Wow the beginning of this book was strong and I really enjoyed the master/slave dynamic it was 😏 don't get me started on the branding scene!!!
Although I liked the beginning I feel like it would be better if it told their relationship from the beginning not just right before he kidnaps her it would make it more believable.
Also INTENSE content warning! This is not your average dark romance like corrupt and haunting adeline, it has themes some readers may find beyond disturbing.

It was a hell of a ride with Cainan and Claire, they ran the show together. We finally get to know about Cainan’s world, his experiences and his lady love - Claire. Trust me when I say this, Cainan amazingly compliments Claire and Claire is an absolute ball of sunshine who knows how to handle the grumpy Cainan.
The sex scenes are off the charts- dark, delicious and definitely not for the faint hearted. The Cainan we get in the second half is the husband material, We get to know his past, his agony and how Claire becomes his strength and how they discover many things unknown to themselves, together as a team and I absolutely recommend this book for people who’ve read the trigger warnings💗👀!
Finally, a shoutout to Vanessa Waltz for giving us a smashing book, ending the series😭🥰! We love you and please keep giving us more!🤍🤍🤍.

This is Book Three of The Filthy Rich Villains series and is also connected to The Sinners of Boston series it can be read as a stand-alone but reading the previous books will give you a greater appreciation for the characters and the world they live in. The characters are well developed and the plot was well thought out. We saw Cainan in previous books and it was good to see his character development and learn about his back story and how he became the “Devil”. He is definitely a Dark Hero and this is a dark story. I’ve gotta say I wasn’t really on bored with The love story in the beginning but as the story progressed I started rooting for him.
This is definitely a page turner and highly recommend for anyone who loves mafia romance with a Beauty and The Beast vibe.

Claire Starling moved back to Boston to leave behind an event that would change her forever. Nothing could have prepared her for Cainan Shador, a man like none she had ever met before. He pursues her relentlessly, until she has begun to believe he is the perfect man for her. Cainan’s father wants revenge and he wants to use Claire to achieve that goal. Cainan kidnaps Claire and takes her to his father’s estate on a private island where his father wants him to turn her into the perfect sex slave. But the unthinkable happens, Cainan falls for the woman his father wants him to destroy.
Very dark, intense romance with lots of violence towards women, so if this is a trigger, I wouldn’t recommend this book to some readers. There is also exciting action with gunfire, murder, plenty of surprising twists, and a happily ever after, it was nearly impossible to put this book down. The characters in this book are absolutely wonderful, well written, unique, and compelling, I loved them. Even the bad guys, although reprehensible were utterly fascinating in a twisted sort of way. I loved this book and series.

This is a well written book with strong characters in Cainin and Claire. It's a dark romance that takes you through all the emotions. The author does a wonderful job pulling you into the story and paints her scenes perfectly. Loved and highly recommend this book.

Claire thinks she found Prince Charming when she meets Cainan and she is so sweet she puppies and rainbows until he shows her a totally different side that is the real side and he kidnaps her but even though she literally sees the evil side of him she also sees the man she fell for and try’s to reach him

Wow! What an emotional roller coast Jane took us on. Claire just about from the very beginning decided that Cainan was redeemable.
I have to admit there at the beginning Claire got on my nerves a little. She grew on me though as the story went along. The plot was great the characters even better. Although I wanted to murder Knox and Indie for what they did to Claire and Cainan.
The steam was phenomenal

I'd say for starters that this book does have some darker themes and do read the author's trigger warnings before starting.

