Desiree was missing, presumed dead,
But I wasn’t giving up on my sister.
People don’t just disappear—
Not on an island this small.
Now I’m swept up in its strange secrets,
Confined within its unyielding customs.
I won’t succumb to the alluring giant with the deep blue eyes,
Won’t consent to the captivity he calls desire.
Passion this forbidden can never be sustained.

Well I like Jeemie way more than I liked Resmie. Jeemie is like what I wished Resmie would have been. Just slightly compassionate. Keeping some things private. Not looking for every little instance to go overboard on some control freak punishment. There was no resolution to Jeemie's and Elodie's story. There still hasn't even really been resolution to Resmie and Desiree's story either, except when the chance came she chose to stay. Even though she was conflicted and made out like she wasn't doing it out of love for Resmie. I don't know this series is weird. So far, I haven't found anything romantic about it at all.

So, this group of isolated so-called highlanders with their own beliefs/faith, social organization, modernization repudiation and archaic rituals are basically a cult, right?

I can't believe I didn't notice this before. Why didn't the author just go in that direction and have fun with it? I think it would've been more bearable to read that way.

Forbidden Desire is the second book of a series of stand alone books, written by Felicity Brandon. This series is proving to be a rather interesting and new approach in the dark romance genre. As is usual for this author, the world building is clear and easily seen, her characters are unique and interesting, and the plots of these first two books come together seamlessly.

This is the story of Elodie, sister of Desiree, and Jeemie, the brother of Rasmie, each from book one. Elodie has come seeking her sister and in her quest she encounters Jeemie. The story proceeds from there, and it’s quite a good story. I don’t want to talk about plot because I think it best that these stories unfold as they are intended.

Felicity Brandon is a talented writer. I’ve enjoyed every one of her books that I have read. And I’ve read quite a few from this prolific author. This book is every bit as good as all the previous ones, so it comes highly recommended.

Wow! What a wild story!! The island that is almost not even on a map holds many a secrets. Eloide is on the hunt for her missing sister Desiree. What she finds is so much more. This book is filled with passion, power exchange and ultimately love. It shows a way of life long forgotten in our modern society. Proving that just maybe, old ways are better? It is up to each reader to decide for themselves. It’s a highly entertaining and intense read. I loved it!

A captivating, riveting read with great characters and plot
This was a wonderful read; I enjoyed the first book and had been waiting for this book and was equally as enamoured with this book. The characters Eloide who had been desperately searching to find her missing sister, she will move heaven and earth and has not once given up or been deterred.
In this book we interact with the character Jemmie who in fact is the younger brother of Rasmie and for those of you that read the previous book you will recall that he was also in this book.
I do not want to give away too much about the book but I will say that you will find this a somewhat dark story that is filled with action and desperation, family loyalty and a loyalty to finding missing family, being willing to do whatever it takes to succeed.
I look forward to future books in this series and know that like myself once you read this book you will not be able to put it down until you reach the final page.
I assure you that you will love every moment of this book it is simply a fantastic read.
I voluntarily received and review an Advanced Reader Copy
I thoroughly enjoyed the book and look forward to reading any future publications; keep up all the great writing.

GAH! I loooove Ms. Brandon's books: the characters, the plots, the WRITING.
She never fails to deliver for me, I'm always sucked into her stories & swirled away into whatever world she creates. And she ALWAYS makes me PART of the story not merely a reader.
She's like those old Outer Limits episodes: you aren't in control during the show. And you aren't in control of your emotions when you start one of her books, Ms. Brandon is via her superb subtle SKILLED wielding of words.

This is the 2nd book in her 'Dark Highlanders' series, about Elodie & Jeemie. And I really enjoyed this one immensely. Jeemie is not quite as intense about his dominance of his woman (Elodie), at least in private & Elodie, despite what her contemporary feminist mind thinks, really really likes Jeemie as well as the heat they ignite.

This one is a wonderfully wicked whirl into another reality of unapologetically DOMINANT DOMINEERING men, humiliating punishments that somehow fuel the recipients lust, culture clash but love & a bone deep NEED to protect & provide for their women.

