Great Story!

Taisha Ryan is definitely underrated! I really enjoyed this story! I enjoyed the storyline and the dialogue between Ivy and Ramon was so entertaining! I will say that at times I had a bit of a hard time understanding Ramon! I had a hard time connecting with his character. I still don’t quite understand what would make him pursue a career as a parole officer, which he didn’t find much fulfillment in. He left behind taking over his father’s businesses to do this. I did grow to love Ivy! She was something else! Initially, I was put off by her scandalous demeanor but there was so much more to her that I grew to like. Overall I definitely enjoyed this story!

Sometimes you find love in unsuspecting places

I liked watching Ramon and Ivy’s relationship unfold. I think each character was developed nicely, although the physical descriptions were minimal. It was interesting how both their lives mirrored one another despite being from opposite sides of the tracks. I also liked how we got to see the internal struggle we often face when trying to live the way we’re expected too. From Ramon’s obligations to his job, his family and Ambrose to Ivy’s struggle to stay out of unnecessary trouble, her relationships with Cazz, Gutta, and her mom. I was happy to see they were able find solace in one another.

What a story

Wow! The storyline had me in my feeling. The couple met under unusual circumstances, and then they had to deal with the Insta emotions from that very first encounter. Ramon and Ivy were like oil and water, yet they fit like a well-tailored suit. His issues and hers mirrored one another's in some ways. The writing was exquisite and the story bit at my souls core.
It was emotional and the story kept coming at me at every turn. A compelling story you should read, you hear?

I loved it

What I love most about this author is that although her stories are fictional the characters are so relatable that you feel like you know them personally and get sucked right into their lives as if you’re right there with them. Ramone and Ivy were so wrong but so right together. From the moment they spoke you felt the sparks. They both had some deep rooted insecurities stemming from family memories, eating them down you didn’t know how they would react from one moment to the other. I’m so glad I read this book. I can’t wait to see what this author has coming next.

I loved the blurb for this story, so I immediately got it on Kindle Unlimited. However, about 10% into the novel, I started thinking it was too urban for me. However, I kept reading. It got better. Ramon and Ivy are hilarious together. I could relate to Ivy having a "smart a$$ mouth" since I've heard that about myself. Ramon was relatable as well. The love scenes were okay, but I have read steamier and more explicit. Initially, the pacing was slow and there were times I was ready to move forward. However, it picked up towards the middle and went fast. Overall, this was a good read and it kept my interest. I think Taisha Ryan is now on my favorite artist list.

Loved It!!!

Taisha, you did it again. This story definitely pulled my heart strings. Two troubled souls who needed each other to elevate to the next level and bring out the best in each other. I'm so glad Ivy & Ramon got their happy ending. There's always a life lesson in Taisha's books. This life lesson shows Ivy when to leave past friends and lifestyles alone when it's time for the next season of your life. My heart hurt for Gutta. He just couldn't let the street life go. I can't wait for the next one!

I love me a taboo novel and this was a really good read. The story was very well written, the characters well developed, and it flowed. This was actually the first book I’ve read by this author and I will definitely be reading more.

I’m blown away

I loved this book! Well written and although my stomach turned with the pain and passion of these two I knew the connection was too strong. This book simply blew me away.
