From the first moment I saw Reagan Turner at the bar and restaurant I help manage, I was drawn like never before. She was dating someone at the time, which meant she was off-limits, until the jerk broke up with her. I can’t get her out of my head, can’t stop wanting to kiss those perfectly lush lips. Fighting this attraction has been my kryptonite.
So, I give in to temptation.
Now, all bets are off. One touch, one kiss, one night will never be enough. Of course, I wasn’t factoring in us working together, which means I have to keep my desire—and my hands—to myself.
Should be easy enough.
Reagan
There’s something about the charismatic, flirty bar manager that pulls me in. When my boyfriend breaks up with me via text message, I suddenly see Garreth Taylor in a whole new light. He’s gorgeous, fun, caring, and everything a single woman could ever want. And for some reason, he seems to have his sights set on me, even if he doesn’t say it outright.
So, I make the first move.
The result is both explosive and dynamic, and before I know it, one night turns to two. He has a hang-up, however, about being professional while at work, and draws a line in the sand.
Looks like I’ll have to show him how fun it can be to cross it.
Avid reader, writer, mother, and wife! I love to read contemporary romance. Add in a little "spice" or hot guys in uniform pants, and I'm a happy woman. There's just something about diving into a book and engrossing in the magic of your hero and heroine getting their happily ever after.
What a cute and ALL-THE-FEELS this story was. I adored Garrath and Reagan together. The banter at the beginning of the book had me LOL and it continued throughout the story. I loved how much he was fighting his feelings for her. He was burned before and thought she deserves the best. Reagan was such a powerhouse. She had a few bumps on the road but was not going to let that slow her down. I loved how she took control at the beginning of their relationship. Together they were fire, and I was invested from start to finish.
Everything about these friends to lovers was amazing. From the way they were crushing on each other to the way they loved one another. Lacey Black can do NO wrong in my eyes. She keeps delivering with each story she puts out and if there ever was any doubt how amazing her writing is, this book will squash that in a heartbeat.

Garreth and Reagan are SUPER-SMEXY, SIZZLING and COMPLETELY ADORABLE!!! What's It Gonna Take is the surprise 5th book in Lacey Black's hilariously funny, sometimes angsty, but ALWAYS INCREDIBLE Burgers and Brew Cruë series...and this one is the BEST of the lot, so far!!!
Garreth is the manager at the bar with the Cruë, he comes across as the typical flirty bartender (especially with Reagan!) but you get the sense there's MUCH more to this one! And, oh my stars, IS there! I absolutely ADORE Garreth!!! He's everything you could possibly want in a BBF...cheeky, sexy, sometimes over-the-top cheesy/flirty but not in a creepy way, protective of those he cares for and a touch Alpha as well! Reagan is one of my favourite heroines from Ms. Black! She's strong, sassy, sweet and knows what she wants and isn't afraid to go after it! When her ex-douche dumps her via text and then shows up at the bar (where he KNOWS Reagan will be) with his secretary hanging all over him, shows just how much character she has (as well as shows us the first hint of Garreth's protective side!) *swoon*
This friends-to-lovers, banter-filled addition to this series, which just keeps getting better and better, is an incredible example of Lacey Black at her very best! I am so, soooooooo happy that we still get MORE of these swoon-inducing, heart-palpitating characters that feel like family!
The latest in the Burgers and Brew Crüe is What's It Gonna Take. All of the crew have taken the fall and found their happy ever after so who's left, right? Well, we haven't met Garreth but we did hear of his arrival as the bar manager in Jameson and Madelyn's story. Now we make a jump forward a few years before getting back with the crew.
This is Garreth and Reagan's story. While Garreth is new to us Reagan isn't, she's Madelyn's cousin and we saw quite a bit of her in book 4 and I'm glad she's getting inducted into the crew wives.
Garreth and Reagan have fantastic chemistry and banter and it makes the friends-to-lovers, workplace romance my favorite of the Burgers and Brew Crüe. I kind of hate saying it's my favorite since he's not an original crew member but it was just a great story I really loved.
