Tense and sexy

Broken heroes break my heart every single time - it's just so easy to fall for them. That's definitely the case in this small town, enemies to lovers romance. This is my first time reading something by Prince, and it certainly won't be the last. I dove right into the middle of this series of interconnected standalones with no trouble, and I have no regrets. I loved the enemies to lovers friction paired with the small town charm, the friend group, and the sexual tension. It's a tens Tense and sexy

Broken heroes break my heart every single time - it's just so easy to fall for them. That's definitely the case in this small town, enemies to lovers romance. This is my first time reading something by Prince, and it certainly won't be the last. I dove right into the middle of this series of interconnected standalones with no trouble, and I have no regrets. I loved the enemies to lovers friction paired with the small town charm, the friend group, and the sexual tension. It's a tense, sexy read that somehow manages to remain (mostly) light, even when tackling some difficult subjects. I swooned for this broken hero... though I also kinda wanted to shake some sense into him. It's easy to see the connection that sparks between this couple, and they just can't seem to stay away. This love story held my attention, and served as an excellent introduction to Prince's work.

The story follows Callum, a man who was released from prison a year ago, and is still fighting the demons that plagued him there. His sexy, infuriating neighbor drives him crazy in the best of ways, but he knows that he's not in the right headspace for love - nor is he worthy of someone so great. Aurora has always believed that the intense feelings between she and Callum are hate, but spending time with him makes her realize that he's more complex than expected. Yes, he drives her crazy with his surly ways and hot-and-cold mood swings, but there just might be a decent man hidden underneath his gruff exterior. A lovable man. Forced to spend time together at wedding festivities, Callum and Aurora work out their tension.

If you love a good guy who has lost his way, then you're gonna fall for Callum. He served his time, and it's changed him. He's still trying to figure out who he is now, and there are some heartbreaking elements to his past. I really felt for Callum, and it was easy to feel compassion for him... even when he was getting in his own way. There's plenty of friction between Callum and Aurora - not so much enemies to lovers, but more two people trying to figure each other out, and getting frustrated in the process. While they fight and struggle with their feelings, there's also something that draws them together. I liked the missteps along the way, and I always remained hopeful that they could work things out. There were one or two things that I didn't love (that Aurora is drunk during their first hookup, that one of their fights went a little too far), but I really did enjoy the story as a whole. I read it in essentially one sitting, and I'm left with a strong desire to read more of Prince's work - so that is a definite win. ...more

THIS is the kind of Jessica Prince book that I have been waiting so long for!! I haven't liked many of the books in this series, mostly because the male leads are absolutely despicable, but Callum? My goodness he is everything. He was the only thing i really liked about Larks book, so to have him get his own story with Larks fiesty best friend made me so freaking excited!

That is until a certain curvy, opinionated and beautiful woman makes him feel something for the first time in so long -- but because of his past, he feels like he doesn't deserve anything worth having. So, being a dumb man, he tries pushing her away time and time again, only to realize he's so completely in love with her. *cue all my swoony feelings*

As much as I loved Callum, I ADORED Aurora. She was the perfect heroine and I loved how even when they were doing their hate flirting, she always stood up to anyone who tried to make Callum feel bad for how prison changed him. She saw a man who was doing his best to attone for his sins and keep the demons he has at bay, and truly saw the good in him that's obviously still there. Just because he made bad decisions doesn't mean he's a bad man. Plus their chemistry was so smoking hot, and their banter was so on point I felt like I needed a cigarette. And I don't even smoke. Much.

I could go on and on about these two, but I just loved their love so much! Their relationship is a fast slow burn if that makes sense. For me it feels like no time has passed while reading one of this authors books, and before I'm ready for it to be over, I'm already at the 70% mark and wanting my time with this couple to never end. This book is making me truly excited for what's next to come in this series!!

Also, imma need Jess to write a MC series. Pope and his brothers in leather NEED some good loving.

Another thing I loved: there was no catty name calling, or manwhore ways. Praise Jesus!! Callum was all about Rora from the second he met her and never even so much as glanced at another woman. Man, do I love it when Jess writes these types of heroes!!

This book isn't as good as her previous books. Callum and Aurora's stoty was pretty boring. The cat was cute, the rooster was cute, but the chemistry between the main characters was flat. I wanted Aurora to find her happy after how she proved to be the ultimate ride or die for Lark, and I also wanted Callum to find his because he deserved a chance at the good life. So imagine how great I felt at the prospect of them finding that WITH EACH OTHER now! But it couldn’t be easy. Oh, no. Callum has a chip on the chip on the chip on his shoulder and he can’t bring himself to be decent to Aurora because he’s used to being dealt junk by this point. And he knows he’s not worth her time and I wanted Aurora to find her happy after how she proved to be the ultimate ride or die for Lark, and I also wanted Callum to find his because he deserved a chance at the good life. So imagine how great I felt at the prospect of them finding that WITH EACH OTHER now! But it couldn’t be easy. Oh, no. Callum has a chip on the chip on the chip on his shoulder and he can’t bring himself to be decent to Aurora because he’s used to being dealt junk by this point. And he knows he’s not worth her time and effort. Or is he? And Aurora can tolerate a lot, but the love/hate games are giving her whiplash, so maybe alone is best. But maybe, just maybe, these two are truly meant to be?

We didn’t ignore the horridness that was Callum’s life for years here. Instead, his obvious triggers and issues are faced head on by the one woman he’s sure would shy away from them. And the fact that she defends him to others? Oh, that solidifies the fact that she’s destined to own his heart. If he doesn’t break both of theirs trying to do what he feels is “the right thing” first. And we also didn’t gloss over the misery Aurora endures, or her refusal to pretend that all is fine when she’s hurting. And I loved that so much. Because let’s face it, too many times in life or books, women pretend all is fine for the sake of a relationship or a crush. And Aurora is strong. She’s not having that. She can admit her feelings and her confusion, but she can also clearly communicate, and that’s gold to me. She can also help soothe some pain and a past that won’t let go, so Callum has to realize she’s just perfect, right?

