Un piccolo libro militante e necessario. Ci ricorda che c'è un unico filo che lega tutte le nostre lotte e le nostre vite. E se lo tiri ci porta tutti nella stessa piazza.

I'm so grateful to my best friend Gabri who gifted me this book. Turning the pages of this collective diary was 100% better than reading online newspapers' articles about it. The story of the GKN workers' resistance is one that will make you dream, but it's not a dream. It's reality. It's happened and it's happening in a country broken by political apathy and institutional unwillingness to change. It's an example of unity and insurgence to take back what it's ours: not only the salary, but a livable Planet, a good life, peace, our rights.

I will transcribe and translate one sentence that keep on resonating in my head since I've read it.

Vedremo se saremo cronaca o storia. Ma riusciremo a essere storia solo se saremo tutti. E se saremo tutti, saremo diversi.

Let's see whether we'll be press material or history. But we'll be history only if it will be all of us. And if it'll be all of us, then we'll be different.

Questo libro è come un diario, ma di un collettivo. Il modo in cui è scritto coivolge il lettore e lo remde consapevole delle emozioni in atto. Ma allo stesso tempo forse è più opportuno leggerlo se si conosce la vicenda. Seguiamo per sei mesi le vicende del Colletivo di fabbrica Gkn. Un mesaggio importante che passa è che non si è soli. E forse bisognerebbe ricordarselo più spesso quando si aspetta di entrare in battaglia senza guardarsi attorno prima.