I'm excited to see there is another story coming our way. Look forward to it. . . . Reagan is meeting the girls for girls' night and it's a night she needs. She's just quit her job giving no notice and having no new plan just knowing she can't work at the bank anymore. The night turns from bad to worse when her boyfriend Justin shows up at the bar he knows she's planning to be at with his secretary. Turns out he broke up with her but she just doesn't know it yet. Life sure knows how to kick her when she's down.
Garreth has been lusting after Reagan for years but she's always been with some guy, so while he can't date her he can certainly flirt with her. Every moment of flirting with her gives him a buzz he craves. Now watching her tell her dumb ex off for being such a moron he wants to both punch the guy and take her for himself. As usual, the timing is off, no matter his desire for her once the partners suggest she work at the bar for a while to help them and her out he knows that he has to put boundaries in place.
Thankful to the partners for giving her a job while she figures out what to do next she finds that while it's like nothing she's done before she does seem to enjoy the job. Her only problem is she has no idea what to make of Garreth. He's usually flirty and playful with her but since she started working he's lost that and she's surprised to find out that she misses it.
After talking with her friends she decides it's time to confront Garreth about his conflicting behavior towards her. With everything out in the open the two can't deny how much they want each other. Falling into each other they agree that outside of work they will be different from inside. The reality of that isn't quite as easy as they thought. 'This changes everything. Once I go up there, I'll want more. I'll crave Reagan like never before, even if we just go back to being friends. I'll just have to prove to her we're more than friends. I'll show her we can be something great. Something real. She's mine and doesn't even know it yet.'
While figuring out what exactly they are to each other and how to make the building relationship work they find only support and love from their friends and family. Everything with them seems to move so fast and the two still aren't sure where they are going or what they can become but they no longer care how it seems from the outside. When you know, you know. 'This. This right here. It's passion and rightness. It's two people, coming together as one. It's magic. It's us.' 'Garreth once said this is our story. We get to tell it. So that's my plan. To live our life and tell our story. Together.'
This book had me hooked from the beginning. I read it in less than 24 hours. I couldn't put it down. The amount of love I have for this book went beyond my expectations. This book had some of the best banter and I loved it. If you are looking for a flirty, sexy male lead look no further than Garreth.
It’s easy to say that I adored Garreth and Reagan. Reagan finds herself at her lowest, she just quit her job and discovered that her boyfriend broke up with her by text….which she finds out when she sees him on a date with someone else Garreth who has had a crush on Reagan is there to support her and it doesn't take long for her to see her friend with a new set of eyes. Needing a job, Reagan takes a job with Garreth. As her boss, Garreth works hard to not let his attraction cross any employer/employee line. When their chemistry and attraction can’t be denied, Reagan decides to confront Garreth and things get spicy. It was so much fun seeing Garreth resist Reagan at work. It was easy for everyone to see the sparks between the two and try to get them together. Including Reagan’s grandmother. I never laughed so hard. I have a soft spot for spitfire grandmother figures in books and Reagan’s did not let me down.
What’s It Gonna Take is the 5th book in the Burgers and Brews Series, which is one of my favorite series. This is a standalone with interconnecting characters. I loved seeing all the wives, guys, and their kids from the previous books. This close group of friends know how to tease each other. After the teaser for the next book, I'm excited for more from this "crúe"
I recommend this book for those who love light, fun, friends-to-lovers, or workplace steamy romance reads. Be ready to laugh and swoon.
LOVED LOVED LOVED!! Garreth and Reagan are so sweet!! I loved them and their chemistry. You get some steamy moments with them too!
Garreth is such a sweet and lovable character. I really enjoyed getting his story and knowing him better.
Reagan is one that you can't help but love.. She is something special and I enjoyed her personality.
This story flowed and kept me invested until the very end! I wanted more of these two characters. Plus getting to see the others from the series too. I love the bond these guys all have too. They are a family all on their own!
Lacey Black has got a new release in her swoony, steamy Burgers and Brew Crüe series and y'all.. my heart. I've loved this series from the very start of it and this newest book? An absolute favorite of mine with this crew and what a romance this was. Expected in every way because that Lacey formula just works but still.. so so addicting, unputdownable and completely unforgettable.
