Overall good book, informative, covers the topic, thought-stimulating. Some explanations were repetitive and too stretched in my opinion.

Bonus:

Ebook is free to download on Apple Books 📚

This read as a cross between a text book and a self help book, and I honestly think I would have enjoyed it more if it had been more text book focused. It was a delicious little taste of dark psychology and how it’s involved in our lives more than just with personal relationships. I would have liked to see case studies included with some of the examples given too. However, the last chapter on NLP was SO intriguing!!

3.75 stars. You learn stuff from this story that you otherwise would not even be aware of. You discover the true nature of manipulation and the more profound significance that lies beneath that which is fascinating. The story was really interesting to read and taught me a few new things.

Great basic overview

This covers a wide variety of the basics of manipulators’ tactics. A lot seemed obvious, but sometimes we don’t recognize things that are hiding in plain sight for us. The author did well with covering it all. The only thing I would say could improve would be the technical writing. Some of it came off as a high school research paper, and some words were even repeated within the same paragraph. So, the writing may not be the most eloquent, but it was a nice little review.

Mind

The mind is a powerful gift and a tool.
Applying Bible principles (another gift and tool) heal the mind.
Both have been misused with disastrous results.

Easy to read and worth the time

This was very well written and I appreciate the references along the way. Solid points and advice on staying safe from a manipulator. This is important because you can’t always just remove yourself from a toxic situation. There are sometimes scenarios where it’s just too late and this book outlines all the signs to see if that’s where you’re heading. It also ends with a whole chapter on being a positive influence to others. Very well done and I recommend this.

I know this might sound a bit creepy, but I kinda enjoy "The Dark Psychology and Manipulation" by Margaret Morrison. Exploring the realms of human psychology, particularly focusing on the darker aspects that influence behavior and interpersonal dynamics.

You probably know the famous book called "The 48 Laws of Power" by Robert Greene, well this is like the pocket version of it dan lebih ditone-down karena memakai perspective psikologi.

Despite the controversial, both book can be educational, especially for learning defense mechanism for some kind of negative behavior such as manipulation. There's tuns of practical approach that can be handy for our daily social life.

Overall, "The Dark Psychology and Manipulation" is a valuable resource for those looking to protect themselves from manipulation (or leaning manipulation 😝) and understand the psychological underpinnings of such tactics. It serves as both a warning and a guide, urging readers to stay vigilant and informed in their interactions with others.

A very interesting book. This book is well written and the arguments are effectively considered.

There is a very careful discussion of manipulation. More importantly, Morrison offers powerful and convincing strategies to manage manipulators. Excellent.

Information on sinister controlling/manipulative people who target the kind-hearted people of the work (their preferred target); But, they don't stop there, as they will exploit anyone who that happens into their environment.

3.5 really. This book is totally my type of thing I enjoy learning about. The beginning is amazing. Middle is blah, and the end is good. Some of the writing was hard to follow as well. But this kind of stuff is so fascinating.

The book is small, but still absolutely not worth the time. You can read the ‘Afterword’ chapter, and get the whole idea in a minute.

No specifics, no examples, no directions, just general phrases repeated again and again in differently named chapters. Should be an article in web-magazine at most.

Not really my cup of tea when it comes to reading material, but figured I’d try my hand at it. This book is repetitive, but very well thought out and written.
