how she has Yves’s back and front. I hope that Ms. Jahquel won’t keep us waiting too long for book 3.

Yoooo! I am completely invested in this hood soap opera! Not Jah leaving me with another cliffhanger. I see I'm not getting sleep this week until I finish this series.
Let's recap: Roddy and Ives sleeping together behind Jia's back. Jia cheating on Rod with Oblique. RJ is gay and Jou is preggers. And lets not forget Vee is dating Ives ex husband!

Roddy- he sleeping with two women under his roof. Imo he is not the prize. Ain't no way I'd be letting him creep in my bed if I'm Ives. He needs to be a man and end his relationship with Jia. Ives deserves better.
Ives- I want this chic to win so bad. She's a good person that made a bad decision. Her ex is scum. And im not loving that dude Pooh that she's dating. He's obviously into something illegal that could put him back behind bard. She dead wrong for sexing Roddy in Jia's house. But I live how jealous Rod is of Pooh. He got some nerve making demands on her pus when he got a whole fiancé.
Jou- I hope she pulls thru. Jia should know better!
Jia- Jia had every right to get an abortion but she moving like she single and not in a relationship. She def should've talked to Roddy first. Their relationship is dead. I did feel bad for Jia when she lost her best friend. Nobody wants to find their best friend in bed with their man (Oblique) Keisha dumb if she thinks she got stressing power with Oblique.
Vee- please let Owen be the real deal. Vee is my favorite character in the book. The way she stood up for Ives was everything. She kicked Khalid to the curb. Khalid is the devil.
Ives mama, Khalid, Ives cousin, and Kort can all kick rocks. Kort shady for telling Ives business. Her cousin deserves her ass beat for marrying Ives ex husband and now carrying his baby. Ives mama ain't shit. And once again, Khalid is the devil.

Man, It's About To Go Down!!
The ish is about to hit the fan. See Jai wanted Juleena to like her so did what Juleena asked. If Juleena doesn't make it, Jai better find a house in California and move there. Roddy is going to lose his ish and be out for blood. Especially when he finds out Jai was sleeping with Oblique and the baby might not have been his that she aborted. He's going to find out. So the video she found ain't going to mean nothing. I think Pooh is doing something illegal with his boy Rafi. Yves should still date him with Roddy all that is going on with Jai, but that's it no serious. I'm so happy for Vee because deserves some happiness. When she been through so much with Curtis and then with Khalif and his doggish ways and he still has a pregnant wife. Kourt is a messy. Keisha is going to find out everything Jai to her is the truth. Oblique is living in a fantasy world because if thinks Keisha is going to come though for him then he's crazy because she couldn't come though for her best friend. Damn Jia smh she fucked up royalty but damn how can Yves & Roddy be so careless like did y’all not stop for one minute to think about the camera in KK room. It’s like Jia can be mad but in a way she can’t be, you invite Yves into your home when she knew things wasn’t all peachy between Roddy & Her. Plus she wasn’t doing her job as a fiancé so what did she expect was going to happened. Roddy is being selfish as hell when it comes to Yves happiness. Baby this book done tan my blood pressure up!! That damn Jia is a spoiled entitled hot mess and I can’t wait until she gets what is coming to her. Poor Juleena made a decision that could eventually cause her to lose her life Jia had no right making the stupid decision she did smh. Roddy has worked my last nerve in this book I just want him to make a decision about who he wants to be with already his indecisiveness on continuing a relationship with Jia has caused more harm than good now he is faced with possibly losing his child. Yves has been through so much and is continuing to go through drama I really just need her to boss up on everyone she has let down talk her because of a mistake that she made. She doesn’t deserve to have be reminded of what happened, degrades and belittled because of it and hopefully she lets Khalif, Tara, Kourtney and her mama have a piece of her mind at some point in part 3 she deserves it. I will be patiently waiting for part 3 to drop!!

Wait...there's a part 3?!?!
I typically like to read a series from beginning to end because I read so many books that I sometimes forget some of the storyline. I kept part 1 in my KU library and stalked the authors page waiting for part 2 to be published only to get to the end and find out that there's a part 3 😤. I should have known there was going to be more when Mama Vee's last chapter ended the way it did.
I can't wait until Roddy kicks Jia's spoiled entitled a$$ to the curb. She's the epitome of a bad mother who cares more about maintaining her lifestyle than caring for her child. Ju knew whay she was doing by going behind Roddy and Yves back and asking Jia to take her to get an abortion. I think Jia better go ahead and stay in California because Roddy is going to be out for blood with his baby being in the hospital.

good Story
Ok so very good story! I read part 1 and 2 back to back in one day. Roddy and Yves are so freaking aggy. Like somebody has to be the bigger person here bc that's not cool how they're doing Jia. They need to get their life together... wtbs Pooh seems shiesty, like what's up with the secret business? As usual, the story line was not lacking in the least bit. However, I had to take off a star bc there were a lot of small errors. Missing or incorrect words (this instead of these), timeframe mixups (Thalia was having her 2nd bday party and then in the next paragraph it was stated that she was three), etc. i have come to deal with it when reading in this particular genre (and ebooks in general by self publishers) but repeatedly in one book??? And this is not the norm at all for this author. It's not going to stop me from waiting on pins and needles for part 3 but I do hope that it's taken care of in the next book

These cliffhangers baby when I think what they did, we can’t be top. Baby it should be keep your enemies close but your friends/family even closer. I’ll leave my review once I finish the series.

