At 10, my world was ripped out from beneath my feet. Nothing made sense anymore. Suddenly, I went from being a happy kid to just downright pissed off. I didn’t need anything except my dad, sisters and the woman I considered my mother, Rainn. Despite the anger that boiled below the surface, I set out to achieve my goals—being accepted into the AFP and following my father’s footsteps in wearing a Wounded Souls patch. Life was pretty good; I moved up the ranks to VP of the new Souls chapter and left behind the badge I’d worked so hard for previously. Then Nova happened, and life got a little complicated. And just like that … I wanted something so desperately, I was willing to put my heart and pride on the line. I wanted my wife to love me.
NOVA
My life took a turn that sent my world careening in the wrong direction. After losing our parents in separate accidents, years apart. My sisters and I learned to lean on each other. Our father had checked out years before he was killed, so lost in his grief from losing his wife. Chevy, Shelby and I ploughed through life with only each other to depend on—well, we had James too. My father’s former partner, James, offered us stability, support, and a way for me to keep my family together and thrive. With James’s help, I achieved financial independence and a growing status in the small business world. Finally, life was getting back on track, then I went and did something so incredibly stupid. I thought it would be a good idea to go and fall in love with my husband. Now all I had to do was stay alive long enough to find out if he loved me too. Easier said than done when a dangerous, crazy loon put a target on my back.
I love romance. I read constantly. Seriously it’s an obsession. I started reading romance at 12 years of age and haven’t stopped since. My mind is always thinking of new story lines, new alpha’s that will capture their woman’s hearts. I’m in love with love.
I don’t normally go for MC romances (hence for the 2 stars 'cause I'm really not into those themes) but I came across this one by accident and read a bit of the epilogue and noticed it was different.
This is a story about a 40 yr old Hero & a 23 yrl old heroine who have been married for 5 yrs. Hero was BFFs with her late Dad who asked him to take care of his girls (heroine & her 2 younger sisters). Hero married heroine at age 18 in order to keep them all together and to provide a roof over their heads.
In 5 yrs, they have not consummated the marriage and Hero has been CELIBATE! Yep – you read it right. For an MC read, this one remained not only true for all 5 years, but he didn’t ever engage in typical club-bunny behavior that you normally read in MCs books. In fact, we don’t get that theme in this one at all and I guess that is what kind of made it special.
Age is a factor here folks since Hero is twice her age, but what I liked best is that he is not only loyal, but very protective of his “girls” (all 3 of them) and downright an Alpha when it comes to his “Curves” – aka heroine.
Safety: Safe. No cheating. No sex scenes with OP. Hero celibate & heroine a virgin.
This is what we get about Hero’s past:
I guess what I do want to know is, was Val right when she said you are getting laid and being with women behind my back—”
“No!” I expelled loudly, “that is complete and utter bullshit. We took vows, Nova, you have my last name. I don’t take that shit mildly. We entered the sanctuary of marriage together, and knowingly, the circumstances behind that don’t change my commitment to you.” Nova’s face went from embarrassed to complete shock. Her beautiful hazel eyes popped like a cartoon character.
“You … you … five years!” Nova stammered disbelief colouring her tone.
“Yes, for five years, the only action my dick has had is with my right hand, and occasionally the left.” ----------- I was thinking about the fact that she was untouched. It was a waste of time to wish I had the same inexperience as her, simply because of our age difference. I lost my virginity before Nova was even an itch in Mick’s pants.
My past relationships, before Nova, had been short. One night preferably, but definitely no longer than a month. I liked to keep things casual with a woman, no serious talking, no deep feelings, and no talk about the future. The thought of going through a relationship, catching feelings and maybe proposing was scary as fuck. Once, a girl I had been seeing for five weeks thought we were heading in the marriage direction. She picked out rings in catalogues, circled them and left them for me to find. When I didn’t take the hints she was putting down, she confronted me about it. I tried to let her down gently, telling her I wasn’t ready for marriage. She laughed off my nerves, and stood right in front of me and informed me, if we didn’t work out we could simply just get a divorce. The easy and nonchalant way she said that word pissed me off. Old memories surfaced and I asked her to leave and never come back. I didn’t want to be with someone who had such a cavalier attitude to being married.
To me, divorce was the ultimate failure and betrayal. My name meant something to me, and I wanted … no, needed my wife to feel the same way.
