A very quick look via journals from three generations of the Harrington family and their obsession with a vampires, Henri and Eleanor, whose allure both beguiles and unleashes promised of vengeance from them. An interesting historical look at vampire hunting. Not bad but not thrilling by any means.
I’ve read a couple of the authors short stories, which I thought were only average, so I was surprised by how much I enjoyed this old school (where vampires were feared and hated), diary-form story of a family and their history with vampires. It was offered as a freebie for newsletter sign-up & I think it’s definitely worth a read.
Good read, reminds me of a cross between Dracula and a zombie movie
Some books are printed in just the right format, and Chronicles of the Undead, by AF Stewart, is one such book. The slender, over-sized paper-back feels just right doubling as a diary in the reader’s hands. And the large type-face fits the sparse journalistic writing perfectly.

Author A.F. Stewart has managed to accomplish a none-to-easy task in the realm of the vampire novels. She has managed to create a unique and captivating voice in a realm populated mainly by Anne Rice and Laurell K. Hamilton clones substituting melodramatic whining and gratuitous sex for depth and substance.

I really enjoyed this story! In the form of a diary that follows 3 generations of the same family & their interactions with vampires! Who will be tempted? And at what cost? Have already recommended to my Mom!

Chronicles of the Undead is a decently good short story. It's a diary in three parts. The first part is about Samuel Harrington, the father who becomes a vampire. The second part is about Edmund Harrington, the son who becomes a vampire hunter. The third part is about Charlotte Harrington, the granddaughter who follows in her father's footsteps.