What's It Gonna Take gives us Reagan and Garreth’s story and y'all, just wait until you dive deep into these two. Steamy, intense, packed to the brims with allllll of the feels.. this friends to lovers romance is gonna steal your heart and keep you hooked, from the first page to the last.
This book. This series. Y'all of you haven't met this crew then you absolutely need too. Heart, heat and emotion on every page.
This one was fun! We knew Reagan from the last book, but Garreth was a new comer that popped in the end of the last book in the final pages. It was fun to get to know him and how he blended in with the guys so well. I also thought it interesting that we learned he's had a crush on Reagan pretty much since he came back to town and always missed asking her out when she was single and he wasn't going to let that happen again. Sure they had the odd work thing to work around, but with so many other bosses, it could have easily been avoided, should things have become an issue, which it never did. It was fun to see them start things and find time to be together while working screwy hours. The surprise at the end wasn't that big of a surprise, I thought what happened would happen when we were given the hint early on. I did like how Garreth reacted to it, nothing like that to alleviate Reagan's mind. The ending was cute, love to see all the excitement.
Garrett and Reagan's story is just so sweet. I loved it! Right from the start, everything was just so easy between them. Sometimes, I need something like this in between books. An easy-to-read, sweet romance. I think it's particularly sweet that Garrett and Reagan have a crush on each other but they didn't make any move. Not until later on. But once they gave into their feelings, it was oh so delicious. They captured my attention with Garrett's flirtiness and Reagan's shyness but can definitely handle her own against Garrett's flirty ways. I loved these two! I wished there was an epilogue after they had the baby though. I would love that so much. I can't wait for Leo and Kallie's story next.
Surprise, the series is not done! The Burgers and Brew Crüe are back. Garreth and Reagan are the best couple yet! The flirting, the chemistry, and the steam.
Garreth is the bar manager and does a little bit of everything from hostess to tending bar. He is also smitten with Reagan; until she becomes his employee. I love how she asks why he does not flirt with her anymore. We all need a Garreth, swoony, dirty talking, heart of gold, great guy.
Thank you to the Author for the advanced copy; this is my voluntary review.
Lacey Black once again delivered a perfect 10, Reagan and Garreth lit up the pages this series has delivered time and time again, and I for one, am so pleased that Ms Black extended this series and the Burgers and Brew Crue are going from strength to strength.
The connection between Reagan and Garreth has been a simmering volcano, just waiting for the right time to erupt, the banter is off the charts, and I loved the back and forth between the pair, which was well choreographed. This friend to lovers romance is tinged with many emotions, when Reagan leaves her job and goes to work at Burgers and Brew, her crush on Garreth accelerates now the pair are working together and Garreth can't deny he loves pushing Reagan's buttons, and although he has feelings for her he has been trying to keep things professional, this is one story that will keep you on a swoon-worthy emotion high from start to finish.
Garreth once said this is our story. We get to tell it. So that's ,my plan tell our story, together.
Oh, this was fun, flirty, sexy, and so entertaining. I couldn't put it down. Garrett and Reagan took my heart and I just loved their interactions and how she went after what she wanted.
This is probably one of the top 5 books I have read so far this year!! I absolutely love this series and it is just getting better and better!
Garreth is the new manager at Burgers and Brew. He is great at his job and just overall a great guy. He has had a crush on Reagan for years. He never acted on it, but now that she is single, he wants to make her his.
Reagan is the best!! She loves her friends and family and is super happy for them. She quit her job and is out of a job until the guy offer her a waitress job. The only problem is that now she is around Garreth all the time and can not get him out of her head.
I LOVED Garreth and Reagan together!!!!! They are so cute and perfect for each other and so sticking cute!
This story flowed perfectly and I could not put it down! I cannot wait for the next one!
