Wall Street Journal and USA Today bestselling author Winter Travers is a devoted wife, mother, and aunt turned author who was born and raised in Wisconsin. After a brief stint in South Carolina following her heart to chase the man who is now her hubby, they retreated back up North to the changing seasons, and to the place they now call home. Winter spends her days writing happily ever afters, and her nights being a karate mom hauling her son to practices and tournaments. She also has an addiction to anything MC related, puppies, and baking.
Chase the Sunset was the ninth book in the Devils Knights MC Second Generation series by Winter Travers.
I’ve taken a break from formal reviews for a while, but a couple quick thoughts: I enjoyed both characters (Birdie & Easy). The storyline started exactly where the previous book left off with Easy fainting while in the hospital waiting room. Travers took us through the health issues with Birdie helping to navigate the way as a doctor and friend to the MC. Travers also added a challenge from Birdie’s past that crept into the present. It was a quick read with some sadness mixed in. I would have liked a deeper dive into the conflict - it abruptly ended without much depth - but it was still enjoyable. Additionally, another teaser segue into the next book with Snapper in Freedom Ride. All in all, it was another great addition to the series!
What makes this book so “real life” was that Easy was fighting with a tumor on his brain not knowing if it was a tumor or cancer. For me this author knocked this book home because of the way this storyline was handled. I loved how the whole family of the Devils Knights MC gathered around Easy when he was going through this even with some lighter moments with the older bikers.
Birdie was working the ER when Easy went down and she’s been by him throughout. I really liked how Birdie was open to something happening with Easy when she wasn’t his doctor. Birdie also had her own issues when someone from her past showed up and turned her world upside down. Nothing like have Easy and the rest of the MC behind her.
Another great book by this author who always seems to give me everything I love in my MC books. The build up to Snapper’s book is one I can’t wait to get my hands on next.
Another great read from Winter Travers. Chase the Sunset is book 9 in the Devil Knights 2nd Generation and they get better and better with each addition. This one is Birdie and Easy’s book. I love the banter that goes on between everyone. How Winter still writes about previous couples. I love the continuation of the characters. The only thing I hate are the left hanging for the next book in the series. Not really a cliffhanger the current couple gets the HEA, it’s just a big leave you hanging for the next one. Any who. Back to this one, starts off with Easy in the hospital and Birdie being in the Emergency room when he comes in. She stays around and helps him get better and of course end up together. It’s all the stuff that happens in between that keep you turning the pages. In which is what keeps me coming back for more and more. So if you love reading HEA with some left hanging at the end and hilariously ole ladies keeping their men on their toes, Winter Travers books are for you. I highly recommend this Chasing the Sunset (well I highly recommend all of her books) but this one is the current one. So go one click or get it where ever you buy your books. You will definitely enjoy it. Thanks again Winter for writing such fabulous books. I look forward to many re-reads and many new releases.
Let me start this off with this is one of my favorite series. The 2nd generation that is. And I think it's because the OG's show up and play an important role in this generation's story. Also, I am a binge reader so every time a new book comes out I get to reread all the books and finish with the new one. It's like a reward. But then the book ends and I am left waiting for the next.
Now this book started where the last one ended with Easy fainting. Easy is an amazing character and I was on pins and needles trying to think of what would happen next. It took all the power in me not to read ahead because I needed to know if Birdie was going to be my boy Easy's HEA. But I didn't, that would spoil my fantasy. Now Birdie my girl, I think she is my favorite. (Shhhhh don't tell the others). This girl is a strong woman with a past that just may threaten the future. But hello that girl got the whole MC behind her. And that's just not the OG's and the 2nd generation that includes the women behind the MC and they are a force.
I haven't had a book play with my emotions in a long time that will have me tell the author to thank you. So thank you.
What an excellent heartfelt read. The author has given us a very emotional and exciting MC read with characters you just want to hug and tag along with to see where their story goes. If you read the prior book you know at its ending that Easy has collapsed while visiting at the hospital. Now he’s a patient, with Birdie as his Doctor (Birdie is one of his sister’s friends). While running tests she finds he has a brain tumor which caused his collapse and his constant headaches. While she believes it is benign, a specialist is brought in. From here the story takes on a whole new level of emotional twists. The family and club dealing with the “what ifs” as well as the “now whats”. Things that bring Easy and Birdie closer together - including things out of Birdies past that show up and the worst of times.
