It has cheating😬😬😬🤮🤮🤮 AND THE BOOK IS HELL OF CONFUSING BOOK I EVER READ!!!!! 🤢🤢 The book description is sounds good but its NOT!!!! NOT A HAPPY ENDING BOOK EITHER!!! LIKE THE ENDING IS JUST BAD AND MORE CONFUSING… NOT CONFUSING LIKE MAYBE IT WILL START THE SECOND BOOK, NOOOO… THE SECOND BOOK IS MORE LIKE EVERYTHING IS OVER 🥵 So yeah i wasted my time reading this book💀💀💀💩🥲

THE HEROINE MEET THEM AGAIN ON HER LAST DAY IN SCHOOL BECAUSE SHE DECIDED TO MOVE AWAY, THEY JUST SAW HER AND DID NOTHING. WHICH MEANS THEY KNOW WHAT THEY’RE ARE DOING AND JUST LET THE HEROINE GO. SEE? NO ROMANCE EVEN UNTIL THE END. WTF.

They fcking played me, making me thinking they were decent human beings when in fact they were total opposite. I couldn’t believe i’d let my guard down and managed to get blindsided by those fckers. After the relatively normal study hangout and fcked up events that followed, I thought we’d turned a corner. Nothing too extreme, but I’d thought we’d all had an unspoken mutual truce. What a fcking gullible idiot I had become.”

Maybe you like it or not like it because we all have our books that we want to read, i respect that. But for me personally this book is just way too confusing and too toxic, NOT FOR ME. Books like this is just not books that i want to read or even try so do not force someone to like something that they already say many times that they didn’t like it🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼😅

You think that’s disgusting? For me its not and i’ve been eating it like that for many many years. You tell me to put another sauce and see if i like that better? I already did many many times in years but i still like the way i like it. It’s called differences between me and you and billions people in this world😊 be open minded😙 I respect people’s opinions about my opinions but in the end of the day if i say I don’t like it or i do like it, its up to me and its on me. DAMMM WHAT DID I JUST READ!!!!
This book was more than i expected, once i started reading it i couldn't put it down. Seriously how can a girl be able to pick between Carlton, Steele, Hawke and Tyler.
Payton has come to start fresh basically she is running from her bad past. Once the Kings Steele and Hawke, Tyler set their sights on her and add to the mix her stepbrother aka teacher, and she has four very possessive men, most of the time you cant tell if they want her or want to torment the hell out of her, but it makes the story so much better. Lets just say Payton doesn't have an easy time adjusting to the new life as things don't go according to plan at all.
Payton has many skeletons in her closet that she doesn't want anyone finding out, and lets just say she is not who everyone thinks she is and not a damsel in distress at all , she is strong, fierce and always stands her ground and lets no one not even the kings push her around and lets just say the men seem to have a few hidden secrets too . This book is filled with angst, hotness, secrets, forbidden temptation, it has it all bring on the next book asap i need it now!!!

Confusing
This book felt all over the place. There was no real connection between her and the guys. It was just lust and power and all together really shallow. There was self harm, dub con, and blood play but it was all done in a very immature and lackluster way. Peyton cursed and threatened a lot but pretty much caved at any and all moments the guys said to. She was a foul mouthed doormat the majority of the time. I didn't know what was going on most of the time either. Is there a gang issue or does she have a stalker? Why are the guys interested in her? They never actually say so the interest they have in her seems very boring to me. They threaten her to leave but don't say why. Then she gets at school and they are over bearing and obnoxious but still don't say why. There was never any real character or plot development. I really didn't like this book. It's more silly than dark.

Maybe I was drunk or missed my meds when I was reading this or maybe, just maybe, this book was all over the fucking place. Scenes bounced, quickly, left and right. Moods jumped around and so much would happen in one day, like slow the fuck down.
So, so much was going on in this clown factory. So many things were just dismissed. There was no connection between the chick and the guys. I thought this was an RH? Maybe I'm wrong. Too much happened and the chick was just "la la la la" going about her life like nothing affected her. The interactions between her and the guys were either too rough or too blasé, there was no middle.
What am I missing here? There's no depth, no meat to the plot. Fun fact, I don't even know what the fucking plot is. You're pulled all over the place. Is it a secret rich boy underground group? Is it a bad girl from the wrong side of the tracks with rich boys? Is it a victim trying to start fresh but ok with random dudes she just met, fuck her in the middle of a dance floor, a teachers room, etc? The ending, like what the fuck was that? Omg I'm so fucking lost. Pick a goddamn lane and stick with it!
The HS guys were as useful as a screen door in a submarine. I couldn't get their purpose. It felt like it was the Colton show. Not enough was given to care either way about the other three.
The FMC was ok, she wasn't annoying, but she did read like I've read her before in several other books. Nothing really set her apart. The step sister was too hyper for me. She was just too perfect as a sidekick that made her a bit annoying.

