Heather Renee has done an excellent job with Altered Magic, the sequel to the first book in the Fated to the Wolf series, Shifted Magic. Andie may have gained some magic but the problems are still building up. Andie has to learn the magic she has and get hers back from Moria. The coven is still under threat because Moria is still coming and won't stop until she gets what she wants and the wolves may be caught in the crossfire. Finally, if that wasn't enough Foster is put in very real danger. It was a great read.
I love Andie, she's adjusting to the magical world much better now. She's learning magic and facing her troubles head-on, no matter what. Andie is persevering, overcoming the obstacles in her way with Foster by her side. Foster is such a fantastic mate, he cherishes Andie and supports her in all things and through all the issues they have to face. Andie and Foster grow even closer in this one, I love seeing their relationship head in the right direction.
As for the others, Beatrix is showing a more caring side (don't worry she still has that snarky side) and I understand her better in this one. Of course, I have to mention Charlie. Andie and Charlie have a fantastic friendship, it's like they picked up where they have left off and have an incredibly strong bond like Andie never left and their bond is only growing stronger. I love Charlie's spunky attitude and quirky sense of humor and wouldn't mind her having her own series.
There was major information dropped in this one. Andie learns more about her past and her powers, and a huge secret is revealed. Plus there was a twist I really enjoyed and would love to go into detail about. The reasons behind Moria's attacks have been discovered and have me asking a whole lot of questions. I loved all the witchy stuff, seeing Andie get the hang of things was great. I can't wait to see what she can do when she's at full power.
Altered Magic had Andie, Foster, the Coven, and the Pack face some major problems and the devastation at the end of this book broke my heart. I don't know how many books are planned for the series, but I hope Andie gets a HEA. I need the next book like I need air, I need my heart to heal. My impatience may be a little short with this series but it's only because of how much I'm enjoying it.
