For Ex-Navy SEAL, Carter Manning, nothing worthwhile is easy. Having lost the people he loved, he dedicates his life to the hard stuff to keep from looking back. The future is strictly about the next mission, not settling down or raising a family.
When a rash of suicides plagues the Wind River Reservation in Wyoming, teen counselor Amanda Small calls on the Brotherhood Protectors to help investigate what she suspects are murders.
Manning and Small team up to investigate, discovering an attraction neither expected nor wanted. As they close in on the truth, they become targets and must decide whether their love and their lives are more important than stopping the next “suicide.”

Ask her, and she'll tell you what it's like to go toe-to-toe with an angry three-hundred-and-fifty-pound bird and live to tell about it!
Her adventures in the army and air force reserves, and the wild antics of her life on a small ranch in Texas give her fodder for mystery, suspense and humor in her writing. Saving Amanda by Elle James Brotherhood Protectors Yellowstone series #3. Spin off of other Brotherhood Protector series. Romantic suspense. Can be read as a stand-alone. Amanda has moved back to the reservation in order to help the teens as a counselor. Three of the teens are dead by apparent suicide. Carter is one of the Yellowstone Brotherhood Protectors, a security unit that works a lot of probono in their different units. Posing as an engaged couple, Amanda and Carter are soon in the middle of a dangerous investigation.
Fast action and gripping events make this an edge-of-your-seat read. Of course, the threat of danger plus immediate attraction leads to heated passion within 24 hours of meeting. Get the banging done before they are on the run? Well sure, plus it continues throughout the story because they have to have down time, right? 😉☺️ The passion turns to love as they deal with threats, danger and the Brotherhood to the rescue. Predictable for the multiple series but entertaining all the same. Strong, indomitable heroine for the win.
Saving Amanda (Yellowstone Brotherhood Protectors) Elle James Another suspense filled Brotherhood Protectors book. Amanda needs help finding out why young Indians are supposedly committing suicide on the reservation. What are the Young Wolves hiding? The Brotherhood agrees to help and sends Carter with her as her fake fiancé in order to find answers. Two strong characters overcoming loss learn to depend on each other. Can fake turn real? Can they find the answers? A read that can’t be put down until the very end. I received an ARC in exchange an honest review. You will definitely want to read this book.
Absolutely loved everything about this story!!! Carter and Amanda are to strong characters that don’t let their past heartbreak stop them from fighting for what they believe in!!! Elle James has truly crafted an incredible series and I’m excited to see what comes next!!! Five stars ⭐️ A must read!!!
I received an arc of this book and am voluntarily leaving my review
Amanda Small was abandoned by her parents, and neglected by foster parents who only wanted the state money, until she was finally adopted by Joe Sharp Spear. He took her back to the reservation and showed her unconditional love. He helped her through college where she got a degree in social work and came back to the Rez to help the young people, who are faced with unemployment, poverty and gang violences. She has now lost three teens to what appears to be suicide, but she is convinced that there is something more sinister afoot. She turns to the Brotherhood Protectors and is assigned Cartet Manning, who recently left the SEALS. 5 years ago, after his wife was murdered in her bed- while he wasn't there to protect her. He carries the guilt and never wants ti feel that loss again.Their first impressions of each other are definitely not positive, but as they investigate what is happening at the Rez, they become partners in more ways than one.
As always, Elle James creates a fast pace, non stop action, page turner, with likable characters and witty banter. "Your killing me Small" The only negative I have, which I have had with other of the author's books (and many other authors) is I feel that jumping into bed together the first night they meet is not healthy, and doesn't particularly add to the story.
I read an ARC provided to me as a review crew member. This is my unbiased and voluntary review.
I love the brotherhood, but like the story based around a Indian reservation and the problems they have. Amanda 's like took a turn at a young age when her mother got tired of the abuse and left her husband and took her child and left her at a police station. So that is what motivated her to get a degree in psycology. She came back to help the people, especially the young people. But teens start to dye because of a supposedly suicide, she asks for help from a friend, Chelsea whose man works with the Brotherhood. It's a sad story but HEA in the end.
Saving Amanda is book 3 in the Brotherhood Protectors Yellowstone series by Elle James. This book grabs you right from the start…
Amanda Small returns to the reservation as a counselor for the teems but when 3 members of the Young Wolves perish she suspects foul play. She turns to the Brotherhood Protectors for help and Carter Manning, former Navy Seal is assigned to help her and also protect her when trouble comes knocking at her door.
