He's an alien prince with a wicked grin. She's being forced to marry his brother. Can this star-crossed couple claim their chance at love?

Lexi Seymour never expected to be in an arranged marriage—much less to an alien prince as part of a treaty with Earth. But when she discovers her husband-to-be is an awkward teenager during the engagement ball, the only thing worse is her immediate attraction to his cocky, blue-scaled, seven-foot-tall brother.

Crown Prince Anax Yio’hyra has never spent more than a single night in a female’s bed. When the playboy attends the engagement ball of his younger brother, he doesn’t expect to meet an intoxicating human that he can’t forget. Even worse, she’s his brother’s new fiancée.

Lexi refuses to betray her engagement despite her attraction, but Anax isn’t one to surrender what he wants—not when he suspects Lexi is his fated mate. Anax needs to convince Lexi to give their love a chance. But can they build a happy life when an intergalactic war is brewing?

ANAX is the first book in the Bride to an Alien Prince series. This full-length story has on-the-page heat, a guaranteed happily-ever-after, no cheating, and no cliffhanger. Each book can be read as a standalone, but should be read in order for maximum enjoyment.

Honestly I had no expectations going in but damn if this didn't disappoint me. Ultimately the story has all the typical moving parts good guys, bad guys, arranged marriage and not so secret betrothed and evil step mother etc etc.

Bottom line is it just didn't work for me. If the book could have been read ONLY from the hero Anax's POV I would've likely finished this.

The heroine Lexi was just a mess. See, the author fooled me into thinking this woman had some grit to her but as we read on I see the cracks in her phony armor. The author didn't do a great job with Lexi IMO. She was all over the place. One minute she is pushing Anax away because she's attracted to him and can't have the temptation being engaged to his younger brother. Okay, makes sense. Then she's acting like his best friend and accepting his company. Oh but with a flip of a switch she's being rude and ignoring him. Then on the drop of a dime she decides she suddenly can't marry his brother regardless of the repercussions and decides to go for it with Anax and then they had sex. Literally out of the blue.

Worst of all IMO was how childish she became. The flair for dramatics was so extreme I had to take a moment to verbally rant to my unsuspecting sister because of how annoying Lexi was. The moment she went from sorta annoying to full blown "hands in the air done with her" happened was when she ran away from Anax (for the second or third time at this point) and refused to let him explain about his betrothed. And let me tell you, reading Lexi being an emotional teenager by jumping to conclusions about Anax not feeling anything for her because he didn't find the right time to tell her about said betrothed was one thing but this moron had the NERVE to judge him for sleeping with her while he had a fiancee. You heard right! Lexi, who is/was still engaged to his brother had a hissy fit over him having a betrothed he felt nothing for in the same way she felt nothing for his brother because it was simply a duty. Nuts, right? I couldn't believe the nerve of her. And naturally the author tries to play this over dramatic and hypocritical behavior off because poor wittle Lexi had her heart broken by her ex who cheated on her with his ex. Come onnnn! Oh boo hoo about not trusting people. Sounded more like she had the emotional maturity of the teenager she was supposedly marrying.

I just couldn't. Lexi was a grown woman pushing thirty and she was just so immature in thought and actions. She flip flopped so much of her decisions that I got whiplash.

Anax was actually charming and I liked him which was too bad he had to end up with Lexi as his mate. Bummer.

