COLLEEN L. REECE writes under the pen name Connie Loraine and is one of Heartsong's most popular authors. Colleen learned to read beneath the rays of a kerosene lamp. The kitchen, dining room, and her bedroom in her home near the small logging town of Darrington, Washington, were once a one-room schoolhouse where her mother taught all eight grades! An abundance of love for God outweighed the lack of electricity or running water and provided the basis for many of Colleen's 140+ books.

Her rigid "refuse to compromise" stance has helped sell more than 6 million copies that help spread the good news of repentance, forgiveness, and salvation through Christ. Colleen helped launch Barbour Publishing's Romance Reader flip books, the American Adventure series, and her own Juli Scott Super Sleuth Christian teen mystery series. In 1998 Colleen was inducted into the HeartSong Hall of Fame in recognition for her contribution to Heartsong's success.

This small paperback made a perfect daily reading to go along with my Bible study. The Author captures a good story on many women of the bible starting from Eve and ending with the few women mentioned in the New Testament, including several of the Mary's. The stories are concise, quite interesting and as accurate as expected in order to make them into short stories. I loved this little book and will certainly read it over again and again.

Thanks Colleen L. Reece for a useful little book.

For me this was a reminder to think on the women of the bible I had heard of before. Interesting insight---factual but not dry or boring, in my opinion.

Couldn't finish it -- the writing style both bored and annoyed me. It tried to sound contemporary, even creating thoughts and motives for the characters that weren't in the original biblical record, but the dialogue was in pseudo King James English. (Neither ancient Israelites nor women in 1998 said "thee," "thou," and "hath" in everyday conversation!)

Women Of The Bible is a book that has short stories about the women of the Bible. It is a very quick read. I thought it was OK. I definitely learned some new things from it, but I thought it could have been a little more detailed.

This book was horrible. It showed just how sexist the bible really is. Most women were treated badly and I definitely hated the description of the perfect woman. It was also very boring and moved at a slow pace. STAY AWAY from this book.

Very quick read, gave some details to how the life of some of the women in the Bible may have lived their lives and the actions they took. Could have had more written about each person.
