Originally published in 1989, Ruth Seitz's "Pennsylvania's Historic Places" takes a look at 31 different historic sites in the Keystone state that not only transformed the history of Pennsylvania but also the US as a whole. From well known places such as Independence National Historic Park, Valley Forge & Gettysburg to lesser known places such as Bush Run, Cornwall Iron Furnace, & the Museum of Anthracite Mining Seitz covers each stop along the way with detail of photographs taken by her husband of the various locales. The book itself is actually very easy to read & is still very relevant 25 years later since all of the sites remain to this day. This is a must have for anyone with an interest in travel Pennsylvania history & travel & is a bargain at any price.
