It wasn’t my fiancé’s place to bet me, but what do you expect from a man who’s being forced to marry you? Imagine my surprise when the man I met at a chance encounter, the same one I later learned was the don of the Italian mafia, is the one who claims me as his prize. As the daughter of a Russian member of the bratva, I’m supposed to be a peace offering for the Italians. But the don seems to have no idea about it. Settimo Gruco is rumored to be as sinister as he is dangerous, and I’m told if he learns who I am, he’ll kill me. But in a world full of criminals, he becomes the one I trust the most.
Settimo...
I won her in a poker game.
All I wanted was another night with the beautiful girl I met on one of the darkest days of my life, and her fianceé was stupid enough to give it to me. I tell myself Alex is just another girl, but she’s becoming an addiction, and I can’t seem to curb my craving. When I find out her connection to my greatest rival, I’m forced to weigh the benefits of keeping her alive. Despite where she comes from, I trust her. If my gut instinct is right, by the end of the war with the bratva she’ll be my biggest ally… if they don’t kill her first.
Tempers are rising, with threats closing in from all sides. In an escalating war, can two opponents join forces? Or is blood truly thicker than water?
From author Nicole Cypher comes a sizzling mafia romance with a modern Romeo and Juliet spin!
Alexa or Alex as she likes to be called is waiting form a funeral to start but she’s early this is where she meets Settimo who’s drinking and being alittle angsty. They get to taking and one thing leads to another there in the bathroom having a quicky. Suppose to be a one time thing since Alexa is engaged to a mafia son she learns who Settimo is. But that’s done and done she lost her virginity she knows what she has to do for the family.
As for Settimo he’s the new boss taking over and he’s also wants to claim Alexa again because why not he had fun and when her finance bets her in a game he wins her for another night. Things get alittle tricky now since both don’t know what they really want there’s also alittle secret as to why she’s marrying her finance. Drama between families and someone is betraying him.
I hated that Settimo used Alex few times when he found out why she was engaged to the family. It didn’t matter if her soon to be husband is gay. He still wanted her. Until things got alittle more dangerous for her. So he pushes her away says mean thinkings when she comes back.
The ending felt alittle rushed for me..and Settmio didn’t grovel enough for me when he said some harsh words to Alexa the last time they talked. I also didn’t believe they really loved eachother well I believed Alexa.. Settimo i had a harder time believing.
Low angst, om drama, sorta cheating (not between the mains) secondary chars, drama, sexy times, virgin gal and no manwhore

This is a Dark Mafia Romance, and this is the third book in the Gruco Crime Family series. I have read the first two books in this series before picking up this book, and while I think you could read this book as a standalone I think you really should read them in order. This type of book is not for everyone and there is stuff in this book that could upset a reader. I loved the characters in this book even if Lorenzo is still my favorite character. I really loved getting to know Settimo more. We got to see a little bit of his character in the first two books in this series. Alex's character really touched my heart, and I loved her character from the beginning. I love the connection that Settimo and Alex had to each other. This book had a great mix of suspense, action, and romance. I really enjoyed reading this book. I just cannot stop reading this series, and today I have spent time reading this series. I received an ARC of this book. This review is my own honest opinion about the book like all my reviews are.
This is part of the Gruco Crime Family series each book can be read as a standalone but connects via family but buckle up this is a wild ride, dangerous men, alpha’s personified, possessive, oh, so gorgeous, brooding all the makings of a story consisting with three D’s (dark, delicious, and dirty) 😊. There will be suspense, betrayal, death, darkness, secrets reveled, violence, hope, forgiveness, and maybe even love (ALL THINGS TO EXPECT FROM THE MAFIA WORLD). By the time you’ve figured out who is who and what is what, you’re already hooked, and you may as well give up the fight and prepare yourself for an all-nighter! CAN’T SAY YOU WEREN’T WARNED!!!!!! Settimo sexy as all get out Don of the Italian mafia has seen a lot, done a lot, but on one of his worst days a young woman crosses his path and one night wasn’t enough he wanted, needed more but she is now engaged also she is from the wrong family so their togetherness could create a war. Alex intelligent, feisty, angry to be engaged to a man she doesn’t like nor want to be with and he offered her up in a card game then lost meaning he was nothing more than a pawn which further angers now to be stuck further used as a pawn or so she thinks only to realize he just wanted another chance to show her that he is something more than the man who won her in a card game. She has been lied concerning the Don, he can’t be trusted but she learns there is so much more to the ruthless man she has been warned against, told to play her role as a peace offering and she is finally going to see what it is like to have a life with the man know as dangerous, ruthless but will it end with a war or can the families live a little peaceful, will he show her that there is more to him than his reputation but make no mistake he will keep her safe, he will protect her, but he will also love her completely and will he make sure she get that HEA she dreamed about?.

