My review of this by the name The Cowboy's Amish Haven. This was the first part of the 2 book pairing in Their Amish Second Chance. I reread this and then read the second novel. This is my prior review...I feel the same.

This was my first Pamela Desmond Wright book and I should very much like to thank her for my ARC copy which I devoured in one sitting. Rarely do I pick up a book and miss some of my favorite television shows, ignore the phone and tell husband ssshh sssshh I am reading. This was most definitely one of those books. I was hooked by the end of the first page. Pamela's writing is beautiful and she describes the Amish Community of Burr Oak Texas accurately. Amish communities differ from community to community depending on their Bishop and I believe this was pointed out in the book and has been told to me on several trips to Amish Pennsylvania and Ohio. I loved all the members of the Schroeder family and Levi and Seth. What a delight the Bishop was and not only a good man of religion but a good friend. Seth stole my heart. He had me in happy tears and heartbreaking tears and was a delightful little boy. This book is for lovers of Amish fiction who enjoy a love story and one that is a little different from others. I loved my time in Burr Oak and Pamela, I hope y'all will take us there again. Thank you so much for my copy of the book. I will treasure it to read again in the future.

This is my review of the second book, Her Secret Amish Match which I read for the first time.

This book was part of a 2 novel Love Inspired pairing. The first book by Pamela Desmond Wright I had read as an ARC but Pamela provided me with an ARC of this pairing. I reread Pamela's story...The Cowboy's Amish Haven and I will attach the review from my first reading at the end of this review. I had never read anything by Cathy Liggett before so I was very anxious to read this book. It was a 5 star read for me and I wasn't disappointed. The story was absolutely charming and the characters were so lovely. I felt that I was in Ohio visiting Sugarcreek and the close by Amish communities. I did chuckle several times and then found myself crying happy tears at the end. It was such a beautiful ending. I thank Pamela and Cathy for providing me this ARC and Cathy, I shall definitely be reading more of your books. I recommend this 2 novel pairing to those who love Amish fiction and also to those wishing to try the genre. Both books really do a good job of introducing to the Amish lifestyle and culture.

What’s better than a book? Two books in one! You get not one sweet Amish tale, but two, in this charming and heartfelt matchup by authors Pamela Desmond Wright and Cathy Liggett.
In Pamela Desmond Wright’s The Cowboy’s Amish Haven, can former rodeo cowboy Levi Wyse, who years earlier left the Amish faith, find a way to save childhood friend Gail Schroeder’s family ranch? Can he also find his way back to ‘Gott’, and maybe even a place in Gail’s heart?
In Cathy Liggett’s Her Secret Amish Match, can matchmaker Hannah Miller and widower childhood friend Jake Burkholder realize the best match possible for him is the one right in front of his eyes?
It’s such a joy to read these Amish stories, and I’m sure anyone else would think so, too.
I received a complimentary copy of this book, but my opinion is entirely my own.

When everything in her life seems to be falling apart and it looks like Gail Shroder will be losing her family’s farm, Levi Wyse shows up on her doorstep, 10 years after leaving suddenly and taking her heart with him.
Levi had been taken in and taught the cattle business by Samuel Shroder, Gail’s father, but had made the decision to leave the Amish community and join the rodeo life, a decision Samuel simply couldn’t condone.
Samuel and his wife are gone, leaving the responsibility of caring and running of the business and home with the eldest daughter, Gail. She tries to handles things on her own, but things begin to get away from her. The final straw comes that very day, when the banker comes to tell Gail that the business manager hired by Gail’s dad had made off with all their money and their mortgage was unpaid and the chance was very good that they would be losing the family house and farm within a month.
Levi learn of the bind they are in and agrees to stay on and help them get out of this bind, before moving on.
But will his original plan stay in place or will old feelings make moving on more difficult than he ever thought possible?

"The Cowboy's Amish Haven" by Pamela Desmond Wright: This book surprised me because I didn't know there were Amish in Texas and some have ranches. It was a pretty good story with the usual romance and peril.
"Her Secret Amish Match" by Cathy Liggett: Hannah had made a lot of matches but she hadn't considered a match for herself. Levi, a widower with three children, and his now deceased wife had been friends with Hannah forever, so she didn't really think of him as a match for herself even though she become very close with him and his children.
I thought both of these stories were good for this type of book and were a good "double-header."

In this 2 books in 1 edition the title suggests it all. Two stories centered around the Amish & their 2nd chance at love. In The Cowboy's Amish Haven by Pamela Desmond Wright, we find Levi Wyse returning to Gail Schroder's ranch after he left 10 years ago. She's about to lose her ranch, but Levi is determined to help her. Her family did him a kindness years ago & he is here now to do all he can. Can Levi help Gail save her home? Can they have the chance that she had wished for so many years ago?
In the 2nd book of this amazing 2 for 1, Her Secret Amish Match by Cathy Liggett follows Hannah Miller get her 2nd chance with Jake Burkholder. Jake Burkholder has been a widow for 2 years with 3 small kids, he is finding it difficult to take care of his children, work on the farm, and provide a living for his family. Old friend Hannah Miller comes to the rescue. When Jake gets offered a job at the lumberyard, she steps in be a nanny after losing her dream job in town. These two have secrets though. He married her best friend and she became a matchmaker. Can she convince herself or Jake that she isn't the perfect match for him?
I really enjoyed these two books. They were very uplifting and each held a story of hope and God's faithfulness through it all. They will both leave you with smiles on your faces & maybe a few tears! Happy tears, though! I was given a copy of this book, but all opinions are my very own!