Ms. Waltz is definitely one of my favorite authors for not only how crazy hooked on she gets you with her book but especially her heroes are a perfect balance between dark, possessive and heart warming at the same time.
Cainan though definitely borders on more towards villain category and you'll understand why I'm saying this if you've read Tyrant (which is a freaking amazing must read by Vanessa with all the steam 🔥).
I was so excited to read his book but also sort of prepared because he is not a good man and he's kinky and toes the moral line. I really was super curious to see how Ms. Waltz would ever redeem him.
As I didn't like him after what he'd made Knox and Indie do in the Tyrant book.
This one too starts with Cainan having ulterior motives. He owns the sex club but more than that he's a part of an even bigger ring that his father runs.
On an deserted island is his legacy and where the rich come to partake in all sorts of debauchery and explore their wild base desires.
Cainan kidnaps Claire, the sweet sister of Indie. Even though they'd been dating for a while, yet Claire doesn't know Cainan's real want of owing her as a slave and doing depraved things to her.
Yep, I was freaked out at the beginning not knowing what was going to happen to Claire. Especially seeing how worse Cainan's father and brother were and what all vile things happened on the island had me worried for Claire.
But.. But.. But.. Brace yourselves as there's a shocking twister that'll knock you off your feet as something you wouldn't have seen coming and definitely left me shocked.
We are sort of hinted at this twist but yet with the way Cainan is, I didn't know what to believe and think of it.
The struggle is real though, where we see Cainan battle his changing feelings for Claire, his undiluted Lust for owing her and yet fighting his nature and the happenings of his past that have shaped him as a person.
Those last couple of chapters, I WAS COMPLETELY MELTED & I have to say Ms. Waltz is crazy amazing for evoking these feelings for Cainan in the story as with the way it had started, I had no relation to feeling even an ounce of emotion for Cainan.
But those last chapters will make you melt and sigh. That's the 180 the powerful writing will make you feel.
AHH. What a crazy and wild ride. Loved this one. ❤️❤️❤️❤️

Devil is third and final installment in the Filthy Rich Villian. An island dark captive romance. A revenge driven story with well developed characters. The story is fast paced, intense, and addictive. A standalone full-length romance with no cheating or cliffhanger and a guaranteed happily-ever-after. You don't have to read the previous books in order to read Devil. This is Claire and Cainan. The story is told from dual POV. It draws you in from the beginning of the story and never let you go until the end with it's twists and turns. What to expect in Devil enemies-to-lovers, opposite attracts, hate-to-love, secrets, lies, captivity, betrayal, master/pet, deception, lust, steam, passion, drama, surprises, BDSM, hatred, violence, kinky fetish, action, revelations, control and power, survival, exotic secret escape, lewd acts, submission, dominance, fear, dub con, non con, threats, debasement, danger, bondage, coercion, kidnapping, captor/captive, forced proximity, revenge, love, trust issues and heat overload.

Claire is smitten with her new boyfriend and jumps at the chance to introduce him to her sister, Indie. She is hurt when she realizes that Indie does not like him. Before she gets the opportunity to discover why her life is turned upside down by the last person she expected to harm her.
She was supposed to be a job, a means to an end. Nothing more. Back on the island he once called home, Cainan is on a vengeance-seeking mission and will do any and everything to get it. He never expected the situation to change so drastically.
I have been waiting since March for this, and I’m so glad it’s finally here. The story builds on the previous books bringing back some old favorite characters while introducing some nasty new ones. Devil is action-packed and full of twists.
I will be anxiously waiting for whatever comes next.

Twisted love or a beautiful love story…. That is the question rolling in my mind.
Clarie fell in love with the Cainan. He was everything that she wanted in a man. Sweet, kind and tender, not many would describe this man like this but in her eyes, he was a good man.
Cainan, has another side to him, courting Clarie was part of his plan. Being in a vanilla type relationship was not in the cards for him. Yes, he’s use to being treat hand and foot but not the way Clarie thinks.
When Cainan meets Clarie’s sister, he sets his plan in action. He takes her to a remote island when darkness lives and the devil comes out to play.
Not wanting to give all the goodies away, let’s just say that this book is not for the faint at heart. Dark desires live on the island is Leda and the devil has his ways with unwilling females.
This is a standalone and I was able to follow along without reading the other books. This one has sparked something inside me and now I want to find out more.

Claire thinks she has found Prince Charming when she meets Cainan. He is perfect and she can’t believe he is interested in her. But things aren’t quite what they seem and he suddenly drugs and kidnaps her and takes her to a secret island where he is supposed to follow his follows orders and use her for revenge against her family. She is completely in the dark and knows nothing about the connection between her sister and Cainan’s family.
Overall this was a pretty good story. It left me wanting a bit more, but maybe I would have enjoyed it more if I had read the prior books. As it was I didn’t feel the connection between Cainan and Claire.