This is the third book in the series but can be read as a standalone. I didn't think much if Settimo in the previous books but he has won me over in his story. I really liked Alex and thought she was a strong character. She is in engaged in what is an arranged marriage. All her life she did what she was told but there is a part of her that wants to take control of her life where she can.
The way they met was so naughty and fun. The twist and turns kept me on the edge of my seat and the last couple chapters had me waiting in anticipation to see how it all would end. Also Lorenzo was great in this.
Settimo did annoy me during his date with Alex. He was being so cocky in his internal thoughts. "the girl is so embarrassingly under my thumb." ok, Boi, bye. He was just as much under her thumb if not more.
Interested to see what the other members of the Graco Familia get into.

I thought I couldn’t love anyone more than Lorezo, then I met Settimo. Settimo is the perfect Don - Hot, dark, alpha, with a big heart. This book was a tad bit darker then the earlier books in the series and it was HOT! I loved every page of this read and I can’t wait to read more from this world. The over all storyline has me committed for the full ride and every character I meet, I just love and don’t want to let them go!
I thoroughly enjoyed this book. Dark mafia romance, dark sexy alpha male. What more can you ask for. This is the third book in the Greco crime family series and I would recommend you read the first two books for the best reading experience. The concept for this book was fabulous and has you gripped from the get go. The twists and turns you don't see coming have you page turning like a demon and you will definitely sacrifice sleep to get through the pages. This book takes you on a steamy ride of shocks, seduction and betrayals and leaves you wanting more.
Another great book by Nicole. This one had a lot more action in it. Typical mafia book with a twist. Alexa was promised to Paolo. She is Russian and Paolo is Italian. Neither one of them wanted to marry the other for certain reasons especially on Paolo’s side. This book also involves Settimo who is now the Don of the Italian mafia. I don’t want to spoil this book but I highly recommend this series!!
Looking at the familia through the eyes of a don… what an experience! This book has it all: an arranged marriage, betrayal, crime, love, blood, hot sex, and compelling characters. I am working my way through this series and have found Settimo and Alex to be the most interesting couple yet. It is hard to believe the don could fall in love and be vulnerable to anyone, but Settimo does and he doesn’t even deny it like so many men do. He acknowledges his feelings and although he doesn’t always act the way he probably should, everything he does is for the right reasons. Alex is a strong female character who doesn’t let anyone take advantage of her, even in this world that is not so friendly to women. This was the perfect “first book of the new year”!

I knew Settimo's story would be good. I knew it would be a hard fall for him, but this surpassed my thoughts. Poor Settimo didn't know what hit him when Alex sits on his picnic table.
Finally Settimo is on deck. I knew there was something more beyond what we got from the previous books in this series. This book starts with the funeral of Syrus Gruco making Settimo the Don of the familia. He meets Alexa Volkov who is unwillingly engaged to Paolo Romano. They talk and Alex decides she wants to take something for herself. She gave her virginity to Settimo without really knowing who he was. This led to a series of misunderstandings.
Settimo is now the Don and Alex is under his skin. He knows Paolo does not desire her. He is able to set up a night with Alex, but it doesn't go as he plans. Alex finally reveals that he took her virginity and Settimo does what he can to make the situation right. Lorenzo is leery of Alexa. A Russian coming in at the exact same time that the familia is having trouble with the Bratva. Too much of a coincidence for Lorenzo. I feel like Lorenzo takes on Settimo's usual job, in the background gathering information to get a full understanding of the situation.
Alex and Settimo can't stay away from each other. In the end will their feelings be enough? Settimo always has to put the familia first. His first born son is supposed to be full-blood Italian. He cannot make the mistakes he made in the past. What are these two going to do when the past comes back to haunt them? I have been intrigued with Settimo since the beginning of this series. The book gave me everything I needed. I feel like I know him now. The women these men fall for are fierce and perfect matches for them.
Alex is due to be married to a man she doesn't want, so she decides to live a little before and has a wild night with Settimo, its a one and done until she comes face to face with him when her fiancé bets her in a game and loses. But is another night enough for Settimo well written steamy, desires, enemies to lovers romance.