I was so excited to hear that we were getting another story in the Burgers and Brew Cruë series and let me tell you that Lacey Black has done it again! This friends-to-lovers, workplace romance was completely worth the wait. You’ll find hot, steamy moments with witty banter mixed in and little drama. Garreth has become one of my top favorite characters. He was everything you would want in a man: real, swoon-worthy, a gentleman, and an all-round genuine guy. Reagan was an independent woman who knows what she wants and will go after it. Garreth and Reagan’s chemistry was off the charts and I loved seeing how the relationship developed and progressed throughout the story. A bonus was catching up with the rest of the Cruë characters and their expanding families. I loved this story and would definitely recommend it, as well as the rest of the books in this series. I can’t wait for the next one and what’s in store for those characters. I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving an honest and unbiased review. Even though I received this for free, I have purchased the ebook copy of this book and the rest of the series for my Kindle.
What’s It Gonna Take is unique in its own right. The plot, and subplot didn’t overtake the whole storyline and become some huge farce. It made for a really well rounded story, making the chemistry between Garreth and Reagan the showstopper. It gave a chance for the development not to be overrun, and the pace be perfect.
In addition, I got the chance to really get to know these characters and understand them on another level. Garreth is one swoony mf. He had me wrapped around his pinky finger with just his internal dialogue. I love how he can make anyone laugh at any given time, and how he was just the “average guy” with a heart of gold. Raegan was the spit fire. She knew herself better than most heroines and never doubted her decisions. I love how open and honest she was.
I was never ready to let go of the Burgers and Brew Crue, so seeing them and their significant others only made this book that much more better.
*I RECOMMEND ‘WHAT’S IT GONNA TAKE’
P.S. I look forward to a certain someone’s book and I know, Black will do this character justice.
Wow! What a great story right here! Another great addition to this amazing series by Lacey! Garreth and Reagan will have you swooning, and falling in love right along with them! 5 hot stars for this one! Reagan has just quit her job at the bank after losing out on a promotion, and then to top it off, she see's her boyfriend walk in to the bar with his assistant, and they start sucking face, can this day get any worse? Now she needs a new job, and she's offered one to work at the bar while the hostess is out on maternity leave. Garreth has had a crush on Reagan forever, but now that she'll be working for him, he needs to real it in a bit, but can he work with her and keep his hands to himself? After what her boyfriend did to her, he wants to protect her, but he needs to follow his own rules here. Will he be able to? I loved this story, I swooned, sighed and fell in love! Grab this one asap!
Lacey Black’s small town romances are some of my favorite stories to read, and I am absolutely loving her Burgers and Brew Crüe series about a group of college buddies who own a gourmet burger and brew pub slash busy bar in Stewart Grove, Ohio. What’s It Gonna Take is book five in the series, and it’s an absolutely unputdownable friends-to-lovers, workplace romance that sizzles deliciously.
I really adore this group of friends. What’s It Gonna Take focuses on Garreth, the bar manager, and the woman he’s been crushing on forever, Reagan. I loved Garreth and Reagan so much. On the heels of a horrible break-up, Reagan is finally available, Garreth is finally available, but Garreth has a hard and fast rule of not dating co-workers. He’s working overtime to quash his crush, but Reagan is working just as hard to get his attention. I loved the will-they-or-won’t-they, push and pull dynamic between them, and their flirty bantering was the kind that leaves sparks in its wake.
I was hooked and rooting for Garreth and Reagan from the moment I started What’s It Gonna Take. Garreth was such a swoon-worthy hero, and Reagan was feisty and fiery. This was such sweet and sexy romance, light on the angsty, emotional drama, but full of heart, heat and humor. Black has created a fun world in this small town Ohio pub, and y the hilariously endearing characters in Stewart Grove have completely charmed me. Five smooches from me for What’s It Gonna Take by Lacey Black! ~Danielle Palumbo
Lacey Black is one of those authors you can trust are going to deliver a wholesome story with just th right amount if spice to make a fantastic read. What’s it gonna take is books 5 of the Burgers and brew crue series by Lacey Black. The story follows Gareth, the manager of the bar, and Reagan their new employee. They’ve known each other for years since she is cousin with one of the ladies of the previous books, Gareth always flirts but she turns him down. There is this attraction between them that Reagan refused to acknowledge, since she is dating someone at the moment and also because she figures he does that with every guest. Our story begins after Reagan its offered the Hostess job in the bar and on the same night she finds out that said boyfriend is dating his secretary and dumped her… trough text. to avoid awkwardness before they all saw each other at the bar, where he knew she was going to be for girls night… real piece of work that James lol. I liked that Reagan was very sure o herself and went for what she wanted. Once the obstacles were removed, we get pretty much the whole book of a happy couple exploring each other, not only physically but they talk and they get to know each other pretty well. It is a bit fast paced and time wise its only about two months, it might be a little bit more. I loved their first date, Garreth is raising the bar out here. I can't wait to read about Leo on the next book. I hate that we need to wait until jan 2023 but ill be waiting gladly.