Nova respected her married name, and she used it with pride. She could have stayed with Sinclair, but she chose to take Steel.
Nova was the only woman I trusted not to screw me over and the only one to have my ring on her finger. ------------------ “Nothing wrong with being inexperienced, Curves. That doesn’t mean there is anything wrong with you.”
“I know. That isn’t my problem, what she said is what I am pissed off with her about the most. I chose to stay a virgin because I took my vows seriously. Our marriage might not be the conventional kind, but we are joined by the vows we took together. I honour those, we might not be true husband and wife, but I took your name in good faith. I will not disrespect you or the name Steel by lurking around and sleeping with random guys while you are doing everything in your power to see that my sisters and I are happy and looked after, plus—” Nova reddened a deeper shade, but she didn’t continue what she was saying.
Fuck that.
“Plus what, Nov?” I encouraged her, not prepared to let her stop talking now. Not now we were finally discussing us.
Looking up at me through her long lashes, Nova gave me a smile that lit her up from the outside. Then rocked me to my very core.
“You mean so much to me, J. I could never do something like that to you. Not you.” Her words were sweet and soft, her voice breathy and shy.
Goddamn, how did I manage to nab this stunning, sweet creature?
“You mean a lot to me too, Nova. And so do the girls, I take my commitment seriously. I would never hurt or disrespect you either. You know that, right?”
“I never believed what Val said, not really. I mean, I would understand if you need someone to help you … you know,” she spluttered with a wave in the general direction of my lap, and being cute as fuck doing it. “But I also know you would do it in such a way not to embarrass or humiliate me.”
My smile dropped from my lips, and my face heated up with indignation. How could she possibly consider that shit? Didn’t she know me at all?
“Nova, let’s get one thing perfectly straight. My dick hasn’t left these pants for any other reason other than hygienic reasons and a change of clothes. I wank it in the shower but that is all the action he sees. I am fully in this marriage, don’t doubt that, Curves.”
“You … you, play with yourself in the shower?”
“Fucking oath I do. How can I not after seeing you dressed in those high-heeled fuck me boots you insist on wearing? And those tight as fuck denim dresses and leather skirts, I am sure you wear them just to tease me into a day-long hard-on.”
“Me?” Nova squeaked, her eyes lighting up with happiness.
At least one of us thought it was good I walked around with a perpetually loaded cock.
“Yes, Curves. You. I’m a red-blooded male, after all. I may be forty years old, but I ain’t dead, sweetheart. You are sexy as fuck, and I don’t think you are aware of the appeal you have. Men at the pub fawn over you all the fucking time, and it fucking makes me furious that they are looking over your body like they have the fucking right to,” I growled, jealousy rising in my throat, leaving an ugly taste in my mouth.
I did DNF though at 30-40% because the writing was a bit immature and I found myself bored to death, but I appreciate Author finally giving characters morals & decency. You don't often find fictional romances where characters stick to their vows (no matter if it's fake marriage or not), so for that alone, I thank the Author.
Sweet nibblets ! . Wow . His Choice the newest book in the Wounded souls Queens cliff chapter has made this reader considering pulling up stakes and Moving to Victoria! If only these boys were real id definitely consider it . lol 🤣.
Leah Sharelle knows how to keep her readers on the edge of their seats and totally hooked on a bunch of burley smexy Bikers with hearts of pure gold. This is why she is one of my favorite authors and her books stand proudly on my book shelves.
Nova and James were amazing characters and in Nova, the way she sacrificed so much for her sisters the way she put others first her heart shone so bright James was screwed from the get go.
James had his hang ups because of his mother and what she out him and his sister through he never wanted to be treated like that he never wanted a marriage. Creed and Raine were his mum and dad as far as he was concerned and worshipped the ground they walked on .
But Nova had his heart and he'd do and did whatever it took to keep her safe and happy even when she would willingly sacrifice herself to save those she loved . It burned him to the core that she would put herself in harm's way but Nova wouldn't be Nova if she didn't.
Lots of twists and turns through out this book and some new faces joining the ranks and I do hope that Nova's sisters get a happily ever after as well, I think there could be a story there right Leah? Nudge Nudge Wink Wink 😜😉 .