🐰 These two are romantic, hot-and-heavy, and nasty. After reading a dud and DNFing two romances; this was exactly what I was looking for. A forbidden love. A floating above the bed sex scene.
(spoilers)
Lexi is used to create an alliance with a foreign planet. Little does she know the one she is to be married to is a teen with his own girlfriend. When Anax is a playboy that's smile and charm has bedded over 100 females. He is drawn to Lexi. Drawn to her in a way that the Goddess Hydra might just have blessed by the fates. His father has children mated across the galaxy with devious intentions. Let's not forget that Anax's older brother is missing or dead? Anax swooned my heart. He is sweet and naughty, yet playful.
First Page Nibble:
🐰 "How do I get myself into these situations?" Lexi muttered. She pulled at the high neckline of the dress her uncle's assistant stuffed her into. The ornate gown pinched at her shoulders, drowned her in embroidered crystals, and itched thanks to a white shimmering overlay. The damn thing even had a cape. Every step ended with the possibility of her tripping and falling flat on her face.
Quotes:
🐰 Anax nearly bent the fork in his hand. Breeding Alexandra with Phinitias, his brother.
🐰 Learn her likes and dislikes so he could spoil her.
🐰 As a Herkleian male, it was his duty to find food for the females around him. A primal instinct, as much as the throbbing in his pants urging him to claim her.
🐰 How would it feel to graze his teeth against her skin?
🐰 He flinched at the mention of his brother. Alexandria and Phinitias fucking.
🐰 Soon, her soft pink lips would be on his scales.
🐰 "Ganja berries. They're quite sweet. " He paused, a playful look entering his eyes. "I love to suck on them."
🐰 Anax wanted to throw her over his shoulder and carry her from the room.
🐰 One day, she'd run towards it.
🐰 "This is the door to my chambers. In case you ever need to know."
🐰 His blood roared, demanding that he claim her.
🐰 Anax retreated into the hall before he punched a wall in rage. Phinitias and Lexi, fucking.
🐰 Anax wouldn't allow anyone to touch Lexi. Not now, not ever.
🐰 "We'll go slowly."
🐰 "Beg me to fuck you, Lexi."
🐰 The urge to claim her spread like a fire through his body.
🐰 Anax wrapped her in his arms and pressed her against the wall.
🐰 His delightful, little mate.
🐰 "I'm going to watch your matebond mark form as I fuck you."

The writing and editing of the ARC version of the manuscript was clean, with no typos that I found and well constructed sentences. The world building was okay, though the landscape and culture of the hero’s planet did not come to life for this reader. The characterization was okay, with hero and heroine both being sympathetic individuals, though not especially nuanced. The development of the romantic relationship was not very enjoyable for me, with a lot of silly angst that detracted from my enjoyment of the novel. The heat level was three chili peppers. There was high angst in this novel which I did not enjoy and high stakes, which I did enjoy. The plot and pacing really picked up and became interesting in the last 40% of the novel, though I was bored for the first 60%. This novel used the Fated Mates trope, which I typically enjoy. The world building was two stars. The plot and pacing were four stars. The characterization and development of the romantic relationship were both three stars. I therefore gave this novel a combined rating of three stars. This novel ended on a Happy Ever After ending instead of a cliffhanger ending, so that was a big plus. I recommend this novel to readers who want to check out a short, undemanding read through Kindle Unlimited, though there is sci-fi romance out there with much better world building. I am uninterested in reading the next book in this series when it releases, and I will not be buying myself a keeper copy of this novel.

My review has to address two forms for this story - the first being the ebook, which I purchased; and the second being for the audiobook, which I received a free copy to review. The combined score is why I give this a four star rating overall.

I like the story itself and would give it a five stars:
Lexi (h) has been coerced by her uncle to become the fiancé of an alien prince, who turns out to be and eighteen year old boy who's eight years her junior. She finds herself attracted to his older birther, Anax (H), the Crown Prince of Herkleios. I like the storyline with its romance, hot and intense sex scenes, fated mates, political intrigue and action, and enjoy Lexi and Anax as characters very much. As the first full book in the series (yes, there is a prequel), it does a good job of world and culture building, and really sets the tone for the series.

I'm not wild on the audiobook and would give it three stars (and I'm being kind):
The narrator for the audiobook is Skyler Morgan. He was okay for the Anax/male voices, but I just couldn't stand his attempt at Lexi/female voices - trying to a do a smooth, higher pitch voice just did not work for me. Because I'd read the story before, I strongly considered not finishing the audiobook but decided to plow ahead. I will not be listening to it again and am thankful I didn’t pay anything for it other than my time.

Lexi is to be married off to an alien prince in order to form an alliance with an alien race, and she's ready to do so until she finds out her betrothed is a teenager and she won't be marrying him until he's older. Until then she'll learn their customs and be treated like the alien princess she will be. But her betrothed brother, Anax makes her feel alive and she's more than a little attracted to him. Anax flirts with her and she likes it but his step mother warns her that he's a womanizer and will leave her after he gets what he wants. So now Lexi is torn, should she have a little fun with Anax and risk angering the King and Queen or ignore Anax and marry the other prince when it's time.

But it turns out that the King has big plans and when Lexi gets in the way of those plans, she is kidnapped and held on another planet until she can be "taught" to do what she's told and do what the King wants. But when Anax finds out what's going on, he'll stop at nothing to make sure the woman he loves is safe and his once and for all.