This is a very powerful book with a few twists and lots of emotional events (besides Easy’s condition). I can’t recommend grabbing it and the entire Series up enough. Plus in true Winter Travers fashion, she gives us a brief glimpse into the next book of the series that will have you anxiously awaiting its release.
WOW! This book had me on the edge of my seat there was so much excitement. I was crying in the beginning of the book and again in the end. The suspense gets so intense it made me jittery inside. As Birdie and Easy grow closer was so heartwarming and romantic. At times I was laughing out loud. When everyone was complaining about not being able to understand Dr. Gus was too funny. Greta is freakin hilarious! I was kinda hoping we'd get word on how Kerry from book 8 was doing. I love how all the ole ladies always come together for everyone. The way they welcome Birdie into the group was fun but I guess because of her already being friends with Luna and Greta already made her a part of the club. Birdie fits it perfectly. Easy is the perfect road name for Grant. When he's telling Birdie about Chasing the Sunset it instantly reminded me of the Eagles song, Easy like Sunday Morning. Every one of the books in this sries has an intense cliffhanger that leaves you screaming Nooooo! And this one is no different. I love every minute of it. I Highly Recommend this Series to Everyone.
Ok. I love this series, love that the 2nd generation are getting HEAs, and love that our original couples play such a big part in the stories! However, this one confused me. I think it will read better for me when I binge re-read the whole series, bc as a stand alone, it felt a little off.
We spend half the book in the hospital with Easy, and the other half contains a drama that felt wholly unnecessary. It felt like it was just the set up for the final book, and I feel a little like Easy & Birdie got cheated. We didn't really get a lot of page time with them together, relationship-wise. Like, they were building a good thing, and I love the scenes with them talking & flirting & becoming friends & then more. And Easy talks about how he loves chasing the sunset - but we don't get to go on that ride with him. I really wanted to see, to join him & Birdie when he takes her on that ride.
Anyway, I think my main thing is just that I love them & wanted more of them!! 😍
What a wild ride! This installment focuses on Easy and his discovery and subsequent recovery from finding out he has a brain tumor that causes him to be blind. Birdie, the hospital’s doctor who was covering the ER at the time of Easy’s blindness, becomes a friend of the MC after helping him that day, and finds that Easy and his family are requesting her to decipher the doctor lingo for everyone to ease their concerns. Through his recovery, Easy has begun to have true feelings for Birdie as he gets to know her, and she feels the same way. Once fully healed, he finds out that Birdie has an ex-boyfriend who turned abusive and has decided to work at the same hospital, and since a tiger doesn’t change his stripes, he’s on the offense with what will happen. The unthinkable happens in the process, and while Birdie isn’t the victim, sadly it hits home for both her and the MC and it had me reeling and so sad for these characters, and I can’t wait to see where Winter takes these characters in the aftermath! I voluntarily read and reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.
Winter did a great job with this story. Doc Birdie works at the local hospital where Easy collapsed. She's friends with his sister and they became friends as well, since he and his family were having a hard time understanding the big medical words from his neurosurgeon doctor. Easy had a brain tumor and surgery, but thankfully was benign, but he wound up blind for a short period due to the doctor accidentally nipping the optic nerve. Easy's favorite thing to do is riding his motorcycle chasing the sunset. There was an incident that happened to Doc Birdie and her ex, Aaron years ago and she promised to not report it if he left her alone, which he did until he got a job at the same hospital. A few twist and turns throughout and you need to read the story to see what happens next. Happy reading.
There's not a thing about Winter Travers that I don't love, and I'll never get enough of her writing ever. I love the fact that Chase the Sunset is the 2nd Generation to the characters that I fell so hard for, and I'm so glad she does it since I never wanted to say goodbye to the OGs. This book picks up after Easy collapsed, and landed in the ER, which is where he & Birdie's story (she's a friend of one of his sisters) begins. I mean he knew of her, but this is where they actually develop into something deeper as the situation gets crazy. I loved how Birdie fit right in with everyone, but she has a past that won't stay put & this is where she learns exactly who has her back. With her signature humor, emotion, and suspense, Chase the Sunset is another fantastic book by this amazing author that I HIGHLY HIGHLY HGIHLY RECOMMEND!
