A 'bargain' book, non-glossy pages, and only 500 species...not exactly 'encyclopedia'. Maps very basic...NO information regarding sounds!! Descriptions are okay and includes nesting/eggs. A VERY basic bird book. It remains on my shelf because I DO like the large photos of the birds in their habitat! It was worth $5.99 that I spent on it for the photographs.