As much as I love Vanessa Waltz I have to say this book gave me whiplash with the amount of emotions I had.
Claire is such a sweet woman and for her to clearly not see Cainan's red flags kind of frustrated me. I kept being infuriated with her naiveness but then feeling a sense of hope when spurts of Cainan's humanity would show. Cainan would also irate me when he would talk down to her but I'm glad Claire had that back bone to give it right back to him. If she would have just backed down I don't know if I would have been able to keep reading at that point.
Being able to see their relationship form and grow despite their troubles gave me the strength to push through with reading. It was pretty difficult though given they are so many triggering things that happen in this book. Abuse Stockholm syndrome, human trafficking, and murder. This book is most definitely not for the weak hearted. It is a very dark and twisted romance.

I wasnt even sure I wanted to read Cainan's book because he is so bad. But This series is so great I had to. It is very dark but I pushed thru and boy am I glad I did. Its everything I could hope for to end this wonderful series and to find out more about the elusive, mysterious and frightening Cainan. Cainan seems to be involved in human trafficking and other equally horrendous stuff. But, he also seems to help save some people behind the scenes. Even the men that work with Cainan, Tony and Knox, dont like or trust him. Then there is Claire, a sweet, innocent young woman. She is even vegan, because she loves everything and is so kind hearted. Is this a match made in heaven or hell? Is Cainan just manipulating Claire or are there real feelings? And can the devil even have real feelings? This book is dark, dangerous, sexy and a beautiful if not twisted love story. I loved every book in this series and am so sad that it came to an end. But what a fabulous end!!

Wow, this story boggled my mind but in a GOOD way❣️
Claire is the sister of Indie, whom we met in the last book, who tried to reveal what was happening at Sanctum in regards to the girls and the potential trafficking. Claire meets a man after moving back to Boston, not realising that her sister Indie knows him or who he really is😳 Cainan has portrayed himself to be a respectful person with Claire, until she finds herself drugged and on an island unwillingly🏝
As they say, nothing is as it appears🧐 I will say I really enjoyed this story, it was dark, raw and gritty in certain aspects and at times I was definitely anxious to see what would happen next. I had a few profoundly sad moments but the journey to the destination was totally worth it. I received an advanced copy via Booksprout and voluntarily leave my honest review❤️

Wow! I thought the first two books in this trilogy, Monster & Tyrant, were dark but Devil beats them both! Devil is the story of Cainan Sandor and Claire Starling, sister of Indie, the h in Tyrant. Claire is good and innocence personified, and when Cainan takes an interest in her, she can’t help but fall for him. I loved the complexity of Cainan and Claire’s (mostly!) unwavering trust in his character. Cainan “chooses” Claire because she is strong enough to survive his plans, and she is defiant all the way through her ordeal. Oddly, there are sweet moments in the hell that is Leda Island, home to criminal families. Seems that lots of people are looking for revenge in this story and it is full of all kinds of depravity and action. Enjoyed both the characters and the story and I hope there is a return trip to Leda Island.

Devil: An Island Captive Dark Romance (Book 3 of Filthy Rich Villains) by Vanessa Waltz. Holy Darkness batman! I was warned but I still couldn't resist grabbing this one and digging in. I thought I was prepared for Cainan, even after reading Monster and Tyrant- I was not. This story is dark, perverse, and intense to say the least. It is written by an extremely talented author that crafts a tale that will make you blush while feverishly turning the pages and indulging in a story full of struggles after the realization of the state Claire finds herself in. Dark twisted romance, plenty of heat, many triggers, and twists that will leave you feeling as though there is no way for a HEA to happen, is there?.

This is Book 3 in the Filthy Rich Villains Series by this author, and can be read as a standalone. It is a dark romance between Cainan and Claire. These flawed but likeable characters and the unique plot make for an intriguing read. Seriously entertaining, it is a love story with enough drama, danger, suspense, action, steam, humor, frustrating moments, sweetness, twists and turns, and appealing secondary characters to keep the reader interested. Quite well-written, it will keep you focused and engaged with a complex and compelling blend of drama, heartache, tension, raw emotions, sizzling chemistry, heat and excitement.