Suspense, drama, romance, action, kidnapping, uncovering secrets and more…keep reading to see where it all ends.
Amanda is a counselor for the reservation. Carter is now a Brotherhood Protector. After 3 teens apparent suicide, Amanda needs to find out the truth and help the remaining teens. Carter is now Amanda's fake fiance as they struggle to get answers to who is behind the deaths. Carter always swore after losing his wife and unborn child, he would never love again. Could that be changing? Will they find out who is behind the death of the teens?
Saving Amanda is by Elle James. This Brotherhood Protector novel is set in the Wind River Reservation in Wyoming. This novel will bring tears to your eyes as you see the problems the teens are having on the reservation and the efforts of some to bring help to them. It underscores something that is actually happening in the US at this time. Amanda Small had some to West Yellowstone to talk to her friend Chelsea Youngblood. They hadn’t seen each other in some time and Amanda was now working on the Wind River Reservation only two hours away. She needed some advice from someone not involved in the reservation, a friend to talk to. Amanda had returned to the reservation at the request of her foster parent, Tribal Chief of Police Joe Sharp Spear. They needed a counselor for teens as they were having a rash of suicides among their teens. Amanda was a counselor and knew the reservation so was perfect for the job. However, she wasn’t making much headway with the teens and needed reassurance only a friend could give. Chelsea suggested she see the Brotherhood Protectors here in West Yellowstone for advice and help. It was what the did and she was sure they would help. Amanda went to the Lodge which was their headquarters and spoke to Stone Jacobs, the leader. He agreed she needed inside help as it could be something more than just teens. He sent Carter Manning with her to the reservation. He was to be her fiancé to allow him to stay at her house. Carter reluctantly went as her fiancé. He was a widower and had no intention of changing his status. In fact, he chose the most dangerous missions and jobs with no regard to his own life. Right now, he was breaking a horse that was really mean. So far, no one had made any headway with him. If he was killed doing it, at least his pain would be over. He didn’t try to find death; but it was ok if it found him as long as everyone else was OK. Could he and Amanda figure out what was going on before anyone else died?
What a fantastic addition to the Brotherhood Protector Yellowstone. Carter and Amanda were a beautiful couple. It had me fully engrossed from the very beginning. Carter is a sweetheart of a character - don’t get me wrong he’s a total alpha male and protector but he has a sweet, caring side that just floors you. I love the other characters from previous books, I find it adds an additional depth. Carter carries a lot of guilt and grief after losing those he held close to his heart. Watching his attraction to Amanda grow, his strength of character in opening his heart again. I loved his thought process in not regretting his time with his wife. He hated the loss but didn’t regret the memories they’d made. I thought this was beautiful and rang a personal cord for me. Amanda is a beautiful character. After surviving a lousy childhood she found exactly where she was supposed to be. She’s open and honest. Her caring nature always close to the surface. I loved watching her strength of character in moving forward to find the evil permeating the reservation. Her need to help those being targeted is awe inspiring. I loved the way, that despite so many attacks on her, she stayed the course. Her determination a thing of beauty. Carter and Amanda together faced insurmountable odds to bring evil to justice. The men of Brotherhood Protectors coming together to support their brother-in-arms, like poetry in motion. Each working together like a well-oiled machine. Elle James has once again knocked it out of the park with this adrenaline rush of a rollercoaster ride. The way in which she educated us into reservations and the laws there was fascinating and very educational. I would highly recommend this story. 5 stars is nowhere near enough to do this story justice.
Brotherhood Protectors Yellowstone is a spin-off of the Brotherhood Protector series
Amanda loves her people, their history, their struggles, and their potential. she also realises that their lack of resources is leading her people into crime. Her job as a counsellor is to reach the young people of the tribe ad guide them into more productive roles in society. Having been a foster child herself, she knows personally what a lot of the kids are facing. She was eventually lucky enough to find a foster parent who stuck. The fact that he was the Chief of the Tribal Police meant that he put up with no shenanigans from her!
When local teens start to commit suicide, Amanda sees a pattern developing and is determined to bring home hemp. Enter Carter, a Yellowstone Brotherhood Protector, former SEAL and all-around bada$$. He's posing as her fiance to allow him to freely amongst her tribe without too many questions being asked.
The teens aren't forthcoming and Amanda is soon being targeted by both the local gang and it would appear, a cartel! Carter and Amanda are soon in crosshairs of a dangerous foe and those around them are not safe.
