The perfect book for all bibliophiles. Filled with a multitude of bookish quotes some well known some lesser known.
Here are a few of the lesser known which I particularly liked.
Of course anyone who truly loves books buys more of them than he or she can hope to read in one fleeting lifetime. A good book, resting unopened in its slot on a shelf, full of majestic potentiality, is the most comforting sort of intellectual wallpaper”. -David Quammen

This book is said to be "Quotes for the Bibliophile in Your Life", and, since I am a self-proclaimed bibliophile, and others have said that of me as well, this book was perfect reading for me. Every quote was better than the last, and they were all wonderful representations of bibliophiles! People from all civilizations and time periods were quoted....but the quotes are as timeless today as they were yesterday.
This book was broken into chapters: Chapter 1: One-Liners, Chapter 2: The Magic of Books, Chapter 3:
The Power of Words and Writing, Chapter 4: A Precious Gift, Chapter 5: Mirrors of the Soul, and Chapter 6: Famous Lines From Famous Books.
For example, who hasn't read or heard this one? "It was the best of times, it was the worst of times, it was the age of wisdom, it was the age of foolishness, it was the epoch of belief, it was the epoch of incredulity, it was the season of Light, it was the season of Darkness, it was the spring of hope, it was the winter of despair..." Charles Dickens, A Tale of Two Cities.

This is so precious! I bought this book from the Bodlian Library gift shop at Oxford University on a recent trip to Oxford.
It’s full of quotes from books and about books and any book lover needs this book!
I think it will be something I always look back on and dip into now.

I received this book from my dear friend, Katherine Kollman, for Christmas 2023 and thought it would be the perfect book to launch my 2024 reading life. It was!