Wonderfully written fantasy romance I loved & I can't wait for the next in the series!

Elodie’s sister, Desiree, went on a short trip and disappeared. Where is she? Will she return home? Elodie is determined to find out.

When Elodie lands on a supposedly uninhabited island, she discovers it is colonized by a group of people ruled by men, who believe in controlling women through discipline. Desiree is the wife of, Rasmie, the island’s leader. Jeemie is his brother, and he becomes instantly captivated by Elodie. Will Elodie feel the same toward Jeemie? Will she be able to free her sister? Will she want to?

As with all of Ms. Brandon’s stories, this one is intriguing and erotic and easily pulls you into the complex relationships. I highly recommend this book and cannot wait for more!!!

I found the latest installment of the Dark Highlanders series, Forbidden Desire by Felicity Brandon has all the earmarks of a truly amazing story. This series just keep getting better and better the more I read it. It has action and adventure and it’s hot and sexy too. We now have twice the romance with Desiree sister Elodie now on the island and of course she gets her very own highlander Jeemie. The instant attraction that Elodie and Jeemie have with each other will truly make you hot and bothered. The book also follows Desiree and Rasmie as their love story continues to grow. I want to know where this island to see if I can find my very own highlander lol. I can hardly wait to read the next book in the series.

Eloide is looking for her sister, who we've met before in the first book. What she finds, whether she intended to or not, is Jemmie, who is Rasmie's younger brother. We also met him in the first book. I always tell myself that I don't know if I can handle the darkness that is Felicity Brandon but in the end, she always draws me in with her excellent storytelling. I won't say a whole lot in this review because you know, spoilers. Sorry, I don't do them. I loved everything about this story and the things that happen within the pages of it. Well written, dark, and can't put down are a few words I can use to describe it. Go ahead and pick this one up!

This one sucked me in on the very first page and even though I kept telling myself to slow down and savor the words I couldn't put it down. As much as I enjoyed Ensnared Desire, I loved this one even more. Elodie is more feisty than Desiree and Jemmie has a lighthearted teasing personality that I found charming. It's a very different dynamic than the one between Rasmie and Desiree and I found that many moments made me laugh. This story mainly focuses on Jemmie and Elodie, but it also continues to show the progress of the between Rasmie and Desiree. I loved every second of it and can't wait for the next one.

Whew what a story that you will never figure out the outcome it is intense like back in time we go with men who rule and dole out punishments to act accordingly.

I liked Desiree but her sister Elodie is a firecracker and Jeemie, Rasmie 's brother has his hands full to the rim with everything her. I really liked his character with his smirks and whispers he seems different then big old brute Ramsie
LOL Who I liked also don't get me wrong but we will see.

I really like where this is going and the seclusion of the island and descriptions. I read in one sitting it is that good. I love this Authors big lovable brutes alot.

Another wonderful addition to this Highlander island, dark romance.

Elodie to the rescue, or….

I loved the strong, Elodie, and Jeemie admires that as well! He is immediately taken by Desiree's sister's beauty, and spunk.

Jeemie is not like his brother Rasmie, not at all, and you see that throughout their story. However, you do catch glimpses of that "trait!"

Elodie, at least has one consolation being trapped on the island, her attraction to Jeemie! He makes her body hum!!! This story might make you hum!

I very much enjoyed this read!

Of all the crazy lengths you go for family, Elodie takes the prize. She for sure got her prize but not what she was expecting. I cannot wait to find out what else is in store for these sisters whose lives are so interwoven that they will never be far apart. What tragedy will Alban bring to this mysterious land of paradise?

I read and reviewed a copy of this book.

I loved reading it. Wow what a great second tale in an excellent series of the dark highlanders. I enjoyed the dominance and hot chemistry between the main characters Jeemie and Elodie. This is a well written story and I highly suggest it is well worth getting to read. This is my honest opinion.

Second book in this serie is as good as the first. El and Jeemie hit it off right from the beginning…in some ways. In other..not so much.
Their interaction is full of sparkles and will probably continue for a long time.