Quick-paced, snappy dialogue and great characters. The secondary characters were really well thought out and pertinent to moving the story along. I have no knowledge of Native American affairs other than what I have been able to google and research for myself but I think the author did a great job of not using stereotypes and harmful characterisations, whilst also being true to the issues facing the various Tribes and Nations.
Carter and Amanda's relationship went from zero to 60. There were a couple of things I liked about it. Although it was an important part of the story, it didn't take over the story. The other thing was at some point they each acknowledged a hesitation about the relationship because feelings developed so fast.
I thought the storyline about the teenagers getting in over their heads was both sad and frustrating.. It highlighted how people in desperate situations make desperate moves, sometimes overlooking the consequences. Not necessarily because they are completely unaware, or they are bad people, but they end up with a type of tunnel vision that has them focusing on one goal.
I did enjoy the mystery of trying to figure out what really happened, who was responsible, who was the good guy/bad guy, what gang was behind the murders, etc.
A story that covered losses. A chance to revisit some of the Brotherhood Protectors. Carter and Amanda's story had romance, some heat, action, danger, suspense, and a HEA.
I voluntarily read and reviewed the Advanced Reader Copy of this book.
What a brilliant addition to the Yellowstone branch of the Brotherhood Protectors this is In previous books in the series we have had hints of the trouble on the Indian Reservation now we are thrust into it neck deep with Amanda and Carter's story. She has seen the dark side of growing up on a reservation after her mother dumped her at a police station no longer able to take the abuse from her alcoholic father after spending a number of years in the foster system she was rescued by local Indian police chief Joe and his tough love got her back on track Determined to pay it forward she has now got her degree in Psychology and is working with at risk Indian teens on the reservation and something is definitely going on with the supposed drug related death of three teens all who swore to never use drugs. Carter is tasked with been her bodyguard ass she tries to get to the bottom of it he has his own issues unable to forgive himself for the death of his wife and unborn child while he was serving overseas. Soon her sheer guts and spirit have Carter wanting more Can he keep her safe and can he learn to love again or will he be too scared to risk his heart again.
What is it with the guilt factor people! Sigh I know its a plot line but I swear Alpha men just have to make sure they carry that on the shoulders too. This is a fast paced story. One that takes place on the reservation, and truly pulls at the heartstrings, with the lack of jobs, the poverty, and then for our youth trying to find a way to survive and crawl out. Saving Amanda provides intrigue, mystery, sorrow, hope and some sizzling steam. Amanda is a psychologist and comes home to the reservation to help, there are to many youth suicides occurring. She quickly realizes she needs help, and Carter our ex Seal with the Brotherhood Protectors becomes her protector. Carter carries pain and guilt. Amanda made me smile, I appreciated her strength and her humor. Together they face whats happening with strength and intelligence. I like that Elle always has a premise that is relatable in the world today. It isn't always one that brings on the sunshine, but it is always one we should be aware of. Thank you for the arc! I freely volunteer my thoughts and opinions. #savingamanda #brotherhoodprotectorsyellowstone #ellejames
The way in which the two main characters, Carter & Amanda, meet is not only unique but very unusual. I enjoyed the story taking place on the Winds Rivers Reservations. It gave me a feel for what it would be like to handle issues needing to be resolved, such as, young Native American teenagers committing suicide and motorcycles Club (MC) or MC Gang kidnapping and threatening folks on Reservation, etc.
Amanda and Carter end up working together to figure out why these teenager are committing suicide and who is behind all of the issues or causing the problems. Findintg answers is not easy. The book goes very fast because there is never a dull moment. This is partly why I'm always eager to read Elle's books. The other reasons are because they are fun, lots of action, characters are well defined and great personalities, there's suspense or mystery, story with twists and can't forget the romance. So, please buy the book, you will enjoy it!
I received a free copy of this book for an honest review. I would recommend this book to anybody who enjoys military romances, romance suspense, native america, action and adventure romance books.
