As it is winter it must be time to read a HSTQ winter edition...cos I'm years behind schedule I shall be reading 2022's edition.

First up is that thought I always have with these, where is Arthur's intro? I used to love reading those bits and they seem to be no more :-(

Jumping in to the poems...Joseph Farley has a rather zen piece, the monotony of toilet cleaning taken to an artform. Lovely stuff.

G. Arthur Brown gives us a sex poem, it's one of those ones I end up laughing and I feel guilty as I wonder if it is serious or not.

There are a few new poets in this collection the best of the bunch is Dave Cullern with Homesick, I liked how this flowed, getting darker and darker....reminded me of Insane Clown Posse's Nothing's Left.

John D Robinson shares us a masterpiece, it's horrible and sleazy and trashy, just what this collection is all about.

I never much liked poetry. Consequently, I don’t read it.

In keeping with this state of affairs, I have not read this collection of poems. I therefore have no business rating it or marking it as “read” here on GR. I certainly have no business writing and posting a review.

Nevertheless, I’m giving this poetry collection five stars and posting this review. Why? Cuz the editor looks like some sort of GOLDEN GOD AMONG MEN, that’s why. And if you disapprove, get flippin' bent, ya Simple Simon! >:(

(Just kidding. I read it. Good stuff. Fav poem of the bunch was “Pavlovian.”)

Really loved "Homesick" by Dave Cullern and "Today" by Nadja Moore. This magazine always has such unique and powerful voices. Can't wait to read the next issue.

Absolutely fell in Love w/ 'flows like water' by J.J. Campbell. "her lips will taste like /
what hope used to be / you feign choking / on your own brilliance / an old trick learned / back when your ego was still unbreakable / now that fucker is riddled / with so many bullets / the alcohol never stays in".

This issue: Mad, rad and dirty misfit fun, as usual. Look, poetry doesn't always need to be that serious, folks. This zine is a comfortable home for the unwanted thoughts born at 3 a.m. that need a playground so to unburden our annoyed, tortured and overworked minds. It's a home to relate, where shock doesn't exist without buying a round of drinks for laughter.

Loved all the poems, especially 'Poets Out of Service' by Michael Lee Johnson. "Who has sex in the back seat of their car anymore, just naked shots passed around online?"
'Pavlovian' by Kristin Garth and 'Homesick' by Dave Culern, 'The Solution' by Arthur Graham, and the wickedly indulgent imagery of 'Andre Breton's Massage Parlor' by John Knoll.