The only issues I had with this book is I would have liked that Thayer had some sort of closure in regards to her father that maybe he had of acknowledged her in some way at the pub scene I just felt that was a bit flat for me . And I would have liked to have known if Nova was infact pregnant.
But all in all Leah has outdone herself once again. I'm so looking forward to the next book in this series as well as Doggs book . Bring them bad boys on baby Mama's got some obsessing to do. ☺️😉

Loved this story with James and Nova it was a very touching story that goes straight to the heart.
Nova was a character that suffered great losses and had to become an adult before she had the chance to be a teenager like everyone else. For Nova she did what she had to do for herself and her sisters and made sacrifices for them, but, we never felt she was angry because of those choices just that her life took her on a different path, and she would do well and become successful. Loved the slow burn romance and the chemistry she had with James, she was super sweet and shy and loving.
James is a sweetheart, we actually felt bad for him but, at the same time, he too made sacrifices to save a family who needed his help and guidance which would be highly praised but, James is just the kind of man that never regretted the choices he made. When we say we felt bad for James, we mean his feelings for Nova as he warred with his conscience time and time again and their age gap was a factor, he just never wanted to put Nova is a position to regret her choices. We loved how he always put her first before his own needs, and we loved that he constantly referred to Nova and her sisters as his girls.
The Flock and the brothers and Shiloh made an appearance this time around, and we loved that. This story had a bit of suspense and more than a few surprises to keep the story interesting. As always, loved the characters and Battle, you kept the story fun with your wisdom, and you're teasing I look forward to seeing what is coming out of your mouth next to make us laugh. Final thought is that this author is genuine and always writes from the heart her stories just engage your emotions time and time again, and she never fails to make you fall in love with her characters.
Nova and James story had so many twist and turns I couldn't turn the pages fast enough and I definitely couldn't put it down. No matter how their relationship came a about these two are perfect for one and and I can't wait to see what the future holds for them, Chevy and Shelby, as well as the rest of the Wounded Souls.
Omg Leah you did it again!!! His choice is an amazing book!!!
The love Nova and James has for each other is endless!!! Yes there marriage may have started out just on paper but that change as their feeling grow. Yes it may have taken James a bit to realise he was in love with nova and wanted more with their marriage then just on paper!!!! James not only loves Nova but be also has brotherly feeling for Nova two sister and he would do anything for them
Bring iron Serpents men into it but bring a whole another lot of love stories and a whole mother MC that I can't not wait to read about!!! And maybe Nova sister will be some of their love interest!!!!
Leah if I could I would give you a 10 star rating.... I can not wait for Breaker’s book to come!! Bring it on!!!
Here we go again dipping into the world of the wounded souls queenscliff chapter and I can honestly say I was not prepared for all those twists and turns leah dragged me through. Absolute brilliance but so was not ready. I absolutely loved being in their world again and reading about the new and the older generations. I am in total awe.
Kojak was all that and more and Nova she was just everything. That is all I am saying on that and in the words of one of leahs man Deck...... enough said.
I would absolutely recommend this book and author to anyone who loves an epic love with a good storylie and alot of emotions and laughs aswell as twists and oh my lawdy I never even contemplated the twist of all twists. I hope you love this book as much as I have. I adore the wounded souls and cant wait to see what mischief they get upto next. Happy Reading ♡
Oh my sweet heaven!! This book has hit me in all the feels!! Kojak has been hiding something from his brothers and when it all surfaces, he and Nova find their life taking many turns. Least of all, the danger that seems to follow them. The twists and turns had me gasping for breath but the unexpected turn in their relationship set my heart (and other things) aflame!! I absolutely love this series and the OGs too!! Cannot wait for more!!
What another amazing book in this series!!!! J married Nova to help her and her feisty sisters to help them in the beginning , but feelings happened and neither wanted to be the first to admit it. When Nova’s life is in danger, J and the souls do all that they can to help. Having cameo’s of all previous souls is great and I love how leah doesn’t forget about them. I highly recommend this book.
Once again Leah has left me speechless ! ☺️ This story has so many twists and turns I got cross eyed 😂! That's how you know it's an amazing book ! I'm a fan for life and can't wait to see what happens next ☺️
His Choice is the perfect title for this fourth book in the Wounded Souls, Queenscliff Chapter. (The cover is a perfect fit too!) This is Kodak’s story or James Creed, ex Australian Federal Police undercover team leader and now Vice President of his MC, the same MC his father helped build but just a different chapter now.