Omg… I love this book so much! I have discovered what an amazing author Nicole Cypher is while reading this series. These are the first books I have read by Nicole and I seriously cannot wait to read more books by her in the future. The first book I read in this series, I will be honest - I did not like Settimo at all. But, this book has forever changed that sentiment. Talk about a swoon worthy alpha male who is the ultimate dream mafia don look no further than Settimo. He is loyal to a fault when it comes to his family. I do love the characters in this book and shockingly I found myself even liking Nikita who is our villain of the story. Nicole has delivered an original plot that is exciting, action packed, fun, entertaining, and filled with plenty of intimate scenes. The story kept my attention and I found myself unable to put the book down until I reached the end. Alex was a very strong and brave heroine who was admirable. I respected her and although she resented being used as a pawn Alex still managed to hold her head up high. Alex proved her loyalty to Settimo throughout the book and that she was willing to put herself in harms way to help him. If you are a huge fan of the mafia genre then you won't want to miss the Gruco Crime Family Series.
Settimo and Alex met shortly before his fathers funeral. They shared a steamy encounter without even knowing who each other are and it was quiet comical when Alex realized Settimo is the new don for the Gruco family. Alex is engaged to Paolo facing an arranged marriage between their families as a peace offering. Neither of them are happy about this arrangement. Settimo takes advantage of an opportunity to share an evening with Alex by winning her in a bet against Paolo. A one time encounter with Alex wasn't enough for him and he needs one more taste of the forbidden fruit. The chemistry these two share keeps drawing them back to one another time and time again. There is betrayal taking place within the organization and no one can be trusted. The possibility of a war between the Russian and Italian families is on the horizon. Each time Alex meets with Settimo endangers her life. There is a target on Settimo's life and time is running out. Is it possible for the Italian Don and the Russian girl to live a happily ever after together?
I received a free advance review copy of this book and I am voluntarily leaving a review.
Alex is waiting for a funeral to start, but she’s early…and ends up meeting Settimo…behind a park bathroom. Settimo seems a bit drunk and angry so she talks to him. Which then obviously leads to a quicky aka her losing her virginity, when she’s betrothed to someone already (a mafia son).
Settimo? Oh he’s the new don. And the funeral? Was for his father. He was very enamored with Alex, so much that he wants to see her again. He gets her fiance to bet her in a poker game, which he knows he’s going to win. This is when things get complicated. She’s Russian and he’s Italian. They can never be together…right? Do they even want to or is this just sex? And why is she marrying Paolo? Drama ensues between both families and someone close to him may or may not be a mole.
This was the hardest book for me to put down. Like I cannot recall one other instance where I was this consumed in a book. From the very first chapter I was absolutely hooked. Alex and Settimo were both such interesting characters and the whole Gruco universe was so intriguing for me. I’ve never read a Mafia book, so I don’t have much to judge it by, but I was so enthralled. I have never read anything like this and definitely nothing that captured my attention like this, especially so soon in the book. It’s hot, steamy, sexy, and has all the drama you could need. Not once did I find it slow, which probably added to why I could not put it down without complaint. I was hooked from the moment Alex and Settimo met behind the park bathroom. And the ending? Oh so much happens but I am so happy with the way things unfolded and concluded. The writing was phenomenal and the storyline was perfect. Now if there was a way I could get a bonus epilogue with Alex and Settimo’s mother. I would do some questionable things for that. I now have no choice but to go read the rest of the series so off I go. New favorite author incoming???
The story between Alex and settimo stole my heart. I haven’t read the other books that came before his prize in the series but I definitely will be checking them out now. I was hooked right from the first chapter and it increasingly got more addictive as the story went on. I really felt for the characters when they felt joy and sadness. I definitely cried over the tragic Romeo and Juliet type romance that they were trapped in. The Russians vs the Italians. Fated to be enemies and hate each other only to met unknown to each other whom the other was and to create a spark that wasn’t pressured or tainted by their past or present life. I really liked how secretive the first meeting was. How big of a shocker it was when Alexa got back to the church and saw him standing at the front of the church speaking at his fathers funeral. Loved it. I loved this story and I’ve read my fate share of mafia stories. This definitely had a twist to it. I’m sure the other books if read I order would have given me a lot more background information but I’m kinda of grateful I went in blind because it gave me a chance to go into and not know what to expect from the characters or the storyline. I would recommend this to anyone looking for a great mafia romance book. The spice was good even if it was kinda pg13 haha. It was a very balanced and great story overall. I will be adding the next book to my tbr. Definitely a new fan to the author! I received an advanced review copy for free, I and leaving this review voluntarily.