Carter and Amanda meet unexpectedly on a road after a horse throws Carter in front of Amanda…..little does he know that she will be his next assignment. Amanda is a counsellor for teens on a reservation and after a few suicides, she knows there’s something else going on and that it may be murder. She needs the help of BP and meets the team and her “bodyguard” while investigating the deaths. Their cover is fake fiancée to allow Carter on the reservation without raising suspicion but for Carter it’s a sore spot because of his past….can they solve the mystery before more deaths occur and will Carter’s past hold him back with Amanda. A good read with a bit of steam, suspense, surprises, twist and turns as these two navigate their relationship and solve the mystery and who’s behind it all. I liked these two, no drama, and no shying away from their feelings. The story flowed nicely with great characters and another BP from Yellowstone finds the “one” for him. *I voluntarily read an advanced copy and expressed my honest opinion*
A suspenseful romance with a little action and a lot of chemistry between the characters. Carter had been hired to help keep her safe and find the murderer.
Amanda had recently returned to the reservation in Wyoming to work with the teens. Her foster dad is the Chief of Tribal Police. There have been three teens die in the last few weeks. All of them deemed suicide. Amanda doesn't believe it was suicide and wants some help to investigate. “Or at least a second set of eyes watching what’s happening.”
Carter is a former Navy SEAL who is now employed with Brotherhood Protectors. While he's waiting for an assignment, he’s trying to break in Diablo, “a stubborn, ornery horse who threw every rider who attempted to mount and ride him out of the corral.” But Carter was even more stubborn and very determined for the animal to become a good riding horse. But he's about to get his first assignment and Diablo will have to wait.
Saving Amanda is a fantastic addition to an addictive series (Brotherhood Protectors) by Elle James. Ms. James never fails to entertain and this book follows that path. Amanda is a living on the Wind River Reservation and is counseling teens. When three teens die, she knows she needs help. Carter has just joined the Brotherhood Protectors and is waiting for his first mission when he meets Amanda. Amanda and Carter's story is loaded with drama, humor, spice, action and suspense. I loved this book and eagerly await my next book by Elle James. Saving Amanda is book 3 of the Brotherhood Protectors Yellowstone Series but can be read as a standalone. This is a complete book, not a cliffhanger.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book that I received from Bookfunnel. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
3.5 Stars - This one was the best of the series so far! The length of the story felt right. Carter's back story will make you weep. He never wants to fall in love again. I liked Carter better than I did Amanda though. Carter gets his first assignment with having to protect and help the woman who spooked Diablo. They are headed to the reservation to figure out the three teenage suicides. Not all is at is seems.
The reason I could not rate this higher was because somethings didn't jive, such as he was selected by his team for this assignment because he has some particular skills sets but he never uses them. Diablo is never addressed again, even though Carter took it upon himself to help him. There were also dome grammatical errors that were not caught.
Saving Amanda by Elle James is book #3 in the Brotherhood Protectors - Yellowstone series. This is a fast-paced, intriguing read. The storyline is filled with exciting scenes, dangerous situations and sexy times. I really like teen counselor Amanda Small and Brotherhood Protector Carter Manning as a couple. Amanda is tough and determined to help the teens on the reservation where the action takes place. Carter is just as determined to help and protect Amanda. I always enjoy catching up with all the men of the Brotherhood Protectors and I especially enjoy when the bad guys get what they deserve. I really enjoyed this book and I am looking forward to the next book in the series.
In this latest addition to the series, we meet newly hired former Navy SEAL Carter Manning and youth counselor, Amanda Small. When teenagers in the reservation are dying due to supposedly suicide, Amanda seeks help from the Brotherhood Protectors, since she believes they are being murdered. Carter, is assigned to protect Amanda and help her figure out what’s going on. What this widower never expected were the feelings he was having for Amanda. As the feelings develop so does the danger in this action packed story. Aside from the entertaining plot and strong characters, the author highlights the trials and tribulations that occur in the reservations. Our government needs to assist them more. I was entrusted a copy of this book. The opinions expressed are solely my own.
This story grabs your attention from beginning to end! Amanda Smart is back at the Wind River Reservation where she grew up, only to find herself caught up in trying to solve the mysterious deaths of 3 teens she counsels. But she needs help. She reaches out to the Brotherhood Protectors. Where she meets Carter. She’s a little stunned! Carter Manning didn’t have to wait long for his first assignment. His job is to protect Amanda, but it has a twist he didn’t see coming. Uncovering the truth behind the teens deaths turns out to be a dangerous mission. He never expected to fall for Amanda and with his heart involved his job just became a whole lot harder. Good thing Hank and his team mates are always willing to lend a hand. “I voluntarily received this arc book for an honest review”
This is the third book in the Brotherhood Protectors Yellowstone series by Elle James. There is a rash of teen suicides on the Wind River Reservation in Wyoming so a friend asks Amanda Small to help out since she's a teen counselor. When the suicides start to look like murders instead the Brotherhood Protectors are called in to assist Amanda and help keep her safe. Ex Navy SEAL, Carter Manning is called up for this mission. Carter and Amanda investigate the suicides but their involvement has made them targets. There job to investigate the suicides has gotten even harder, even though neither is interested in a relationship they are drawn to each other. I loved this book. This is an original story with amazing characters. I had a hard time putting it down.