I’m super excited to be back with the Burgers and Brew Crüe! This time, Lacey Black brings us bar manager, Garreth Taylor and Reagan Turner, who just happens to be cousin to one of the owner’s wives and the bar’s newest hire.
Even though she’s always enjoyed his outrageous flirtations, Reagan has never thought of Garreth as more than a friend. But, now that she’s single again, all bets are off. And, when she finds out that Garreth has been crushing on her since they first met, Regan decides it’s time she makes the first move! And, what follows is pure magic!
Lacey, thanks for gifting readers more time with the Burgers and Brew Crüe! I adored Garreth and Reagan together! They both have such easy going personalities that just seem to fit now that they can give one another a chance and explore the spark that has always been between them. I loved how Garreth was considered part of the crew by the 4 owners readers have come to know and love and that Reagan was connected to the other wolves and girlfriends as well. I really enjoyed watching Garreth go all out and treating Reagan as she deserves to be treated by planning one of the greatest first dates ever. And, I was excited to see where their romance would take them.
Fun, flirty, sexy and super sweet, What's It Gonna Take was the perfect addition to this series and a fabulous binge read, because I could not put their romance down until I read through the final page! 5 stars.
Having read Kickstart My Heart, Don't Go Away Mad, Same Ol' Situation, and Wild Side i've been looking so forward to more of this series! Ever since I reached the end of the fourth installment i've been wanting to get into this book. I picked it up as soon as i could and got right back into the Burgers and Brew Crüe world! I so enjoyed this fifth book!
Garreth and Reagan's journey captured my attention so quickly! These two are friends, but things are starting to change between these two. Garreth is the bar manager at Burgers and Brew and when Reagan is hired there, can they fight their attraction to one another? Or can giving in prove to be everything for them?
From their sweet friendship to their great chemistry, i thoroughly enjoyed Garreth and Reagan's story! I really liked getting to see how these two would tackle things, especially when it came to their feelings, working together, and things thrown their way. I loved how these two and their story had me feeling many things!
It was awesome being back in the Burgers and Brew Crüe world! I love how with every installment i can picture everything so clearly!
With What It's Gonna Take, Ms.Black has created such a good read with feels! I can't wait to dive back into this series with the sixth installment, Home Sweet Home!
*I volunteered to read and review a copy of this book from Give Me Books Promotions / the author*
Garreth is the new manager of Burgers and Brew Crue. Originally from town he has been back several years. Reagan who is Madelyn’s cousin has noticed that Garrett has flirted with her for several years. She heads into the bar proclaiming she just quit her job and she got dumped via text. Then her ex-boyfriend stupidly comes into Burgers and Brew with his office assistant he’s been screwing around with. Agreed, an idiot.
Next thing for Reagan is a job. The boys offer her a temporary spot as hostess while their regular goes out for maternity leave. Garreth is thinking great, I get to see her all the time. Dang I don’t want to start an office romance - like that hasn’t happened before!
As they all meet for lunch Garreth offers to drop Reagan off at her apartment. And that starts their office romance on the QT. One look at them and they have the Looney Tunes birds and Cupid flying around their heads.
This story has no drama. They are attracted to each other, try to keep it cool at work, have a few things at each other’s place. Realize they are both in love before anyone says anything. A little surprise happens that is barely a bump in the road.
This series is about the four guys who started Burgers and Brew. Their stories are complete. I was concerned with adding one character we know and one we don’t but everything fit together perfectly. Another great book in this series.
I received a complimentary early release e-book prior to release and am voluntarily leaving a review.