Although this is book 3 in the series and we reconnect with characters from the other 2 books, it can be read as a stand alone in my opinion.
Here we have the Don of the Gruco family - Settimo - and Alex, the young manipulated daughter belonging to the Russian Bratva and betrothed to a man she doesn't want to marry (rumoured to be gay) .
So far, so intriguing.
The stage is set for the funeral of the serving Don, Settimo's father. Cue his first meeting with Alex and sparks fly, oh boy do they!
Ultimately, he sets himself up to win her in a poker game and so the push and pull begins.
I have been waiting to read the Don's story having read several of the others in this series and it doesn't disappoint.
His Prize, brings us war and rumours of war between the 2 main crime families, poor Alex used as a puppet and Settimo slowly (oh so slowly!) coming to terms with the fact that he is attracted to Alex and can't let her go.
The angst is real. Settimo and Alex are from opposite warring families, is there even a remote possibility they can be together? What about Alex's impending marriage?
Another well written and crafted book in this excellent series.
My only reservation is that I wanted a little more from Settimo regarding his feelings for Alex but no matter, he is after all the cold hearted Don. It comes with the job.

"I've wanted you since the day I met you. I just didn't think I could have you. Turns out, I can have whatever the f*ck I want... if you'll give it to me."
All honesty, I was not expecting Settimo to be such a softy straight away when it came to his girl. I was not mad about it though because their story was actually real cute. The side he shows Alex was immediately different. I mean the first thing he said was a joke… like THE Settimo?! Are YOU joking?! I loved it!! It was so weird and not what I expected from the glimpses we get from previous books but I thought it added to the fact that she was the exception from the start. Alex’s character was a bit vanilla. I was hoping by the end she’d have a strong backbone and do something huge or heroic but that didn’t happen. Still thought she was precious though.
I was however a bit disappointed at the lack of connection/ emotional build between the two compared to other books (e.g. Lorenzo and Amelia’s book). This was definitely more war/ plot based which was still enjoyable but I was a touch sad that we didn’t get to watch them fall in love. They kinda just… ended up there 🤷♀️
Overall though, I enjoyed it and I cannot wait to read the rest of the series (seriously hoping Anthony gets a book). I received a copy of this and am leaving this honest review voluntarily <3
This is book three in The Gruco Crime Family series and it is Alex and Settimo's story and it is definitely a must read. Alex is in a arranged marriage to a man that she not only dislikes but also doesn't want to get married to do she decides to go out and have some fun and that is when she ends up spending the night with Settimo not knowing exactly who he is. Settimo is the Don of the Italian Mafia and on the worst and darkest day of his life he ends up spending a night with Alex not knowing who she is but for some reason he can't seem to forget her and would love another night with her. Imagine both there surprise when Alex is put up as the prize in the game to win by her fiance and Settimo wins her giving him another chance to spend a night with her but then he finds out that she is the daughter of his enemy and now he has a difficult decision to make. I absolutely loved this book and the chemistry between Alex and Settimo was so strong and intense and it was really great to watch how they grow stronger together and are so perfect for each other. The twists and turns along with danger, suspense, betrayal, war, deceit and difficult situations that have you turning the pages to see what the outcome would be for them and I can't wait to read more book's in this series.
Settimo is the new Don, and ruthless doesn't even start to cover it. When he meets Alex on the day of his father's funeral, he is quite taken with her, but will never admit it. He believes she is just a Russian girl, engaged to the son of his Capo. The more he gets to know her, the harder it is to let her go. Is she a spy? A pawn?
I love a good Mafia novel, and even more, a good romance. Nicole Cypher has delivered on both counts here. Settimo is deliciously dark, and brutal. Alex desperately wants her own life, not to live as a trophy wife of a made man who doesn't want her either. Up until the end, I didn't know how the Hero and heroine would get their HEA. Trust the author, I know, I know. This is the third book in the Gruco Crime Family Series, and it can be read as a stand alone. Do yourself a favor and read them in order though. They're all fantastic, and you'll know the other Gruco family characters that way, and what makes them tick. This is a five star read, and well worth the one click.

