Okay! We’re back to where we need to be. The beginning was a little slow and I was worried we would spend the whole time talking about the play BUT the last third of this definitely changed the tone of this manga back to what we saw in volume one. My interest feels renewed and I’m excited to pick up the next one.

i want aqua to be happy and to enjoy acting. i hate how he is being held back by his trauma 😭 it's breaking my heart.
i don't think this happier time will last. this all just feels like the calm before the storm.

I wanted to love this volume, but I just thought it was decent. I liked the stuff with the 2.5D Stage Play Arc, especially the intense performance battle between Kana and Akane. However, it's very overdramatic. It's hard to take too seriously at times. Specifically, seeing Kana hold back due to her deep seated insecurities, resisting the need to claim the spotlight, felt very heightened. I think this scene, in particular, is going to be much stronger in the anime for that reason alone. The voice acting and production values will give these scenes the necessary life and emotional punch, I think.

But overall, I still like Aqua's overall mindset and mission. I think his "acting is revenge" thing he's got going can be really unique, especially as he is forced to confront his trauma and painful memories of his mother, Ai, to achieve a necessary emotional breakthrough for his role. And there's an amazing part of him in how he failed saving his mother; all of that underlying motivation is great. I'm interested to see if we're going back to focus on the murder mystery or if more drama, perhaps involving Ruby and the new B-Komachi, shall pop up first. A 3 out of 5.

Oh? Is that a resolution I see? Can Aqua finally just live a normal life? What an unforeseen development.... I'm not sure how long it will last... Also, DNA samples come back??

A suivre.

A voir.

Wirklich Chef's Kiss mal wieder!

I remember how shocked I was when I read the first volume of this series. The darkness and tragedy that started it all was not what I was expecting from the cover. In this volume, we're reminded of some of that darkness (it's not like we ever had much of a chance to forget it, to be honest).

Aqua seems to be making breakthroughs in life and acting. He seems to have reached a turning point, a positive one at that, but I can't help but feel like something worse is just around the corner. Ruby is also thinking about things more deeply than we've seen in the past.

I've requested the next volume, but a part of me is worried that the somewhat bright and hopeful ending in this volume is about to be blasted by a torrent of darkness. I'm not going to lie, I'm kind of bracing myself.

Aqua telah menemukan kebenaran. Setelah pementasan Tokyo Blade yang berhasil. Mereka mengadakan pesta minum-minum.

Wah keren sih.

Another solid entry from Aka Akasaka (writer) and Mengo Yokoyari (artist). The battle of acting to begin the story was clutch and I found myself enjoying it more than I imagined I would with the lead up from the previous volume. Aqua's acting for revenge is very unique. I think things like this is what makes the series stand out more and more. There is a bit over-the-top moment, but for me this seems to work well in the setting and situation. This series definitely touches on real emotions and while we may "think" they should act a certain way...at times I feel the people act more like real people in the situation, which may or may not please some readers. Another solid entry!

Conflict in Aqua: Resolved!… or is it?

Who’s going to tell my man that Ai called Aqua’s dad when he was like 6… (The Blade Actor said that his dad died when he was 5, and he is now 20, so the dad died 15 years ago. Aqua is 16 so when the actor’s father died, Aqua was one…) Unless it was someone else. In that case, we will continue to beat the dead horse until it turns into the zebra from Life of Pi.

Also I’m starting to like Aqua x Akane but Aqua really just needs to choose one girl.

E Aqua continua a tramare.

Mmmmh...vedremo...comunque Aqua è sempre magnifico.

this series still amazes me! the moment I saw the english translation volume was available at my bookstore, I bought it immedialy.

I cannot wait for volume 8 to be released and see where the new b komachi goes and how aqua adjusts to life after the news he’s received.

10/10 will always recommend this series.

As the play begins, the spotlights shines especially on Aqua and Kana. The characters are trying their best to showcase what they have to bring to the productions as actors. From there, Aqua makes a big discover which leads to a major turning point in his character development. It's interesting to see how the author is able to keep things fresh overall with the plot of this series.

Took me a while to finish this volume because when I found out where this story is heading, I lost interest in continuing it.

Decided to finally finish reading this volume today and I enjoyed seeing Kana and Akane shine in their own ways. Also that plot twist, wow!

Between the stage show conclusion and what happens next... I don't really know what to expect from this series.

The focus here changes a bit, but there are hints that some big things are to come... Once again, a masterful mix of exploring the idol culture and the human mind.

this volume breaks out the soap opera staple of [REDACTED] which feels like a bad move so early in the series' life cycle? But also the impetus for oshi no ko's entire narrative can graciously be described as a bad move so idk maybe he knows what he's doing. I'm still here so

One of my favorite manga about the Japanese Entertainment Industry. No holds barred. It's not a "if you just try hard enough you can make it" story. Nope. This story is dark, gripping and intoxicating

A potential half brother based on a DNA test, Aqua loses the star in his eye, and the play wraps up with Kana really being a total powerhouse while also giving us some details on her backstory. This series is spot on.

Final part of the Tokyo Blade arc. Aqua's growth and end of his obsession will be interesting to see in future volumes. I loved how they addressed how traumatizing your mother dying while holding you would actual be.
