Good read, reminds me of a cross between Dracula and a zombie movie

These days when people think of vampire books they think of emo teenage angst-ridden romance yarns like "Twilight" instead of classics such as "Interview With the Vampire" or the granddaddy of them all--"Dracula." With "Chronicles of the Undead", AF Stewart goes back to those traditional favorites to spin a short, breezy, but satisfying yarn about a family cursed by vampires.

It all begins near the end of the 18th Century in England when Samuel Harrington meets his new neighbors: Henri and Eleano

Some books are printed in just the right format, and Chronicles of the Undead, by AF Stewart, is one such book. The slender, over-sized paper-back feels just right doubling as a diary in the reader’s hands. And the large type-face fits the sparse journalistic writing perfectly.

I’d read the first chapter online before receiving my own copy of the book. Any doubts I had about how the writing style would work in a complete novel were soon laid to rest (together with various hapless women of the nig

Author A.F. Stewart has managed to accomplish a none-to-easy task in the realm of the vampire novels. She has managed to create a unique and captivating voice in a realm populated mainly by Anne Rice and Laurell K. Hamilton clones substituting melodramatic whining and gratuitous sex for depth and substance.

Chronicles of the Undead offers the reader a closer look at the lives of two Victorian era vampires residing in London, and the people whose lives intersect with theirs, through a series of di

Review: Chronicles of the Undead
Diaries of the Harrington Family
by A.F. Stewart

Review Written by Kriss Perras Running Waters

"For the bloodsuckers enclave," these are the words that begin a journey told through a series of diary entries of a single family that spans generations. Samuel, the father, Edmund, his son and Charlotte, Samuel’s granddaughter and Edmund’s daughter, comprise the main Harrington family diary writers. The story begins in London, England in 1793 with a rather normal day in

Chronicles of the Undead is a decently good short story. It's a diary in three parts. The first part is about Samuel Harrington, the father who becomes a vampire. The second part is about Edmund Harrington, the son who becomes a vampire hunter. The third part is about Charlotte Harrington, the granddaughter who follows in her father's footsteps. I love reading stories in diary formats, and this book was no exception. It made for a quick, fun read. I didn't have a favorite character. The characte ...more

Looking for an atmospheric, quick read? Fancy a traditional vampire story set in the late 1700’s through the early 1800’s that incorporates enough historic touches to its journal-entry story to enrich the reading experience? Then A.F. Stewart’s “Chronicles of the Undead” is for you!

“Chronicles of the Undead” follows a segment of the lives of three generations of Harringtons. According to Samuel Harrington’s journal acc