Well this book starts of with a bang and doesn't slow down! A chance meeting for Alex and Settimo gets sizzling hot really fast and when they find out who each other really is, it doesn't make things any easier for them. He's Italian, she's Russian, Never the two can mix when he's the new leader of his people and she's been forced into marriage to another man to pay her father's debts. As much as they shouldn't want to be together, they can't resist the pull they have towards each other. When Settimo wins her in a poker game, Alex isn't exactly thrilled with the situation, but soon realizes he is everything she wants and needs. Other forces are trying to keep them apart, but they can't give each other up. There are so many plot twists that happen that I didn't see coming and when I thought I knew what would happen, something else entirely would actually happen instead. Made it for such a enjoyable read! This is book three, but a standalone. I would recommend reading the others, if for no other reason that they are so good themselves and I am waiting in anticipation for the next book!
His Prize is book three in the Gruco Crime Family series.
This is the first book by Nicole Cypher I have read, and it won’t be the last.
This is like a Romeo & Juliet retelling.
Alexa (Alex), is the daughter of a member of the Russian Bratva and is engaged to Paolo Romano.
Settimo is the Don of the Italian Mafia.
Alex first meets Settimo at a funeral. They end up having what should be, a one night stand. That is until her fiancé, Paolo, bets her in a poker game, and Settimo is the one who wins her. He is more than happy to have the chance at another night with her, until he realises exactly who she is.
The chemistry between Alex and Settimo was quick to take place and even though Settimo tries to keep his distance, he can’t.
This is a fast paced read and does focus a lot on the Mafia aspect. It is easy to read and entertaining.
Even though I have not read any of the previous books I did not feel I had missed anything, as each book is a stand alone with their own happily ever after.
If you are going to read this I would recommend reading the series in order.

A book that has twisted plot and is good enough to grip you with it's pages .
Settimo is a powerful man who is infatuated with the only girl he can never have . What happens when he buys the girl as a prize in a casino game ??
Alex a girl who has accepted her fate , is habitual of what her destiny would be now she is signed off to a made man and she wants to let go of the only thing she is in control of her virtue . What will happen when she gives her virtue to the enemy's leader ...the Don of Italian mafia .
This book is a fabulous read with a blast of thrill . The relationship is forbidden but that's what makes it an enjoyable read .
The best part of the book is the twist and turns come when you least expect it .
Also this book portrays emotions well and they go straight to the reader's heart .
I loved this book through and through and I know I'll come back to read this one again and again
Alex is the daughter of a Russian bratva member and engaged to a member of the Italian mafia as a peace offering. She ends up spending a hot encounter with Settimo (not her fiance), a head of the Italian mafia. After their encounter they meet up again when Alex's fiance bets her to Settimo in a poker game. They have another hot encounter. Settimo is a dominant, controlling, rough guy, even in the bedroom. At times I really didn't like him, especially during the times he thought and treated her in a not so good way. This book is like one long mystery. What is really going on between the two crime families? What is the real reason Alex is being given as a peace offering? The story does contain some violence, but I didn't think it was as much as other mafia stories. There are a few suspenseful moments, and nearly no humor. I don't think this would be a good book for someone looking for a light read or in any way a happy sunshine story. It's not super dark, but does have some darkness. I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.
This is Book 3 of the Gruco Crime Family. This can be read as a standalone but it might help to read the previous books to meet some of the characters mentioned in this story.
I was so enraptured by the storyline, I finished it in one night. It was riveting. I loved reading about the development of the relationship between Settimo (ML) and Alex (FL). Alex is a strong woman trying to make the best of her circumstances. She is constantly being forced to show her loyalty and she never fails. I could feel the loved Settimo had for Alex, as he was willing to let her go for her safety. I won't lie, you will probably dislike Settimo as the start, but he does get better as their relationship develops.
There are a few shady moments which might make some readers uncomfortable. Some non-con earlier in the book between the two main characters. Also cheating is involved as Alex is arranged to be married to someone else, however her fiancé has other partners as well.
Overall, I loved the story and thought it was very well written and I can't wait to read the rest in the series!
This mafia tale was ok. The plot moves quickly making this a very fast read. I think most people will really enjoy it.
I had some issues, and i hate to be like this, but that's what reviews are for. Get characters are very superficial, here is no substance beyond the bare basics. I don't know anything about the female lead other than she is Russian virgin going to art school and working at her father's butcher shop. The hero? I know he is the new Don, an alcoholic, and it takes his brother pointing out things for him to get suspicious. Goodness. Blood going the wrong way for sure.