I don’t know how I feel about this book at all. I’m a bit put off by the lack of trigger warnings regarding self harm as there is self harm in the book. And the plot is too all over the place. While the males are very jealous/alpha male, the plot isn’t very strong. There’s too many plot holes and too many allusions to things that leave you with way too many questions that don’t get answered. The plot has so much potential but it just fell short on so many levels. There’s nothing at all to suggest what the 4 male characters are so obsessed with her and the story feels so incomplete.

This book... wow... it needed to settle a little before starting my review. First of all: read the trigger warnings! If you like your books dark, if you like to see your heroine end up with possessive guys that don't follow any rules except their own and if you like to see a heroine crawl her way up from a troubled past and present and experience all the anguish with her: you are in for a treat! If you like books with sweet romance, flowers and cuddles: I advise you to skip this one... Or expect to end up corrupted.
This book is a single POV, that focusses entirely on Peyton. She's a young woman, who has clearly suffered in her past. Where questions and mysteries around her past keep popping up, unfortunatly only few get answered in this book. The men are the type you hate to love... What I love most about this book, is that I'm left guessing how big Peyton's harem is going to be. There is Colton, stepbrother and teacher, who feels like a done deal. At least I believe some readers will contemplate murder if he doesn't end up in Peyton's HEA. Steele, Ty and Hawke are at an 80% chance, but then there is Dylan, and maybe even Eli? Hell, who knows, it even feels like some other guy might show up later on. I love the books that keep you guessing, and I can assure you: this author manages the art.

What a fantastic start to this series, the whole book is full of mystery, secrets, deceit, betrayal and a whole lot of angst, throw in some insane sexual chemistry between Peyton and the four guys Steele, Tyler, Hawke and of course Colton along with some forbidden love and what a book!
I really loved Peyton and you can tell she’s been through a lot, there was hints to her and her mum’s past which I’m sure will be further revealed as the series goes on, I have a feeling her past will end up colliding with the present!
We got a lot of Colt in this book who is a true alphahole who one minute I loved and the next I’m questioning everything because of how he acts, I never knew what he was going to do next! I’m looking forward to more of the other guys’ in the next few books as we’ve definitely only just scratched the surface with them.
Then we have that ending.. oh my I was not expecting any of the last couple of chapters, I literally went “WHAT, why did they do that!?” Because once you thought things were finally getting better between everyone of course there was another bump, revelation and new characters brought in to play.
I really enjoyed this book and am looking forward to the next!

My first book by Melinda Terranova and I picked it up thanks to Booktok. It isn't one I had seen before and the passage on Ticktok had me reaching for my kindle. It didn't disappoint in fact based on the snippet from booktok it was more than I had hoped for. The only problem is the cliffhanger and no book 2 until the end of December. So not fair!
The guys in this book are not nice guys, they are violent and nasty but it seems there is a reason for that. So far it hasn't been spilled in this book but I can sense it coming. Steele, Hawke, and Tyler are seniors just like Peyton and Colton is a few years older, her new stepbrother, and the new English teacher who enjoys making her life miserable.
Peyton is strong and fierce but broken. Her past isn't fully detailed but there are some pieces to her past given. She has a rage inside her that she has every right to feel but fear that breaks her down and causes panic.
Despite their threats and torment, the boys seem to watch over and protect her. Shown in many ways by both their defense of her and the times they save her. That doesn't mean they let up on the bullying, in fact just when you think they are taking steps to move on they do a 180 and hit her back with more of the same.
There is a lot of conflict and questions in this first book as well as some steamy scenes. I hope book 2 can follow up strongly because this was a really enjoyable read and I hate that I have to wait for the next part.
If you like reverse harem, bully romance, suspense, and don't mind a bit of violence thrown in then you will enjoy Corrupt Temptation.