Chase the Sunset is book nine in the Devil's Knights and it is recommended to read these in order as the stories pick up from the last book with a new set of characters. In this story, we get Easy and Birdie. We learn as we already know that life is not easy and we are given a very true life matter in this book. It is eye opening and will have you seeing life through a different level. Birdie is completely opposite of the MC life, but of course fits well with the nutty girls. You will see that life can turn at a moment's notice and you need to do what makes you feel free. In the case of Easy it is Chasing the Sunset. You will love the MC family, but your heart will hurt a few times reading this. It leads into the next book and will have you Chasing the Sunset trying to get the next Freedom Ride.
Birdie is a Doctor at the Hospital where Easy has collapsed. He is in bed and apart from a severe headache his sight is going. Birdie is his sisters friend and he needs her to translate what the neuro surgeon says, as he is using 10 dollar words.
Birdie and Easy are attracted to each other and when he goes into surgery, Birdie is the one that his parents and other MC members rely on for updates or if needed layman's terms.
This is one of the best MC books I have read by Winter Travers and I absolutely love her books. It is done extremely well, has well rounded characters, and a sensitively handled medical situation. The plot and sub plots are well done. This has quickly become my favourite of all her books and I can't recommend it enough.
Winter I have loved this second gen as much as the first gen. In Chase The Sunset we get Easy and Doc Birdies's story... When Easy collapses and ends up doing some time in the hospital he gets introduced to Birdie who also happens to be a doctor at the hospital. She helps not only Easy but the other members of his family understand exactly what is going on with him. Their story is a slow-burn that is worth it. They take the time to get to know one another and build a strong bond that only strengthens their relationship. I loved getting caught up with the other members of the Devil's Knights. Oh and lets not forget the other ole ladies as well. This tight knit family really shows you that not all family is blood.
Chase the Sunset was a heartfelt romance with plenty of realistic events and characters that grip your heart easily. Birdie and Easy are the couple you don't expect but they work so well together. As Easy fights a health issue not knowing what the outcome will be, the person that keeps him grounded and steals his heart at the same time is Birdie. As these two progress into a relationship at a fast pace, Birdie's past will come back to haunt her and the MC will do what they do best. Plenty of emotional ups and downs, passion and what would the Devil's Knights be without the witty banter from the ol' ladies of the MC. Their story will end in a way that you just don't see coming and will have you on the edge of your seat for the next book.
Birdie and Easy’s story was quite a ride, one that brought me to tears. Birdie is a great woman but scars from her past makes her doubt her worth. Easy is a man who knows what he wants and shows no one his true fears. He trusts his club with everything. When Birdie’s past comes back and causes havoc only the MC can help. I love this glimpse into Birdie and Easy, I can't wait for more. Their journey is far from over and the pain they suffered in this story I don't feel has ended. I can't wait for more. I love this author and the ride she takes me on every single story. All I can say about Winter Travers is hold on and don't let go.
~~~~~~~~~~Julie's ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Review~~~~~~~~~~
Birdie and Easy have a beautiful story. I adore how independent she is and the fact the he doesn’t step on her toes. Great storyline full of characters that will keep you turning the page. Great book.
Easy and Birdie meet in that hospital where she works and he is having surgery. After he gets out they start up a romance that is a slow burn with a lot of sweetness. When someone from her past shows and starts issues will Easy be able to help her? Will she be able to open up to him? Will he make her see she is the one for him? I absolutely loved this book, has everything looking for I'm a book. The emotional twist, action, and the funny, intense moments ties this book together so well you won't see what's coming. Be prepared to have your mind blown. I came wait to read what this author has next.
This is the ninth book in this incredible series, and this is Birdie and Easy’s journey. When Easy collapses at the hospital Birdie is the doctor assigned to his case, and she is his sister’s best friend. Birdie is there for him and his family throughout. This is a well written story which is a friends / lovers romance, and is an emotional roller coaster, with family, friendships, humor, witty banter, twist, tragedy, suspense, intrigue, and love, which leads to an entertaining and addictive page turner. I look forward to reading more from this talented author whose work I highly recommend.
