Gorilla Garage

Anything can happen at Gorilla Garage. It's where gorillas do the fixing. It's where orangutans do the pumping. It's where grease monkeys do the odd jobs. And it's where chimpanzees make you feel right at home. Let the magical monkeyshines at Gorilla Garage pick you up, fix you up, and send you off with your motor humming. You'll be moving at top speed in no time.

Playful illustrations by Vincent Nguyen lend a hand in a story that s all monkey business. What a gas!

My boys loved this rhyming book about a boy and his dad who are out on a drive when they have engine trouble. I think they liked it because of the ending (if the dad lets his son drive, they won't have to pay the mechanic).

A car breaks down. A tow truck came with a gorilla driving it. He towed the car to a garage where chimpanzees put it on the rack. The ape from "King Kong" came in wanting to know where his car was. The boy saw an orangutan crew pumping gas and wiping a windshield and baboons filling a van up with gas. A gorilla mechanic grabbed him and put him into the car then told him to drive. His dad came out, frantic, and the mechanic told him if he'd let his son drive everything would be free. So he did.

Fantastic fun filled car story

I know a small car obsessed boy who will love this book and I'm betting he will ask for it over and over. It's exciting, full of impossible fun happenings, and the boy gets to drive home.

Fun read aloud where the rhymes are predictable but not forced. I like the vocabulary choices. Would be nice to pair with Little Engine that Could or Goodnight Gorilla.

A cute rhyming story about monkey mechanics. Although it doesn't flow perfectly at times, it's still a fun read.