Even with the somewhat unexpected twist, this story grabbed me and kept me wanting more time with Callum and Aurora to the very last page. The unintentional prank with Johnny Cash, the attempted rescue that wasn’t necessary, Tigger…all of the stunts and fights and steaming hot methods of working it out just did it for me. But now I’m worried about Wynn. And Laeth. And heck, Pope. However their stories unfold, I’m sure we’ll be in for quite the ride and some angst along the way. But I’m here for whatever comes our way because this series has sucked me in and has no intention of letting me go! ...more

I absolutely LOVED Aurora. She was endearing, witty, and sassy. I can't think of anyone who would be a better fit for Callum. Her sweet and caring nature, her innate ability to read others' emotions, her sass, every particle of her being was as if it were there to allow her to love a man who had every reason to be broody and closed off. She was a little bit of sunshine mixed with a little bit of a hurricane.

Callum was broody, but it was more than that; there was a darkness within him that you could feel as if it were your own. He'd emerged from prison as a different person, and while some wondered where that Callum had gone, Aurora only knew the grumpy version he was now. I felt that was just another reason why they were perfect for one another.

Gah, the chemistry between Callum and Aurora was ignited the moment they met. Their angry quips and wicked retorts acted as foreplay, creating a painfully equisite slow-burn that became an unrestrained inferno of impassioned chemistry.

I enjoyed their banter; even when they "hated" each other, the underlying connection was palpable. The dialogue was some of the best I've ever read, as it went beyond simply being entertaining. It was the meticulous way they fed off one another's words, but perhaps more importantly, they seemed to forge a deeper connection in the words that were left unsaid.

Each and every emotion that Callum and Aurora have wriggled their way straight into my heart. There were times I could feel myself smiling right alongside them, and other times the pain was so intense that there was a searing pain in my chest.

Blurred Lines is a top 2022 read and my new favorite book in the Redemption series. An enthralling blend of fervent chemistry, a broody hero, a heroine full of sunshine and sass, extra witty banter, feels, and steam, all set in a world that feels like home and surrounds you with the unconditional love of this incredible group of friends.

I need not have worried because this author created a wonderful story between these two and reminded me what it was that I loved about the way that she creates her stories.

I need not have worried because this author created a wonderful story between these two and reminded me what it was that I loved about the way that she creates her stories.

From the very beginning of this story, I was invested in seeing how the chipper and Zen girl, Rora, was going to navigate living next to the grumpy hermit of a man, Callum. I loved that she held strong and never backed away from being a strong-willed woman. I liked how she didn't judge a man by the cover and instead was empathetic to the new man that he was instead of comparing him to the man that he once was. After years in prison, life for Callum changed. I like that the author explained how he went from being the life of the party to just needing to readjust into the person he needed in order to find a sense of peace. I could understand his reservations about being worthy. They were justified. Yet, that didn't mean that he didn't deserve to find love. I liked that there was an importance in finding balance and grounding oneself which tied into what Rora did for a career. I loved that these two showed how close the line is between love and hate. They fought passionately and that carried over in every interaction and every steamy encounter. Their chemistry was fire.

My only complaint was in how fast the ending came about and the drama that came with it. In all honesty, I am not sure that it was needed. Just Callum dealing with his inner demons and his actual nightmares would have been enough drama that needed to be solved to give the story something to work towards. Even bringing this certain character back as the pivotal moment would have worked better had there been more time or depth to that encounter. Instead, it felt crammed in.

It was great seeing the old gang, and also having a close-up of Lark and Clay getting their happily ever after. Off-topic, I loved the nicknames in this one, Rora for Aurora, totally fit her personality, and Button as her endearment from Callum was so much better than just "baby' or "kitten". ...more

Jessica Prince is my go-to author and for good reason. Reasons, actually, plural. I could name book after book here to prove my point, and Blurred Lines is definitely one of them.

Her small towns are simply adorable, her characters are funny and captivating and her stories are sweet, sexy, and enthralling.
No matter our expectations, she always manages to deliver.
And she did it again.

I love it when a grumpy, brooding tough guy meets his match in a sexy strong spitfire of a woman. The fireworks really fly when these two butt heads.

This whole series has been a lot of fun to read, and Callum and Aurora’s love/hate journey was no exception.

Nothing better than a feisty heroine that takes no crap like Aurora to give the sexy but very broody Callum a run for his money!

This was an okay addition to the series for me. For Aurora and Callum, it was slow. I mean slooooow romance. It's a love hate, but not much happens with them for like 70% of the book. Kind of meh. There was a lot with Lark and Clay from book 4, which I happened to love it worked for me, but I could see how that'd irk some.
Still the last 20% of the book was exciting and great to read. It could have easily been stretched out to last throughout the whole book, but oh well. Still pretty good.

This romance definitely will remind you of the thin line between love & hate! Callum has made some not great choices & those choices change him. The new Callum has me loving him & hating him all at once. Aurora & her sassiness had me sucked in from the beginning. I couldn’t get enough of their banter, chemistry & bickering fights they always have. They just can’t seem to get along for very long, but that is just them. Such an enjoyable read.
I recommend this book. Told in dual POV.

I freaking LOVED this story. It was the perfect love/hate tension and hot times I needed. Jessica Prince ALWAYS delivers and I can’t read her words fast enough. The re-reads have already begun. Callum and Aurora were perfect!!!