I had such a good time with this book. Not only did it have the romance and hunky aliens but it also had action, intrigue and danger. What more could you want?

In this novel, an alien civilization visits earth and demands a marriage alliance. FMC is the niece of the childless billionaire who made first contact, so the duty falls to her instead of… idk, the child of the US President? The UK royal family? Someone from the UN? There were a lot of more logical options here, but we must suspend or disbelief.

Unfortunately, the FMC’s betrothed is a teenager with a hot, unmarried older brother who instantly sets his sights on her. FMC has been cheated on before, so for the first 45% of the book, the FMC is determined to avoid the MMC and stay faithful to her intended. And then she just does a 180 for no discernible reason and from then on they can’t keep their hands off each other and it’s insta-love. 🤷🏻‍♀️ just fated mates things, lol.

Neither of the MCs seems to have much personality outside of just being horny for one another. This book went out of its way to throw in a bunch of currently popular tropes, and did none of them justice. Only one bed, fated mates, MMC groveling on his knees (for about 2 seconds 🙄) “beg me to f**k you,” FMC gets kidnapped by someone we trusted, MMC has a secret that almost breaks them up, etc etc. It was… fine.

A very good read

A very Well rounded book, Lexi a forgotten poorer relation (niece) of her billionaire uncle, who makes a deal with the newly discovered Alien race, TO JOIN THE ALLIANCE! To cement this alliance, HE PROMISES HIS NEICE to the teenage price of the Alien King XENO… (something lol) xenobaccious? Oh well?..
Lexi is on her way to marry the teenager prince who she’s never met. But his older brother heir to the throne ANAX has other plans. Lexi is his fated mate. And no one, not his little brother, his step mother the queen, his father the king, nor his people are gonna tear him away from her.. or will they? Can they? Do they?
Only minor continuity issues none worth reporting or beating the author over the head with. However in some other books in this series did not make it quite as unscathed.
Author could use a good or (better alpha reader) to catch these things. I’ve read 4 books in this series waiting for the next to be released in mid august. 2021
A very good series regardless of continuity issues. This one (ANAX)had only few teeny tiny ones.

Lexi and her mother were struggling to make ends meet after Lexi's father died. The had huge medical bills and very little money. Then aliens came to Earth and Lexi's rich uncle was the first to greet them. The aliens cement treaties by marriage and so her uncle arranged for Lexi to marry an alien prince. Lexi agreed as long as her uncle settle her father's medical bills. When the royal family threw a party for Lexi and her prince, Lexi was feeling out of place. Then she met her future groom. He was a teenager eight years younger than her. Lexi is in shock when she is approached by Anax, the crown prince. Now Lexi is in the undesirable place of being engaged to a teenager but super attracted to his older brother.

Anax is confused about how drawn he is to Lexi. If her didn't know any better he would swear that she is his fated mate. However fated mates seem to have disappeared hundreds of years ago. He knows he should keep away from his brother's fiancee but he is just too drawn to Lexi.

WOW! This new series is going to be soooooo good! Once I started this story I couldn’t stop. Lexi and Anax are meant to be, and it is so obvious from the very first chapter. Too bad she’s been betrothed to his much younger brother, but every relationship has its issues right? 🤷🏻‍♀️😆 I loved the banter back and forth between our star crossed lovers (pun intended). Lexi is so strong willed and stubborn, and Anax is a moth to a flame, even if he knows he shouldn’t be. I was on the edge of my seat, sighing and laughing and frustrated, during the whole book. I would also like to state, for the record, that I think Lexi’s uncle and Anax’s stepmother would be perfect for each other....I wanted to pop both of them upside the head (a lot lol). This is just a fascinating world to walk into, and I can’t wait to see where it leads next!

"Beg me to fuck you, Lexi"

Wow..these two literally had sex in the air 😈😈.. now that's a new one. Interesting..😏🖤

Lexi finds herself betrothed to an alien prince so she has to move in their planet, Eritea. Little did she know what was coming for her. She feels sexual attraction for her fiancé's brother.. Crown prince of the Herkleios, Anax.

Anax himself even though he knows Lexi is to marry his younger brother can't keep his eyes or hands off her. Both of them try to deny what they feel and avoid each other but it becomes more and more difficult when the attraction grows day by day.

And when someone tries to hurt Lexi in order to keep her away from Anax then he will bring everything and everyone down to keep her protected and close to him.

