Once I opened this book, I couldn't put it down until finished. Travis Blair is a very talented writer who brings his readers along for the journey--in the case of, "Train to Chihuahua"--to Mexico.

Blair seems to love Mexico, although that love is certainly second to his love of women or, rather, making love to women. Most of these are love poems, making it or longing for it. The poet can cut a great line but the poetry is, for me, unsatisfying, the emotions never nuanced.

Time and tastes change and my opinion may also but my opinion is all I can offer. Others adore this book. You may also.

Travis has had an on going love affaire with the country of Mexico and it shows itself in his work. His poems treat this land of warmth and color as a lover's hands caresses his beloved. You will read this book over and over as it never grows old.