Holy cow, what a ride!!
I absolutely loved this dark, island captive romance. Cainan has been dating Claire for a little while when he invites her on an island getaway. Claire is still untrusting of men after the debacle that happen when she was away at college, so she isn't ready to agree to the tropical getaway Cainan suggests they take. Cainan takes matters into his own hands and Claire wakes up on a plane after being drugged by Cainan and she finds out everything she thought she knew about him was a lie and now she is his captive sex slave and he says she must obey him if she ever wants to go home again. This is a great read and I highly recommend it!!

Vanessa Waltz did a great job on this book, Devil has a dark rollercoaster plot, the story's packed with many emotions, the book was written well. What started out between Cainan and Claire turned into something so much more and rougher, their path is severe, many ups and downs and obstacles. Claire tries to be positive but it's hard.
No matter what happened between Claire and Cainan, they were drawn to each other, their chemistry was off the charts, steamy, they're good together.
This was a great story, it'll take you on an emotional rollercoaster.
I'd suggest reading it.

Her darkest book so far
I own almost every book Vanessa Waltz has written. She writes well with great storylines and captivating characters. I look forward to reading her books. This is her darkest book written so far. I loved seeing characters from previous books. I really wasn't sure how Vanessa was going to give Cainan a romance, but she pulled it off brilliantly. Claire was a strong heroine that fought hard for her HEA. My heart squeezed toward the end. I actually felt sorry for Cainan! I LOVED the last chapter of this book! LOVED IT. Will we get a Cassie and Massimo story?!? I hope so!

Cainin and Claire had been dating a while, but when Cainin suggests a private getaway Claire just isn't at the place she can fully trust inet, and when she wakes up on a plane after being drugged she's unlikely to ever trust anyone again. Cainin gets what he wants, and when trouble calls he protects Claire with all he has but can he win her heart, after all is said and done? Well written captive romance a great addition to the series but works as a standalone too.

I love how Claire fights Cainan at every turn and wheedles away at the secrets behind Cainan’s walls. But will Cainan’s plans be able to reach fruition or will the powers that be drive a wedge between the two? You have to read to find out and won’t want to put the book down until you turn the last page.

Having met both Cainan and Claire in Tyrant, I was looking forward to reading their story, and I wasn't disappointed.
Cainan is very dark and controlling with, apparently, no redeeming features. Claire doesn't see this side of him, until he kidnaps her and takes her away to his family's remote island.
The story unfolds revealing unseen layers from both characters.
Good characters, both main and supporting, a good plotline, with enough misunderstandings, angst and heat to keep you reading up to the last page.

This book is a compelling, dark read. Cainan is a complex character with so many layers. Even the Devil didn’t start out being evil. Yes, his words and actions gave me some whiplash, but I couldn’t tear my eyes away from this book.
I also liked Claire, even though she was so naïve about some things. I get why Cainan felt she was strong enough to survive what he had to do.
If dark romances with well written characters is your kind of book, then look no further.

I must say this is a very dark, twisted, thrilling romance I read. I will be honest there are triggers here if you are very sensitive so make sure you read the trigger list before you read. Claire and Cainan what a crazy duo couple for sure to meet. So many turns and twist that popped into the story but it was well written and I enjoyed it a lot. Also, you should read the first two to have a better grasp of the area that takes place and the others characters do show up in this book. Overall loved it.

Cainan takes Claire to an island oasis, or so she thinks. I can honestly say that this story is NOT for the meek and mild. It's dark, dangerous, and delicious at the same time. I was glued to the story and finished it a few days ago and have had to sit here without saying anything, just thinking of the things I wanted to say about this book. I love other works by this author and read her works quite regularly and have to say this is a big book that fits the title completely!

GAH, WHAT A STORY!! At first, I hated Cainin as he was just TOO smoothe, but when I saw how he felt and protected Claire I gave him another chance, At eight years old, his father made him watch when he killed his mother as his father was high on drugs. I loved that Claire was a breath of fresh air and tried to get her boyfriend healthy and against her older sister's pleas to stay away from him she followed her heart.

Love, love, love this book. Cainan is a very bad man who hides himself under the guise of a simply normal "book boyfriend". This man is so good at his game.
It's a dark book. I don't want to spill too much but you'll squirm, scream, be surprised, melt, have moments where you yell at your reader, have your heart break and see how much of a dark "book husband" Cainan can truly be.
