R.G. Alexander's 'Children of the Goddess' series just gets better with the second book, "Lux in Shadow". A quick warning that THIS book IS erotica and involves a menage of M/F/M. There are also scenes of M/M, M/M/F, and M/F including the use of toys, light bondage, a hot spanking, and sex in all the orifices I can think of. All of this is done well (and smoking hot) and rolled into the story of a vamp, a were, and a werewoman-with-special-powers-who-can't-change-forms. Whew!

Damn what can I say...this is one hell of a series. In Lux in Shadow we have Lux, Sylvain and Arygon's story and it's a great one. All three characters are amazing...fierce, strong willed, honorable and sexy as hell. It's definitely not for the faint of heart, loads of steamy sex so hold on tight, cause it's one hell of a ride.
Highly recommend.

The story gets a 3.5 Stars, the well written heat and erotica push it to a comfy 4 stars.

The author has an engaging writing style which kept me entertained. The chemistry and bond beween Lux, Sylvian and Arygon was what made this book for me. The first book was a nice read, this is hot.

The book could do with being a tad longer, and few things fleshed out a tad more, but still a really enjoyable read.

This book is amazingly sinful and I would recommend to all. It's the reason I started looking into gay romance. I loved the dynamic between Arygon and Lux. You can't help but fall in love with Sylvain as well. Unlike other threesome books, you never feel as though one of them just got thrown into the loop. You can completely see and believe why they must all be together. ...more

Holy Moly!! What a SMOKING HOT book!! Loved every single minute of it!!
Lux in the shadows:

Or "Lux Meets His Mates" as I call it...

Lux lost a lover to his carelessness at the end of the first book (Regina in the Sun), now he's met his mates- both of them- and he's afraid to let go and love them. One, a male werewolf, has been chasing him since he met the sexy pierced vamp healer- the other his destiny, the ethereal Sylvain (sister to his sister-in-law). Only passion will bring them together and only Lux's fear and Sylvain's secrets will keep them apart. It will take

The mythology in this book is fresh and very, very clever. I really like the world that R.G. built and I couldn't help but read the rest of the series. As a whole, this series is freakin' awesome with some twists and turns that never even crossed my mind. Brilliant stuff! You'll see this same review for all four books, though the ratings may vary a little. Midnight Falls (Children of the Goddess, #4) by R.G. I'm truly enjoying this series. In Lux in Shadow we find that Lux wil not only find his mate but two mates. We learn more about the war between the Truebloods and the Were's as well as those black magic Shadow weres who are at to kill all, themselves included. That the unborns who were thought to be an abomination are necessary to the peace of all. I'm finding it a must read. ...more

Lux Sariel has been tormented by guilt in the five months since his lover was slain by the old and feared enemy, Les Loups De L'Ombre, the Shadow Wolves. It has changed the once easy going and openly sexual Trueblood healer, making him a male of control and self denial. On a quest to find the protected sister of the now dead Shadow Wolf leader Grey Wolf with the gorgeous and sexually aggressive Dydarren werewolf pack Alpha Arygon, the fruitless search and sleepless, nightmare-filled nights are g ...more

Wow! This was a good addition to this very entertaining series.

The only problem I've had with this series is that the books are not long enough. When I get done. I always feel like there should've been so much more. I don't know how to explain it, except to say that there are times when I turn the page and actually end up going back to make sure that I didn't skip a page.

The authors writing is very entertaining and engaging. It keeps your attention and keeps you interes

*blushing redder*

I get the story. I get the emotional dynamic of a self-assured ancient trio of magickal beings. And I get that, if you've lived a couple of hundred years, you get less fazed about boundaries and ownership. It's something that some of us even experience in our limited lifespans. So it's cool to see that in writing.

Though I found a few hinges and screws loose in the writing (a proofreader could've helped with some of that), the erotica was probably too blinding for any editor to s

Lux in Shadow is book two in R.G. Alexander's Children of the Goddess series. Lux Sariel is haunted by the death of his former lover who was murdered during an attack on his people. With the help of Arygon he must find a woman Sylvain who has the power to save his people. Her life is in danger and Lux and Arygon must find her before the Shadow Wolf does. When Arygon and Lux find Sylvain they discover that the three of them are mates, which only complicates the situation more.

Similar formula as the first, though there were three in the main relationship this time instead of two. Lots of hot sex. Little bit of dom/sub. Interesting story overall, but I can't put my finger on why I didn't like it as much as the first. I just didn't. Maybe I didn't feel the same kind of buildup in the relationship? It seems they "got to it" very quickly compared to the last one, but then again, we learned Lux is a horndog in the first book, lol. I'm looking forward to reading #3 though, ...more
First paragraph: “No!”

Lux shot up from the grassy riverbank, his eyes haunted. He ran a shaky hand through his hair, the sounds of water and scent of the new spring grass recalling him to the present.

Another one of those damned dreams. Penance for the blood on his hands.

Despite mainly rave reviews of this book here, I could only do a "meh". Maybe I'm more vanilla than I realized.

An erotic take on the standard Vampires, Werewolves and Magic oh my. Children of the Goddess has all the usual paranormal creatures but in a much more compromising position. This series has an ongoing plot, repeat characters and constant introduction to new faces. This is not your standard erotic romance there is straight, gay and bisexual encounters so be warned.

I was really frustrated with this book. I couldn't get a feel for the characters at all, they seemed shallow and not very fleshed out at all. This also isn't a very long book, so I'll take that as a reason why. It seemed like big chunks of character development were missing. I may see what else this author has on offer, but I don't think I'll finish this series. ...more

I'm actually really impressed with this series. Why am I shocked? I guess because the first book was a free Kindle book at the time. The 1st one sucked me in, so I bought this one. I will definitely read the next one. This 2nd book had a bit too much M/M sex scenes for my liking. ...more
