The Army Inside You teaches children how the microbial community inside us affects the body every day, from nutrient absorption to mood and behavior. This book will inspire children to consider their microbes when making food choices and unlock the mystery of gut friendly superfoods. Cutting edge research broken down into kid friendly language will transform the way your child sees their body and the food they eat.
Using illustrations and photography, the concepts within this book come alive for young readers. Children as young as age 3 can learn the scientific concepts within The Army Inside You, providing real life application and meaning.
I know it’s a children’s book. But honestly a really good crash course for anyone who doesn’t have an understanding about the microbiome or wants to learn about it. Loved it. Will be giving it to my friends.
The Army Inside You is a short and sweet, as well as highly education and fun way to introduce food and gut health in a positive and encouraging way, to your kids. I read this with my kids and we thoroughly enjoyed the illustrations and mental pictures the descriptions gave. What an encouraging way to introduce healthy food choices and the way these choices affect our bodies and health. I definitely recommend this to anyone with kids or who teaches kids, to teach children how important the food we nourish our bodies with is. Also, it is so important to understand the gut-brain health connection, and this little illustrated book is a great way to introduce gut health and the importance of good vs bad bacteria, as well as fermentation. I can forsee a read-through of this making it more fun, perhaps, for your kids to try some of those foods, if it is a newer thing. what a way to teach health to children! Beautiful book.
