Positive Influence was a hardcore fanzine done by Anji Lum and Buster Cates from San Pedro, CA that existed from 1988-1989. This anthology collects all six issues along with a new 21 page introduction featuring never before seen photos, flyers, stories, ephemera, etc. You know the deal - every page of the original zines and then some.

Los Angeles-born Anji Bee is a vocalist, lyricist, podcaster, vidcaster, and fanzine creator.
She and her husband, Ryan Lum, launched the Happy Healthy Vegan channel on YouTube in 2013 to share their laid-back vegan lifestyle and have since built up a subscription base of over 200,000 viewers with over 53 million views.
The duo also create music together and have independently released over a dozen albums, EPs, and singles under the name Lovespirals since 1999. Anji has also released an album and several singles under her own name and contributed vocals to many collaborative projects.
Anji has extensive experience as a music DJ, moving from terrestrial radio to Internet radio to podcasting. She currently produces and hosts one of the longest running music podcasts, The Chillcast, begun in 2005.
Prior to digital social media, in the 1980s and 90s, Anji created a series of music fanzines, providing written pieces, photographs, artwork and design in addition to handling the business of production and distribution. An anthology of her 1980’s straight edge hardcore fanzine, Positive Influence, was released via Shining Life Press in 2022.
Anji’s DIY ethic has served her well in today’s digital culture. She conceives, films, edits, and uploads her own unique content to YouTube, Instagram, and Facebook, as well the Happy Healthy Vegan website.
Anji released her debut vegan cookbook, Keep It Carbed, Baby!, in 2016. Her follow up project, Happy Healthy Vegan Cookbook, was released in late 2020.