The plot is predictably backstabby with certain people, surprisingly loyal with one i thought at first. I don't think she tried to make that part shocking though. It was the ending that shocked. And it did!
I've given it four stars, though for me it's 3.5.

After the death of their father Syrus ,The Don Gruco. Settimo the eldest of the Gruco brothers has to prepare himself to become Don. And that's some big shoes to fill. We meet him just before his father's funeral has begun,he seems broken almost lost in his own turmoil. He meets a beautiful woman called Alexa,Alex she prefers, a Russian woman who is being made to marry someone in the familia. Unhappy with her life being forever out of her control she makes conversation with a broken man hiding behind the church. Alex has such a strong character you cant help but immediately like her and want to have her back. Their relationship is so much more moth to a flame, than the other books. But with the unsettling times with the Russians Settimo has his hands full!
I love how each brother's love interest has been as different as the men themselves. Rather than some authors who mafia\bratva love stories may be good, seem to all run on the same story outlines.A refreshing change. Great book.😍
Family politics could work as the sub-title for this book – complicated family politics. Alex was deeply caught up in it as she faced an arranged marriage that would bind two crime families together. She wanted to rebel. Escape. Just when she thought she’d gained an ounce of control back, her walk on the wild side led to the start of this wildly unpredictable, always watch your back, ride…
The life is all about family but it was also brutal. Sometimes subtle, often times in your face bloody, it was a tightrope. A deadly game with no clear winners. The losers, however, always felt the pain first. Settimo and Alex danced this walk with secrets and lies, the families, between them. There were lots of twists and turns, perhaps too many maybe, but their path was littered with passion and a thirst for love. And that dance had me following closely, just one step behind.
‘His Prize’ is Settimo’s story in Nicole Cyphers Gruco Mafia series. He’s the new Don and meets Alex while waiting for his father’s funeral to begin. They don’t know each other but have an instant sexual attraction: she has her own motivations and he finds her stunning. Their story is filled with secrets, violence, intrigue, and betrayal while they manage to meet whenever possible.
Settimo is dealing with unrest in the ranks and the Russians. War seems inevitable, trust is nonexistent, and no one wins. Nicole’s plot is complex, the action non stop, the narrative and dialogue is extremely fluid as the story progresses. The sex scenes are explicit, steamy, and so filthy! Nicole does a wonderful job showing Alex’s strength of character, her compassion, and her fight. A really great addition to the series and I loved the ending!

This is a first read from this author and it wont be the last. This is the story of Settimo and alex. Settimo has just become the dom as his father has just passed and Alex is a Russian girl who is in an arranged marriage to another man,Paolo, who is Italian. Settimo and Alex have a brief but steamy encounter and they don't know who the other person is. There is alot of twist, turns, suspense, betrayel and lies. You can see Settimo is in love with Alex but because of traditions and what has happened in the past(which you do find out about),he tries to fight it,but one thing happened that made him look hard at what he wanted for his future and finally fight for it and not make the same mistake twice. I have to say I really really hated paolo to start with but towards the end you could kinda understand what he went through with his dad. I loved how it worked out for settimo and Alex in the end,but was sad to finish their story
This was another exciting read in this mafia world. There are several players as the Italians and the Russians are uneasy with one another. They all want happiness and power and don't think they'll be happy or settle down. This H took what he wanted and now he wants more.
She has now gone from being forced into a marriage she didn't even want into that AND sessions with someone she does but they can never be.
Or can they? As boss, he should've called everyone out and pursued his lady. I was absolutely stunned at the connection he has with the Russians' boss. It was sad and I felt for this h. She is a pawn for so many, it would have been so much better for him to put his foot down upon realizing what she meant to him. He was a younger guy back then compared to now but I still wished for him to really explain to her just how he needed her. What drama! 4.25⭐️/2🌶️ Oh, Settimo. From the previous book, His Pet, I honestly did not think I was gonna like Settimo, but man, did that change once I started this book. Alex’s father works for the Bratva and has arraigned her to marry Paolo of the Familia that Settimo is the Don of now that his father had died. Both Alex and Paolo do not want this marriage and Alex decides once she sees Settimo and he is interested in her, she wants to lose her “innocence” on her own terms and hooks up with him. Both didn’t know who each other are and then even once they do, they can’t stay away from each other. It was really great to see how Alex grows up throughout this book and learns how to stick up for herself. And it’s also amazing to see Settimo break down his walls and let Alex in.