This is a standalone story within the series, and it stars Reagan and Garreth. It is a fun, flirty romance between two flirty acquaintances/friends of friends and who have crushed on each other for 4 years. It is a slow burn story and I really enjoyed it though it's a pretty slow-moving story. Perfect for a beach or pool read.
Garreth is a divorced guy so when he met Reagan four years before he flirted and crushed on her from afar. Now four years later she is single and ends up employed at the restaurant he manages, and he is still majorly crushing on her. But he is also hesitant to start something with her because he is her boss.
It is not a forbidden relationship as there is no rule against dating but it's more of making it work as relationships at work can get complicated. There are some fun twists ahead for Gareth and Reagan and I really loved their journey to happily ever after.
There are lots of family connections in this story. We get to see all the previous couples in this series and their kids, and it was fun seeing them have ladies' nights and BBQ's. I also loved the addition of Garreth's family, and his mom was a total sweetheart.
"I was hooked from the first chapter, Garrath and Reagan were perfect for one another.
A wonderful friends to lovers, wasn’t sure it was going to happen at first, Garrath fought his feelings, being burned before he’d been there and got the t-shirt. Reagan had a wonderful personality you couldn’t help but love her, a thought nut with a soft side, that made their fall so much more.
Get ready for lots of laughs, some head shaking and a few sext times. It was so much fun to catch up with past characters too!" ~Stephanie
"4 I really like how this book flowed until around 80%. I felt like I hit a speed bump somewhere and missed something because although I could see the twist coming, there were other things/scenes that just didn’t seem to relate to the main relationship growing between Garreth and Reagan. Overall I enjoyed the story and these two have that undeniably connection. They’re both great characters together and separate in this HEA. Garreth is swoon-worthy and Reagan is that relatable spitfire character. I don’t feel as though you absolutely need to read the rest of the Brew Crue to enjoy this, it definitely held its own.
Reconnecting; Boss/worker relationship, friends to lovers; ARC for Honest Review; Read.Review.Repeat Blog" ~Lindsay
I was pulled right into this story. The story has laughs, secrets, pain, and heartbreak.
The below are part of this series if you want to read those books(s) first Kickstart My Heart (Burgers and Brew Crue #1) Don't Go Away Mad (Burgers and Brew Crüe #2) Same Ol' Situation (Burgers and Brew Crüe #3) Wild Side (Burgers & Brew Crüe #4)
This is Reagan and Garreth’s story. The pull was there from the start, but she was already dating someone, so he held back. When her boyfriend breaks up with her via text and then comes out on a date with someone at the same place things get s little hairy. Garreth knows he is going to step up his game. But when she needs a job, he tries to keep it professional. But after crossing the line they are expected to work together, and he wants it still professional at work. Can they do that without everyone knowing what they are doing in private? He takes work very seriously, but can she get him to lighten up? What happens when her family finds out? Will that spark something or will it just
I loved these characters and the side characters. I felt I could connect with the characters and the story was a great read.
I have to say it's always a great day when I get to visit the Burgers and Brew Crue as I LOVE LOVE LOVE this group of people. Garreth is the bar manager who is very sexy & flirty, and has kind of an interest in Reagan but she's been in a relationship. Reagan is going through it after walking away from her job, but things take a nastier turn when her boyfriend shows up to where she's at with a new woman. Turns out he had broken up with her via text but she hadn't seen it yet. She ends up working at the bar until she figures out what she wants to do next, and despite her finally being single, Garreth is now her boss & does his best to leave her alone. You know, I love when a book has a heroine who isn't going to whine & pout about the way someone treats them, and Reagan finally has enough of his hot & cold act so she confronts him. I'm telling you, these two had sparks flying, entertaining interactions, and finally, set the sheets on fire but it's not easy since they have to figure out how to balance it all, luckily for them, there's the supporting cast who really has their backs. What's It Gonna Take is another perfect read in this series that I HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND!
I would like a reservation at Burgers and Brue for Friday Night at the far end of the bar to watch Jameson play guitar, see Jasper, Numbers, Walker, and now the newest Garreth + wives and if Lyndee were to bring dessert I certainly wouldn't turn it away.