Chase the Sunset had me holding onto hope while I held my breath! Grant was so “Easy” to fall for and even easier to love. Birdie is such a sweetheart and a compassionate doctor. These two make the perfect couple. You need to read this for the t-shirts, Greta, the locker room, the Harley and the parking garage alone! I may have yelled at Winter and thrown my kindle but that’s a whole other conversation! All I know is I would love to Chase the Sunset with Easy forever too!
They had met thur the club and the old ladies. They were both attracted to each other, but are still leary of their feelings. When Easy is admitted into the hospital, he and Birdie get to know each other more and they both like what they see in each other. Easy has a brain tumor and is temporarily blinded. Birdie stays with him and helps him understand and to not give into feeling sorry for himself. Birdie learns first hand about the family of the MC, and the togetherness, that they all come together to do anything they can for th members and their families.
Families are all made up of blood but ones we choose. Ones who will stay with us when times are good and bad. That is what Winter Travers does with each book. While this book focuses on Easy and Birdie we get to watch their relationship grow. It was fun see it not rushed. But we also got to catch up with some of our favorites. I had all the feels with this book. I was not prepared for the ending and I can’t wait to see what happens next. An awesome book which had me in love from the start.
This story kept me turning the pages. Birdie was a wonderful woman, kind and caring, and willing to do that little bit more for her patients. She accepted the bikers mostly without hesitation. Easy relied on her as he underwent his treatment and recovery at the hospital she worked at. He was quite easy going when he wasn't panicking about his condition and his future. They were quite steamy together, and I loved the ending.
I received a copy of this story through Enticing Journey Book Promotions, and this is my unsolicited review.
Chase the Sunset is book nine in the Dark Knights Second Generation Series. These books should be read in series order as each book picks up where the previous one left off.
This was a quick, entertaining and easy read. There was a good mix of humor, banter, drama, plot twist, family, heartache, and emotional moments. It ends with a bang, but Winter, how you going to do Snapper like that?! 😭
Chase The Sunset is Easy and Birdie's and was such an emotional read for me. Their journey is heartbreaking and hopeful. These two are complete perfection together. Thankfully when Easy's problems started he was at the hospital where Birdie practices. Their relationship builds from there. Of course true to this author, they have plenty of little bumps, surprises, twists and turns they have to deal with, but that's what keeps things interesting right!
Loving this series! Birdie is a doctor at the hospital where Easy had collapsed and a friend of his sister. With all the medical terms being confusing Birdie is asked to help them understand what their being told. After the surgery they form a friendship that slowly grows into something so much more.
Chase the Sunset was a great addition to the series that had some drama, witty banter add in the family and you get a heartfelt emotional story.
Right from the start, there was never going to be anything easy about Chase the Sunset it was a story that was going to grab you by your emotional balls and not let go until the end, and I really do me the end, Winter Travers held nothing back in the 9th book in the Devil's Knights MC, from our heroine Birdie who also happened to be a doctor, to our biker boy Easy, this was one story when you wanted this couple to not only catch their Sunset but hold on to it with both hands!
Ms. Winter has done it again! I think I say this every single release, but seriously, the series just keeps getting better and better with every book. The girl gang was back and funnier then ever, although, I miss Cyn! The twists and turns and angst and lets not forget the complete gasp and crying at one point! I think I am going to have to do a reread so I can make sure I digested every single drop of the delish book!
We finally find out what happened to Easy; thankfully Birdie is a doctor and helps us out. This is an age gap where Birdie is older, but Easy doesn’t care. He is ready to claim her and everything that entails. Along with reading about these two, we also get to see all the others in the MC as well. These are stand alone books, but to get the whole story, read them all in order. Even the older generation have books; you won’t be disappointed by going to the beginning.
Another great read from Winter Travers. Chase the Sunset is book 9 in the Devil Knights 2nd Generation and they get better and better with each addition. For me this author knocked this book home because of the way this storyline was handled. I loved how the whole family of the Devils Knights MC gathered around Easy when he was going through this even with some lighter moments with the older bikers.
These books should be read in series order as each book picks up where the previous one left off. Chase the Sunset is book nine in the Dark Knights Second Generation Series. This book is a great read its has a fantastic plot very entertaining when the subject can be intense with medical information.Birdie and Easy make a great couple i really enjoyed reading this book.