There is a real undercurrent of evil and greed involved in this plot, nasty men who are just out for themselves no matter the cost to innocent youngsters just trying to help their struggling families on the rez. Amanda is just trying to help those youngsters and has become a target as a result, needing help she asks her friend. Carter is given this task, only there has to be a good reason for him to be with Amanda on the rez. There are twists, lots of action and suspense in what is a thrilling story of risk and worry, as well as a whole lot of emotional turmoil as the couple give in to the chemistry and sparks between them. An intense and harrowing climax had me on the edge of my seat until it concluded and I could relax. Phew!
This is book 3 in the Brotherhood Protectors Yellowstone series and it features Amanda and Carter. He’s a former Navy SEAL and she’s a councilor on a Native American reservation. She’s trying to find out why teens are committing suicide on the reservation and needs the Brotherhood’s help. This is Carter’s first job as a BP. It doesn’t take long to find out the danger is real and more help is needed!
As usual, this is another fantastic story from a brilliant author! The chemistry between these two is sizzling HOT! The mystery and suspense had me on the edge of my seat. I LOVE visiting the Brotherhood Protectors and can’t wait for more.
What a great story in this series, so different and interesting for someone not American. Set mainly in the 'Rez' (Wind River Reservation in Wyoming) Amanda is looking for help. Teens are dying, are they really suicide? Carter one of the Brotherhood members is sent with her as a fake fiance. This story grabbed me from the beginning. It's well written and steadily paced with great characters. The author wove the plot well as I couldn't put my kindle down until I knew how it would work out. As well as the danger I loved their relationship that took them by surprise after their dubious meeting. I highly recommend this series.
I enjoyed this story but wasn’t a fane of Carter. He dwells too much in the past and then when he thinks he wants to move forward he backslides into the past. He is a yo-yo.
How Amanda and Carter met was fun. I like Amanda and her willingness to fight for her Indian people. She cared enough to go find the Brotherhood and ask for help.
There are a lot of characters in this story with a lot happening on and off the reservation. I am saddened if this story is even a little bit true to live on our Indian reservations. It wasn’t as neat as I would have preferred. If possible I would have given this three and a a half stars.
Amanda is such a fierce protector of the teens on the reservation. When she goes to the Brotherhood Protectors for help, she gets more than she bargained for. Carter is anxious to start a new assignment. He isn't one to sit around and wait but he didn't think his assignment would be to get engaged to someone he just met. After Carter's wife was murdered along with his unborn child, he swore he would never fall in love again. As Amanda and Carter spend time together, they realize that they might want to make the engagement real. That is if they can stay alive.
A woman fights to save the lives of Native American teenagers dying on the Reservation. This leads her to the Brotherhood Protectors for assistance. Amanda is a counselor scared for the lives of her people. Carter is the ex SEAL assigned to protect and assist her with the death investigations. This is a fast moving story as Amanda and Carter try to find the perpetrators and stop more deaths. Being in close proximity gives them an opportunity to get to know each other and fall head over heals in love.
This is book 3 in the Yellowstone Protectors and Amanda has returned to the reservation to help the teens there. When the teens start to die Amanda goes to the Brotherhood Protectors to get help. Carter Manning is assigned her case. For Carter to get on the reservation him and Amanda pose as a engaged couple. Carter and Amanda make a great team and couple even though Carter doesn't want to admit it at first. There's danger, suspense, action, and romance and I really liked the way Hank, and the guys came to help Carter and his team.
Amanda is fighting a bigger battle than she could ever imagine
Carter may be terrified of loving again but he is not terrified of protecting Amanda and the teens she councils. However, they have completely underestimated the battle Amanda is facing and the depths that those targeting the teens will go to to protect their shady deals. Multiple threats from multiple gangs, underhand deals, dirty agents and numerous attempts on their lives makes this a fast paced, high action case for Brotherhood Protectors Yellowstone.
