This practical guide to the drug-free, hands-on therapies of reflexology and acupressure includes the endorsement by expert consultants, easy-to-follow treatments to combat everyday ailments, detailed step-by-step colour photography throughout, gentle treatment tips to suit everyone, including children and the elderly.
This is a decent reflexology book for the beginner or someone who has a little knowledge of reflexology. It is the better of the books available as it shows color photos of actual hands and feet and the implementation of acupressure on points. It has more explanations than your basic reflexology book, at this point I’ve purchased quite a few and have been disappointed. This one I’ve gone back to when in need and it’s been helpful. It’s not my go to book but occasionally I will take a look to refresh myself and for quick relief points when in need.

This book is written in a clear concise and easy to comprehend manner. The introduction gives a basic overview of this alternative healing practice and provides 3 basic anatomical charts to be used along with the anatomical references made in each chapter in regards to the major organs, skeletal frame, and endocrine system.
The subsequent chapters cover: basic concepts, history, current relevance of treatment, reflexology, accupressure, & the treatment of problems. The treatment of problems section contains sub-categories: first aid, soothing pain, conditions, inner self, women & men. Each of the sections contain; color photos, well illustrated body charts, and visual instructions (with arrows) and hand/feet/finger/body positioning.
Also included are a glossary, index, and acknowledgments.
I like this book and I use it as a reference guide when working with clients & friends. It is easy to use & understand and does not get bogged down with either technical/scientific terminology or idealology. The reflexology charts are really clear as are the instructions for moving energy & direction of massage strokes.
This is a fairly basic book; a good place to start if you're looking to do some reflexology either on yourself or a partner for relaxation. It provides explanations, along with pictures, charts and graphs to illustrate the points and pinpoint exactly where the pressure points are. I found it easy to use, and when done correctly it truly can help what ails you. A good place to start for those interested in reflexology.
I knew nothing about the subject when I bought the book. I found it to be the perfect introduction to Reflexology and Acupressure. I found the pictures helpful, the history of the subject interesting, and then the fact that it was short and informative. I use it quite often and it gave me a really great place to start from.