I love the Burgers and Brue crew and Garreth and Reagan were a great addition to the crew. From the very beginning of the book we see the flirt that Garreth is and it is apparent that he has more than a crush on Reagan but he has a need to stay professional at work. He is the manager of Burgers and Brue but he feels like he still needs to prove something to the 4 owners to make sure he keeps his spot. So Garreth and Reagan start their relationship on the down low and it just blossoms from there! I really appreciated that Reagan was direct with Garreth, she knew what she wanted and she made sure to always talk to Garreth and there wasn't any miscommunications between them which was a delight!
The moment I fell in love with Garreth was definitely their first official date, nothing like a brand new scrunchie to show you care!!
What’s It Gonna Take is the 5th book in Lacey’s Burgers and Brew Crüe series. If you’re looking for a good fluffy romance book this one is perfect. There isn’t a lot of angst or heartbreak, it’s a perfect palette cleanser if you’re coming off a book that put you through the ringer.
Reagan is recently out of a job and a relationship, so when she’s offered a job at Burgers and Brew, a restaurant owned by friends, she takes them up on their offer. The only problem is the manager who has been flirting with her for years stops when she clocks in, right when she starts to consider taking him seriously.
Reagan and Garreth are quick to fall and never waiver in their commitment to each other. There was a bit of predictability with the plot, but I’m not sure it was ever meant to be a surprise after the initial hint. Garreth also used a few different words I would associate with being British which seemed out of place. Other than that, it was a fantastic read.
This book is steamy, sweet and easily reread. It’s a great edition to a series I thought was over, extending our time with some of my favorite couples. It also set up a great book 6 that I can’t wait to read.
Reagan and Garreth and all the swoony heart warming love
I enjoyed Reagan and Garreth’s sweet and sexy coworkers romance. It is filled with all the emotions, the connections and the love. I smiled through the majority of the book. The growth of their relationship was just so sweet and swoon worthy. Garreth is the divorced manager of a restaurant/bar and brewery in small town Stewart Grove. Reagan quit her job at the bank after being passed over for a promotion. She gets a job at the restaurant managed by Garreth. Reagan and Garreth have been sort of friends for years and he’s had a crush on her all that time but now that she’s available, she works for him which is a line he does not want to cross. But proximity, chemistry and feelings have them pushing past that line. Of course, things get complicated and messy on their way to their HEA because - feelings and they both have some issues to deal with. This book has a little bit of everything - sweet moments, real life issues, imperfect characters, close knit friends and family, humor, painful pasts, and so much love. I have loved reading this series and am excited to hear there will be more couples.
Dang I wish there was a Burgers and Brew Crüe in my town because this is a place readers will love at any book in this series. This is book 5 and boy have we come a long way. I love that Lacey Black gave Garreth his own story and Reagan is just perfect for him. She is so opposite from her cousin Madelyn yet in many ways almost the same. Both just want to be loved and accepted. I felt bad for Reagan all her good things tumbling down all of a sudden. Good news is we have Garreth, sexy and hot to show her there is something better after all the bad stuff goes down. Once again Lacey Black shows us that where there is a strong woman there is also a stronger man we can lean on to love us deeply and boy does Garreth show it in this book. Not only do we go back to this place but we see Walker, Jameson, Isaac and Jasper all in good happiness that they deserve as well. Loved it.
"I received an eBook copy from the publisher for the purpose of an honest review. I was not compensated for this review: all conclusions are my own."
I had to jump back into our Brew Crue and read a few more of Lacey’s books. This book is the 5th in the series, and you don’t have to read the others to understand this book at all. You just know which couples are together and about their families. This book has Garreth, the manager of bar & restaurant, as our MMC and we get to spend time with Reagan. Reagan is dealing with leaving her job and also seeing her boyfriend with someone else while out with the girls for Tuesday’s girls’ night. Garreth has had a crush on Reagan since she moved 4 years ago and just never had a chance to make it make his move. When these two start to find their footing both in their jobs and in their life, we see them decide to stop fighting the attraction that they have. My favorite thing about this book is that it really is a low angst book, but their chemistry is off the charts. I truly enjoyed this story and spending time with the 4 owners and their wives as well as the secondary characters with books hopefully coming through the series.