James left the AFP in disgust after the killing of his teammate and the way the government treated his teammate’s three young daughters, Nova, Chevy and Shelby. James seemed to be the only one to support the girls in their quest to get what they were owed. Somewhere along the five years since it had started things changed, Nova has become a lot more in his eyes and he battles with the whole concept. He truly has the best morals and values, his whole life is about being loyal, supportive and above all honest. As you can tell he’s a terrific character and one who is easy to fall for as you get to know him. 😉
Nova is a great character, she has such strength and is so capable. Tackling what she had to from such a young age matured her well beyond her years in so many ways. Chevy is a total sweetheart but I love when her back gets up… roar! Shelby.. oh well, she can be such a pain in the neck but a loveable one. 😀
Thayer’s father makes a return in this book… oh joy—not! He truly is an evil character. The situation in the story continues with old Stan the man, well he thinks so, and escalates to an incredible level where the excitement and intensity is almost manic. I loved every bit of it. I particularly loved the little twists and turns in the plot as well as the return of many previous characters. Mind you there are some very poignant moments in this story, both good and bad, that hit you right in the middle of your heart.
As you can tell, I thoroughly enjoyed this book and literally devoured it in one sitting! The whole series is terrific and I a recommend it to everyone.
What a twist! After the death of his mentor, James steps up and does everything he can in order to protect the three daughters left behind, which involves marrying the oldest daughter, Nova. Keeping this secret for five years, everything comes to a head when James finds out that maybe his mentor’s death wasn’t what it originally seemed, and it seems that they are coming after Nova next. He kept his feelings towards Nova locked down because he felt it wasn’t appropriate because of their relationship and age, but Nova seems to feel the same way about him, and when everything starts to happen and Nova is hurt, it’s the wake-up call they both need to give things a go. This book was quite the wild ride, and I found myself on the edge of my seat trying to figure out the reasons behind everything and who was behind what. Thankfully, Nova and James get their HEA and the flock takes in Nova and her sisters. I can’t wait to see what happens next, especially with Nova’s sister! I voluntarily read and reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.
James aka Kojak was a surprise for me but he shouldn’t have been. Regardless of who his biological parents are, he is Creed Steele’s son forever and always.
James is in hot trouble with his parents for keeping something so important from them. His own family which includes his wife and sister in laws.
James and Nova has had an unconventional marriage up until now. Platonic, friends. However it all changes now that the threats to Nova are more real than ever. James can’t stand the thought of Nova or her sisters coming to harm.
Now, if you know Leah, you know she loves to FREAKING KILL OFF PEOPLE WE LOVE!!! She’s a blood thirsty pirate. Can you give us a freaking break for a while? Not even us readers but the whole MC would like a break from burying people. Please!!!
Anywho…I obviously loved this book and I adore these characters. I can promise you will love this book regardless of you are a new reader of Leah or long time fan.
James "Kojak" and Nova have been secretly married for five years but recently their feelings have changed and they don't know how to muddle through this. Add in the danger surrounding her father's death. When the flock gets involved all I can say is watch out Nova. I loved this story and I can't wait for more. This group of characters intermingle the original Team 5 members and I love the kids with with the parents. Leah Sharelle is one of my go to authors and she never disappoints!!!
