What do you think?

Cry Alone
Last night, I found a missing person poster of myself when I was eight years old.
I’ve never been missing—or at least I don’t think I have.
With my deceitful family, though, anything is possible.
As a 40-year-old woman, I’ve spent decades trying to build a life entirely separate from what I experienced back in Scarlet Falls.
But now, it seems I have no choice but to go back to the lunacy that I raced away from years ago.
Scarlet Falls holds on to its secrets tightly; those secrets often turn to forgotten dust in the ground.
Finding the truth seems like an insurmountable obstacle.
My mother’s mind is fading.
My narcissistic sister is trying to manipulate me.
The tight-lipped sheriff won’t talk.
The inscrutable hermit farmhand is far from helpful.
But I simply cannot live without knowing the truth.
I have no choice but to travel back to the most dreadful place that holds all of my nightmares.
It’s now or never.

I am not sure how much sense "Cry Alone" makes or, to some extent, if it makes any sense at all.
It's definitely interesting.
For the life of me I cannot understand the Kenny and Maria story which starts it all off.
Roberta is updating a missing persons website when she comes across a familiar photo - it is her as a child. Shortly afterwards the photo disappears from the Web.
She travels home to her dying mother (who has dementia) but, while the story is eventually revealed, it seems unlikely that it could have happened that way.
It's just odd - quite readable most of the time but unsettling.
2 Stars.

This was not what I expected. I thought this had some supernatural elements and I was loving that, but the big twist? Just made the whole thing kind of weak and the end happened to fast.