These cliffhangers baby when I think what they did, we can’t be top. Baby it should be keep your enemies close but your friends/family even closer. I’ll leave my review once I finish the series.

Come on part 3 (spoiler alert sorry)
I’m rooting for Yves and Roddy. I hope Ju pulls through. I am so glad that RJ finally told his dad. I’m glad he supports and loves his son. Jia needs to move on because it’s clear what she really wants and it isn’t Roddy and the kids. Roddy should have been man enough to let Jia go once he decided to start dealing with Yves, it is clear that he isn’t happy and they (him & Jia) aren’t on the same page. I am happy that Vee is finally getting some happy in her life. Khalif, Kourt, Tara, and Yves’s mama all need to be told about themselves because how they do Yves is not right she is punishing herself enough she doesn’t need them kicking her continuously. I don’t know what Pooh is into but I think Yves is better as his friend than a lover. Come on part 3

I really enjoyed this book I’m team Yves all day, but the thing is I’m not team roddy. I don’t like the way he handles things. Jia is definitely selfish but if nothing else she has always been honest about who she is and what she wanted, it doesn’t make it right but it is what it is. Roddy is a good man but he just as selfish as Jia but nobody holds him accountable. I no longer want him with Yves. I love the way he accepted his son for who he is. I want Yves to get her happily ever after, but roddy in my opinion isn’t it he uses her to make hisself feel good when Jia ticks him off and Yves just lets him. I love mama vee even though she has had heartbreaks she still keeps trying to find love I admire that.

The hood soap opera continues. Secrets expose more sex more lies more drama. I found this book to go in circles and I really didn’t see the point. I gave it four stars for the effort but I am questioning whether or not I should ask for a refund on the credit. About to put my sweet potato pie in the oven and listen to book three. I realize the players in this book are young but at one point do you just say the thrill is gone and leave it alone. I mean your girlfriend is doing her on social media and you swearing. This is the woman you want to be your wife yet you’re doing the help! SMH. And don’t even get me started about being an absentee parent, although you are physically there with your children.

I could not put this book down. First Pooh is too good to be true I feel like he is hiding something. Jia is a b***ch and needs to be called out just plain old selfish. Please let Ju be alright and make it. RJ is cool and I am glad he came out to his dad now he can live in his truth and be happy. Vee and Owen wow small world but I hope they make it. Keisha has a date with karma and nothing good is going to come out of her relationship with O. I have more to say but most importantly please put book three out there soon. Lord have mercy!! I hope Ju is okay first of all!! Can we just get rid of Jia already??? The world's worst momma lol!! Now...I am torn between Roddy and Pooh. I feel like Yves should be with Roddy she has bonded with the kids and they are a good fit..Pooh on the other hand is familiar for her ahe definitely needs to just keep that a friendship. Why is Kourt so bent on trying to get Yves to talk to Tara?? Man that ship has sailed they need to gone ahead and move around!! Now momma Vee can't win for loosing!! I think that her and Owen need a fair chance let momma Vee be great!!

Once again, Jah has written a story with a plot that sucks you in. The drama and different tentacles throughout are like a vine that keeps you all in. I could only give this book 3.75 stars because of the editing. The name mix-ups, grammar misses, and proofreading lapses were just too much to overlook or give a higher rating. I would be lying if I said this book isn't worth reading and won't have you fully invested because it is and it will. It had to be mentioned because these things are disruptive to the story and Jah's immense talent. Please read it and enjoy this journey!

Vee can't catch a break! She's working through her relationship with her nephew/son and has found a new love. Khalif is gone thank goodness. What frustrated me was Vees insistence that Roddy is a good man. He's continuing to lead Yves and Jhia on. At this point he's a literal fuck boy who happens to look good on paper.
Jia is pursuing her career over everything. She even expresses that she's ok with moving to California and visiting Kingsley as she could. Nothing that happens to her was shocking.
Juleena is pregnant and her final decision to fix the matter could be the difference between life and death for her.
Im starting book 3. This is getting too good.

This book was Phenomenal! She doesn’t owe me anything do you here me! This book was everything! It had the perfect amount of everything! I can’t even be upset that there’s another part! It was just like ok! I’m ready whenever it drops! I’m not even impatient about it which is a first for me. And I’m still trying to pick my feelings of the floor after that ending. OMG!!! Part 2 was a page turner for sure but that darn Jia was so wrong for taking Juleena to get an abortion! Thank you so much Jahquel J for ALWAYS taking your time to write these AWESOME gems! It’s refreshing to read books about everyday life situations because in some form or fashion anyone that reads this GEM can actually relate to one of these characters in this book. I am proud to say that ever since I stumbled across some of your work on Wattpad, I am a forever fan of Jahquel J!!!

This book right here!!! I thought book 1 was great but sis...YOU DID THAT!!!!!The twist and turns had me clutching my pearls. Im glad Vee and Roddy finally talked, also glad she left Khalif alone but oohh what a surprise to see who the new mans child is!!!. Roddy is going to kill Jia, point blank period might as well start typing the obituary. Yves deserves happiness and to be loved. if not Roddy definitely not Pooh he give off sneaky vibes to me. So ready for the finale. Great job Jahquel.