I ABSOLUTELY LOVED IT! As usual another amazing addition to the Wounded Souls Series. I love Nova and her sisters characters so much. They're all so different but they all fit together perfectly. Nova is strong but vulnerable, Chevy is the sweet silent and innocent type but stands up for her sisters when needed, and Shelby is the outspoken, wild child. She's definitely spent too much time around Nova's friend Valerie. She is a hard core loud mouth who suffers from diarrhea of the mouth. I didn't like her the first time her character is introduced. The way she jumps right in disrespecting James in his clubhouse in front of everyone. All I could think was WHAT A B*TCH! I'm glad Nova put her foot down with her even though they are best friends I'm glad she stood up for James. Anyway, James and Nova's relationship is definitely different. It is so heartwarming the way James stepped up for Nova and her sisters. It was so heartbreaking to think about all the loss they suffered through. First to lose their mother then to lose their father twice, once to work and then his life. At times I felt the inner monologue of Nova and James was too long and I just wanted it to get to the point. Nova is so insecure about her relationship with James and left her constantly questioning herself. I just wanted James to man up and go alpha on her. When he finally does It was such a relief. When he finally pulls his head out of his butt and gets busi at rocking Nova's world it was set your crotch on fire smokin hot! Lol! At times the suspense got so intense I was jittery trying to read faster to find out what was gonna happen and once again Leah had me crying the ugly cry. But not as bad as losing Darth. Lol. There is alot more of Leah's Aussie lingo in this book and had me cracking up. I love it when the Flock get together and it always nice to catch up with all the girls. And the guys. I really think at least one of the kids or grandkids should turn out like Shiloh as a child, an ornery little spitfire who rules the clubhouse with lots of laugh out loud moments. The news about Nova's father left me with my mouth hanging open and sad at the thought of Nova and the girls finding out. The surprise at the end was kinda shocking.I can't wait to find out what's gonna happen. Will he or won't he. Lol. I extremely recommend this book and the whole Wounded Souls Series to everyone!
And……she’s done it again! His Choice is my newest favourite! The relationship between Nova and Kojak is wonderfully unique. Their story has so many fantastic twists and turns that I read the book in one day! I couldn’t put it down. I laughed, I cried ….the usual Leah sharelle.
I can’t recommend this book high enough. The absolute extraordinary thing that Leah Sharelle has is a passionate heart. When you read her books ….you can FEEL the character as though it’s a friend.
OMG...... What a read. It was fantastic to see the original s included in this book. It was fast action, twists and turns and very romantic between James and Nova. 😍😍😍😍 Then you bring in THE FLOCK. I want to meet the flock too. Incredible. So looking forward to the rest of this series and the new Iron Serpents MC.
4 1/2 stars for me. I loved Penny, her strength, her love and loyalty to her sisters and James, her innocence. James was so protective of Penny, Shelby, and Chevy. As these two realized their true feelings with all the secrets coming out and the danger surrounding them, I was taken on an emotional ride with ups, downs, laughs, tears. I highly recommend this story.
I received an ARC, and this is my unsolicited review.
I throughly enjoyed this new book His Choice, more and more of the MC Brothers are getting there story’s told, this is Kojak and Nova story. The Wounded Souls MC is an exciting series that branched out from Ballarat to The Queenscliff chapter MC, we have all the sexiness from all the men and strong women behind living and having there backs. I’m looking forward to so much more from these sexy men.
His Choice had me hooked from the start and on the edge of my seat. A marriage of convenience might become so much more but with an age difference it has James aka Kojak hesitating to show Nova that he has developed real feelings for her. As danger lurks in the shadow James will do everything to keep the woman who owns his heart safe. It was action packed, steamy and packed with drama. It will make you laugh, have you holding your breath and have you feeling every emotion possible. Their story has a few twists and turns that will have you captivated by every page. The icing on the cake is the appearances by the OG’s and the Flock. Another entertaining and heart pounding story in this amazing series.
This is the fourth book in this amazing series and is Kojak / James and Nova’s story. James has a huge heart, and he promised his best friend that he would take care of Nova and her younger sisters. James and Nova have been married for 5-years when Nova was 18, to keep the family together, and she has sacrificed so much for her sister. This is a well written story which is and emotionally charged age gap romance, with choices, twists, intrigue, family, friendships, and love, which leads to a touching and entertaining page turner which had e on tenterhooks throughout. I look forward to reading more from this talented author whose work I highly recommend.
Goodness! This series just keeps getting better. James and Nova come together in an interesting way. They have a beautiful friendship and undeniable connection that warmed my heart. This group of people have an amazing family dynamic, they are always there for one another, loving each other and making sure everyone is safe. I do not know if I could love this story anymore than I do.
Age gap romance. Marriage of convenience turns into the real thing over time. Loved J and Nova as a couple. She had to grow up quickly becoming a parent to her sisters from a young age. James marries her so the sisters get to stay together. Lots of intrigue and new characters.
Holly Hell each one of these books are amazing there stories loves alpha caring big family ties are amazing hot men feisty women kids they have it all each club member are amazing
As always, another great read from Leah Sharelle! Loved the beginning, middle and end and can’t wait to see what’s in store for Chevy and hopefully Holt!