The story is quite sexy and we have some interesting features on these aliens like scales, fangs and regarding their.. penis? *cough..ridges..cough*

This was really nice 🖤

Lexi is a normal human girl from Earth and is being put into an arranged marriage with the youngest prince of the Herklaiens. He is much younger than her and is practically a child, but her eyes wander to the crown prince himself, Anax. Anax feels something for the small human girl that is meant to be his brother's wife. He works hard to try and earn her trust so that he can have her all to himself. What the pair don't know is that there is a plot involved and the evil party will do anything to make sure their evil plans come to fruition. I really enjoyed this story. Lexi kind of annoyed me when she ran away from situations instead of facing them like an adult, but the story has to have drama in order to be entertaining, so it can be excused since it didn't happen all the time. I liked the overall plot and I was pretty surprised at the ending to the whole thing. This was a really good read!

Treachery

Alexandra's uncle, a wealthy billionaire, negotiated a treaty with the Herkleian empire to be admitted to the Intergalactic Alliance. As custom dictates, it's sealed with a marriage between the two parties involved. Her uncle never married n has no offspring, so Lexi (as she likes to be called) finds herself betrothed to a Herkleian royal. When she leaves Earth n arrives the planet, she's shocked to find her fiance is an 18 year old child. But she actually finds herself attracted to Prince Anax.
Anax takes one look at Lexi n feels a compulsion to feed her as he sees her eying the buffet table. He goes out of his way to be in her company. The more he talks to her the feelings deepen within his soul. She's his naiga or soulmate. He knows she feels the same attraction but she's betrothed to his younger brother, yet he craves her presence.
But the King has a hidden agenda in store for the members of the Alliance.

Action and intrigue w/a sexy alien who knows how to please his mate

Arrogant, cocky crown prince and heir apparent Anax - can have any woman he wants and does. Lexi, strong armed by her odious uncle, is reluctantly engaged to his younger brother. There's an immediate attraction between the two which she is determined to ignore both because it's inappropriate and what's at stake for her immediate family if she reneges. He has no such scruples and pursues her. Realizing she can't go through with the marriage to his brother, she breaks off the engagement. Anax finally gets his head out of his ... realizing she's his mate but not before she learns he lied to her. Unfortunately for them, their relationship runs afoul of a sinister plot and they'll have to work together to save the galaxy and their HEA.

Enjoyed this book !!!

I thought this book was a cute easy read. Good characters , although Lexi's changes about what she wanted gave me whiplash . I did enjoy the chemistry and dynamic between Lexi and Anax, I thought they were a great match !!
Lexi ends up as a sort of sacrifice from her billionaire uncle to an alien . A very nice alien, but an alien nonetheless . When she gets presented to the aliens , she realizes the one she is promised to is actually little mire then a child !!! Too bad its not this very handsome, lovely, helpful Anax. Who ends up being the crown prince !!!! Lexi must find a way to tame her attraction to her betrothed's brother, and she is not at all certain that she can !!!
Anax has no idea why he is attracted to this human, but he cannot stay away from her !!!
These two were funny and cute and I enjoyed it !!

2.5 stars.
The story could have been better. They have four interactions, then they have sex, then they’re in love. Lexi changes her mind in the drop of a hat. First, she’s determined to be faithful, because she got cheated on, and promised to herself she would never do that to someone. So she rejects and avoids Anax, and that makes sense. But then she proceeds to act hot then cold with him and on their fourth interaction she decides “fuck being faithful, YOLO, let’s fuck”. Only to ditch everything because he didn’t tell her he was engaged. How didn’t she know? He’s the freaking crown prince, she’s gonna marry his brother, and nobody told her Anax was engaged? She didn’t think he probably was, with literally ALL of his siblings either married or engaged? This felt like a cheap way for the author to introduce drama.

Lexi Seymour and her mom had been struggling financially under a huge debt of unpaid medical bills. So when the opportunity arose to get the debt paid off by agreeing to an arranged marriage with an alien, Lexi agreed, provided her uncle used the money to pay off the debt. He in fact arranged for her to marry an alien prince, but at the engagement ball, she discovers that her future groom is a teenager! However his older brother, the Crown Prince Anax Yio'hyra, was quite attractive to her, even though she doesn’t intend to act on that. However, Anax believes that she is his fated mate!

Anax is not willing to give Lexi up and wants to convince her to accept him instead. Will he be able to change her mind? Who would break the news to the young prince?

