She's a prissy big city girl,
Who has no business telling me what to do.

The family seems to think I've lost my mind a little bit.
So they hired this hot little thing to clean up my messes.
She hates me, right from the beginning.
But I can't get her out of my head.
We don't mix business and pleasure in this family.
But damn if I don't just want to pleasure her.

There's trouble for the Baker brothers on the horizon.
And this is just the beginning.

Kasey Krane is a tattoo artist living in the beautiful (and hot) state of Texas. She enjoys drawing but writing has recently become a new passion for her. Especially when it's too damn hot to do anything outside. Whiskey neat is her drink of choice and she's never met a truck she doesn't like. Enjoy her bad boys, she sure does.

Boring Tired Formula - DO NOT RECOMMEND

DNF at 6%. Promiscuous men are never attractive, romantic or wanted by smart, self respecting, self assured women. Successful women are not all ice queens. Author’s writing co-signs antiquated stereotypes.

This book is all about excessive drinking, drugs, wealth and mixed messages. The story-line itself is excellent and close to real-life issues in big business. I was giving this book good points and ready for the Epilogue when in the final chapter a new character was introduced, the goodness of the family event seemed to fall away and the reader is left with unexplained issues. Then there was The End and I could have done without that chapter of leaving me hanging.

There were quite a few grammatical errors, which made it difficult to read. I found myself going back and rereading certain parts just to make sure I wasn’t misinterpreting what was happening. I found the addition of the unknown sister at the end to be a useless piece of information. It’s mentioned at the very end, which brings up a conflict that is left unresolved. It honestly just seemed like a page filler. Not sure if I can get myself to read the rest of the books in the series.

Everette Baker is the eldest son, of recently deceased parents. He is forced to grow up & take responsibility not only of the family firm as well as his younger brothers. In order to do this, he must leave his drinking & partying ways behind. They hire a PR person who is the polar opposite and sparks fly between the pair.

This book was difficult for me to rate. The writing wasn’t bad but the storyline was choppy. It kind of started going somewhere and then would veer off. The main characters were not really likable at all so that may have had something to do with it. Then that ending…really?!

I thoroughly enjoyed this novel from the first page until the very last. It has been a very rare occurrence that I could just pick up a book and read it in one day; but, I was captivated by these characters and their amazing love story instantaneously.