To say that I absolutely devoured this book is a total understatement. I have no words to describe what this story did to me but I can tell you that I was totally here for it.
I honestly have to say that Peyton is one of my favourite characters that I have come across so far. She is incredibly fierce and has a backbone which I absolutely love in a FMC. I adore the relationship that she has with her stepsister Capri. I love how Peyton has this dark past that is only hinted at throughout the book and I can’t wait for all of her secrets to be revealed because I have a feeling that they are going to be explosive.
I love Colton, Steele, Tyler and Hawk. They are unapologetically their seriously twisted selves which I absolutely love. The chemistry between the guys and Peyton is intense which makes me look forward to more interactions between them.

This book blew me away and I can’t stop thinking about it!! Peyton’s character is wonderfully complex. She’s got a history of clearly being abused in several ways but we don’t have a lot of details or answers on that situation. Despite that fact she’s determined to move forward and not let anyone hold her back anymore. She is vulnerable but strong. Out of all the characters she’s the one that’s been wronged the most and continues to try to push through. I’m really hoping she puts all the boys right on their asses in the next book. The boys are all interesting and also a little difficult to figure out since we don’t know much about them, the brotherhood or what that connection is to Peyton. There’s a lot of mystery here that I’m hoping to find answers to in the next book. Capri and Peyton’s Mom were both so wonderful and I’m happy that Peyton has them both on her side. She had some potential for friends but I’m not sure if that’ll pan out with how this book ended. I loved the Stepbrother aspect of this, it kept everything really steamy and intense. The dynamic between Peyton and Steele, Tyler and Hawke is still a work in progress I think and I’m dying to see where that goes.

I can pluck out individual scenes/lines and character/idea roots that are good and promising, respectively, but they are buried in poor writing and lack of depth and continuity. The book is trying to be smarter than it is and that results in confusion and frustration as you are reading. It's not mysterious, it's just bad. I'm extra disappointed because despite going through this many times before I was drawn in by marketing bullet points: reverse harem, stepbrother teacher in the harem, steamy, dark, etc. - but not a single one of these elements is done well, except for some steamy scenes, and even those are too short. I'm rounding up because of the positives I mentioned in first sentence of the review, and because I tried valiantly until about 75% before I started skimming.

Where do I even start!?

I LOVED everything about this book.
This book had me hooked from the very beginning, literally.
As soon as I read the blurb I knew this was a book that I HAD to read, and it did not disappoint!
The FMC is a badass survivor who has a past she wants to get as far away from as she possibly can.
All she has to do is keep her head down and complete senior year at St. Ivy Prep.
However that might be easier said than done.
The three Kings are hot asf assholes, who do what the fuck they want. What else do I need to say?
..... okay okay, they may or may not have some redeeming qualities.
And then we have the Heir to the Knight legacy, who happens to be her English teacher..... and her stepbrother.
There's also other characters that completely stole my heart, but you'll have to read the book to find out about them! ;)
The storyline in this book is effing amazing and was the perfect balance of everything needed for a strong start to a series.
I for one will now be waiting very impatiently for book two!
I 100% recommend this book.

Woahhhh!!! What was that ending?! I NEED TO KNOW!!! I'm so invested in this story! Peyton is a very strong girl, after what she went through. I really fell in love with her! Shes got spunk and don't take no crap! Yes girl! The guys are the kind that you want to hate but kind of love (secretly) It has loads of steam! 🥵 Just the way I like it! Cruel Temptation is a dark, forbidden, RH high school romance with all the twists and turns.
I’ll admit I struggled a little at first with this book but I’m so glad it didn’t give up because the second half was amazing. That being said I have ZERO idea what happened or went on in this book. Wow!
I definitely enjoyed this book much more than I thought I would. This had an intriguing plot line AND the smut. It wasn't overdone on either or.
The guys were a mix of unlikeable and likeable. Our MC was strong willed, but so didn't necessarily realize the flaws she had.
I am very much trying to wait patiently for book 2 in December!

The guys were a mix of unlikeable and likeable. Our MC was strong willed, but so didn't necessarily realize the flaws she had.
I am very much trying to wait patiently for book 2 in December!