Time I'll Never Get Back

Where to start? The plot could have gone somewhere, but it fizzled. The world building didn't make sense and wasn't explained; why all the levitating? The storyline had a weird arc and fell somewhere short of insta love which was not compelling or believable. The writing itself was coarse and choppy. The editing was non-existent with typos and grammatical errors with wrong use of phrases and words. And the ending power for the course. I turned the page and started reading what I thought was the next chapter, but stopped and went back because it seemed like I had skipped some pages. But no. There it was at the top of the page, "Epilogue." Unbelievable.

Just Great!

Thoroughly enjoyed number two in this series. Great characters and much to overcome in coming together as mates. Lexi discovers she is to be the fiance of an 18yr old prince! Then she meets Anax! He feels drawn to her and soon she to him. The King sees their growing friendship is not wise and has Lexi taken away, supposedly until his youngest is ready to wed. Anax discovers what his father is really up to and soon leaves to find his mate and rescue Lexi. Both face obsticles before Lexi can alert the alliance and then both return to fix things. Finally able to enjoy their future together. Now to read of Eryx's return and finding his own mate! :)

"Uncle Grayson had married her off to an alien child."

Lexi never thought she and her Uncle were near and dear family members, but the more she learns about the marriage he's arranged for her, the less she likes it.

Anax has a reputation as the playboy Prince, but there's more beneath the reputation, his actions prove that time and again.

This done in one story ties loosely to some of the supporting characters from Kyrix, but is a solid stand alone story in an interesting Universe where Lexi learns the hard way the some aspects of politics are the same, no matter where you go.

Okay like 3.5 stars. For one the overarching plot line with the King was beautifully done. Two the sex was good. Three we love a spunky heroine and Lexi certainly fits the bill. Four there’s just something about a cocky asshole with a heart of gold underneath that gets to me, no matter the species, and Anax is a fine specimen. I really enjoyed seeing the other planet. However setting up an engagement for an actual child really gave me the heebie jeebies. So definitely wasn’t a fan of that. It actually made me root for Anax and Lexi even more. The queen is a baddie in her own right, and I liked her more than I thought I would.

Wow!!! I loved this book, it is a great first book to introduce the characters and world of this series. Anax is one hunky and handsome main man and Lexi is sweet, loving but conflicted character. Since how she meets her mate is a little strange. I loved them together and watching them grow to love each other and become mates. There are twists and turns and keeps you turning the page until you see how the story ends. I can’t wait to see book 2 in this series!!

Lexi has been betrothed to an alien prince by her uncle. Unfortunately it’s too late when she finds out he’s still a teenager. Despite that she has got the hots for crown prince Anax and he feels the same way. They feel a pull bringing them together and Anax is convinced she’s his fated mate. Lexi won’t betray her fiancé, that’s not how she is. But the pull for them to be together is too strong. There’s a war brewing and they may not have the chance to be together.

This very well written book 1 in the Bride to an Alien Prince Book Series was intriguing as it has well-crafted scenes, storylines and amazing characters. These characters have strong wills and personalities with believable interactions. This interesting story has the following: drama, twists, turns, adventure, action, danger, love, steam and a HEA. It is a fast-paced, alien romance book that will keep you engaged throughout.

Loved the book it was great, the story was written well and the characters were interesting. Lexi was struggling to pay a debut left buy medical bills, her uncle organised an arranged marriage with an alien prince. The engagement ball she had noticed the prince that she was to marry he was younger than her, it was Anax that she was attracted to, he is the crown prince. Who will Lexi marry the young prince or Anax the crown prince?

TRUST & BETRAYL

Wow ….talk about betrayal and abuse of power!! That’s at the core of some governments both earthly and Alien! Anaxs’ world and the coalition are built on the premise of building, supporting and encouraging new worlds but not everything is at it seems! Lexi finds herself faced with life changing decisions and challenges that will rock her future and the future of earth! Love is both Lexis’ strength and weakness ….what price will it cost! Lots of laughter and angst! Loved Anax and Lexis’ story!!

This was a DNF for me at like 20%. The heroine was insufferable to me. Why is she so mean to him right away? Then she goes from telling him to never talk to her again (even though they just met and he's been nothing but nice) to telling him to call her by her nickname....
Why does this alien planet have very obviously earth based mythology, and somehow this random alien the planet just met just *happens* to have the same Daddy kink as humans?
I knew I'd just be annoyed at Lexi the whole book so decided to just give it a pass.