Thanks to Melinda Terranova for the ARC I received in exchange for my honest review.
I thoroughly enjoyed Corrupt Temptation even through the moments you know maybe you shouldn't. Haha. There is plenty packed into the first Savage Kings of St. Ivy book to raise eyebrows and have you constantly questioning, "Who is this girl? Where has she come from and where is she going?" Add in enough sexy sass to keep things fun and you've got a good thing going on.
I would have loved even one or two answers in this first instalment though; I'm not actually sure if I'm reading contemporary or PNR after the 'magic' and "What are you?" references made by Peyton and DAMN I am hungry to know!
I'm looking forward to continuing Peyton's story and enjoying more of her guys (Colton especially, ahem).

Great start
Wow great start to what I hope is going to be a series, a duet at the least. There is just enough spice to keep you wanting more. I would for sure say medium burn. The plot is great and moves at a great pace, but I have sooooo many questions.

I loved this book and couldn’t put it down. The main character, Peyton is feisty and fierce and I think there is a lot more to find out about her in the next books. I love how she fights back and stands her ground throughout the book. I can’t wait to see how her relationships with guys develop and deepen over the next book as well. The storyline gripped me from the start and I need to know what happens next!

Quick, efficient and deliciously twisted
A first read for me from Melinda and one I know I want more from, this world was something different and different in a good kind of way, there is mountains of tension, multiple interests, strong willed female characters and friendships that you can't help me appreciate!!! A great build up to what I can only imagine will be a great series

Whilst running from a terrible background, Peyton comes to live with her mum, stepdad, stepsister and stepbrother. You can probably see where this is going already but it gets crazier. Her stepbrother Colton is also her English teacher and he and 3 other guys have decided to make things difficult for Peyton. I like the connection between Peyton and her new stepsister and how they and her mum have a great relationship.
The relationship between each of the guys shows just how long they have known each other and what they have been through together. I really liked that it took a while for Peyton to be included in their group as it makes their relationship more believable and builds the sexual tension. However, I did feel like there was a lot of confusion throughout the entirety of the book and it just ruined everything.
I understand that the male main characters are in some sort of gang but how far does the reach of them go that they can just beat up students and no one cares. Or have bodies thrown out of cars at them or found randomly on the beach and no one says anything nor are there any investigations by police or worried parents. I also don't understand their interest in Peyton at first especially after warning her away and Steel threatening to break her.
I'm also not a big fan of Peyton on her own. She has been through awful things yet she seems okay with it all except for the way she gets relief from her life by cutting herself. There isn't any moment during the book, where something triggers her and she is reminded of something in the past. Also, a therapist is mentioned yet she doesn't visit them for the whole of the book despite the fact that she was used to pay her father's debt. I just feel that something like that would affect a person really badly and that just isn't shown here. I also find that she has no real backbone. She also threatens a lot and argues with pretty much everything but when it comes down to it she easily caves to everyone all the time. There isn't a moment that she doesn't want to do something so doesn't, she always moans about stuff and then goes along with it anyway.
I would say that this book is only dark because of some of the things Peyton was put through in her past however, it lacks any depth as she is so unaffected by it. If the author didn't want this element to change the story or affect the character in any way, why bother to give Peyton this backstory? Other small things annoyed me too like the fact that the principle's daughter hardly attends any classes so why does she even bother showing up? I also felt that because everyone was so unbothered by what was happening, that it made everyone seem suspicious and I spent the story waiting for the back-stabbing moment. But this never happened.
This is my first book by this author and I can't say I'm too impressed. I just felt that this story had no depth and I'm not entirely sure I know what the plot is or whether there really was one. I wouldn't recommend this book and I definitely won't be reading it again. I may try the next book just to see if I missed something good during the confusion I felt throughout this one but I'm not excited by it.

Holy tall dark and dangerous!! Savage, devious and at times straight monsters the Kings of St Ivy are not to be taken lightly. Peyton and the Kings gripped me from the very first pages! I absolutely love a strong badass heroine and Peyton has all of that in spades. There are so many things I’m trying to piece together and I refuse to give any spoilers but Colton, Steele, Hawke and Tyler have me so intrigued that I cannot wait for the next book.
