My first friend, my first love… my first heartbreak.
It’s been three years. It’s time to let go of the past. When a man covered in tattoos walks into the bar where I work, with a guitar case slung over his back and a determined swagger, I think I’m finally ready to move on…until I see his guitar. I’d recognize it anywhere. It was the last gift Nate ever received from his father.
The man holding the guitar is different than the one I left behind in Nashville. But one thing remains the same, Nate Pearson is still the love of my life, he just can’t ever find that out.
There are valid reasons why I ended things. And those reasons haven’t changed. Only problem is, Nate Pearson still loves me, and this time he's playing for keeps.
Authors Note: Love & Tequila Make Her Crazy is a brother’s best friend, steamy contemporary second-chance romance filled with emotion, that features both Nate and Amelia’s past and present.
Trigger warning: Death of a parent, 9/11, and sexual assault.
This book made me really frustrated and there was absolutely no communication. I verbally screeched at one point at just how mad this book made me. It’s understandable if you don’t communicate when you’re young but they’re like 30 year olds it got old so fast. The heroine kept lying and lying and lying “to protect herself from more heartbreak’ but like babes if you’re that angry and hurt you’d be hurling accusations left and right— I almost wish she did shit would ‘be cleared up so fast. I was not rooting for them but accepted that they would be together because they made everybody else miserable and deserved each other. Heroine was literally willing to take back this man without addressing the fact that he cheated on her multiple times and though her brother should’ve died instead of their friend— now both of these things aren’t true but she didn’t know that. She made the Hero look like a saint but he really wasn’t, he was so selfish and had this girl dedicate her life and dreams to him since she was a child and he never returned that effort. She could sing but didn’t and stuck to writing songs for him, only sang with him, ditched her college plans to go move across the country with him and live with his rapist friend. HOW COULD HE NOT SEE SHE WAS SAD, UNCOMFORTABLE AND AFRAID of course the heroine wouldn’t have trusted him enough to tell him she was sexually assaulted by his bestie. The hero never does anything to check his so called friend. None of these things however were addressed in their reconciliation and heroine never told him any of this because she started blaming herself for the break-up and him cheating and her getting assaulted and everything was her fault according to her. In the end, it was the heroine’s brother who told the hero everything and I just don’t believe these two have a future together they just don’t learn and they both don’t put in enough effort into the relationship when in truly matters. There were too many people in this damn relationship and they both hid behind other people rather than talk to each other.
Nate and Amelia are childhood sweethearts that have always had a connection. First love, first kiss and first everything. She’s been his protector, cheerleader and the calming balm to his tortured soul. Nate lost his father in the 9/11 attacks and it has set him on a self loathing path. Feeling he wasn’t worthy of love for many years to come. Miscommunications, lies and stubbornness almost cost this couple their second chance. This story is about true love, soulmates and second chances. This couple will have to weather some storms at sea before they can truly find their HEA.
Love & Tequila Make Her Crazy - Bristol Bay #3 Second Chance Romance, Small Town Romance, Best Friends to Lovers
This can be read as a standalone but it intermingles with the books in this series. Though I highly recommend reading them in order as they will just make more sense. I was lucky enough to get them all read, including the novella before starting this. All your favorite characters from books 1 & 2 make appearances.
Nate and Amelia are childhood best friends, turned young love, turned marriage, turned divorce. Their story is one about communication or rather lack there of. It is of first love and loss and trying to find each other again.
This book had me HOOKED! From the prologue where you first see childhood crushes forming till the very end. I loved how this book went back and forth and we saw their love grow from childhood to teenage years to young adults to love lost.
Nate is the sweet and sensitive MMC who perfectly compliments Amelia's FMC hard stubbornness. The two struggle to communicate their feelings to each other during difficult times and causes rifts and tears in their relationship. Nate is also a child of loss from 9/11 and having grown up during that time period, I had many a friend who suffered a loss like him that broke them as well.
This book is so relatable on so many levels. At some point you will relate to Nate, Amelia, or their relationship, or even possibly all three. I would recommend this book and the whole series to anyone who was looking for a good small town romance with all the FEELS. Grab it on it's release March 16, 2022!
The spice level was upped in this book too. Where the first two books I would have rated 1.5 on the spice level, this one definitely climbed to a three and I was all for it.
Also the artwork added to the chapter pages and POV swaps was absolutely gorgeous and wonderful touch!
Thank you for the opportunity for the ARC read and I look forward to Shawn's story next!
There are not enough start for this book! I love the story of Nate and Amelia so much. They are sweet, feisty, stubborn, sexy and absolutely perfect for one another! By far a top read for me! This is what a perfect second chance romance should be. You have childhood sweethearts, a sexy tattooed musician, secrets that need to be revealed and more chemistry than I have ever read about. I’ll be buying a physical copy as well as soon as it’s available!
I couldn't wait to finally read Nate and Ames' story!! And Brittanee did NOT disappoint! This book had my heart tugging in all different directions at some points!!
This book is incredible. Nate and Amelia’s story is so perfectly broken. Their love is sweet and heartbreaking. Brittanée did an amazing job weaving this beautiful story.
I could not put this book down. I wish it could read it for the first time again. All the stars for this one!
I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
Love and Tequila Make Her Crazy is the third book in the Bristol Bay series and it’s a best friends turn lovers, second chance romance in a small town that you will absolutely not put down!!
We meet once again the characters from previous books- and this book can be read as a stand alone but of course it’s always best to read her other books to just get the overall picture of Nicole’s writing and this is by far the BEST. Nate and Amelia capture your heart from the very first page. This book really shows how communication is key is every relationship and the amount of heartbreak these two characters go through- it shatters all over the pages. Because their is absolutely no denying that these two characters are soulmates❤️
I love everything about this book- the struggles of a young couple in love basically for their whole lives and how simple miscommunication, heartbreak and death can tear apart their love story. It is exactly that. A beautifully written realistic love story and that’s what I took away from this- was how powerful it was. What I also absolutely love in Nicole’s writing is her way of dropping hints throughout the book- like you don’t get the whole picture in the beginning of why certain things went a certain way and it drives me wild because it make me not want to put the book down!! It took me an entire day to finish this- and it was so good I didn’t want it to end. She does mention trigger warnings in her book especially about 9/11 and being a fellow New Yorker… it hits home.
Amelia- strong female character- young in love and still had plans to go onto college and get herself a degree but Nate was her endgame- and following him and his career in music was one heck of a gamble. To see her struggle after their relationship fell apart for so many reasons that will be mentioned in the book she still was a hustler to get back on her feet. She definitely is no “damsel in distress”
Nate- this man captured by heart from the very first page- I mean I don’t think I have ever swooned so hard- just something about Nate fucking Pearson. You think he just gave up but this man fights hard for his lady and I loved everything this man had to offer- flaws and all.
The steamy scenes and the spice is this book was (chef’s kiss) she did amazing! Which was something I thought her previous books lacked just a tad bit but oh boy! Nate did me proud!!! And the support from her previous characters- like Jack and Charlotte!! Jack was a major point is this book and you can also see his growth too so it’s nice, you connect with all her characters and that’s what makes these reads amazing.
Like I’ve mentioned this is Nicole’s best work yet and I highly recommend this book! Congrats on the release Brittanée!!! Looking forward to many more reads from you and being a big supporter!
This story sucked me in from the beginning and didn’t spit me out until the very end. The most perfect second chance, childhood best friends to lovers 🤌🏻 The nicknames for each other, the trauma they navigated together, the grand gesture at the end 🥹🥹🥹 it all had me nearly tearing up!
I loved the dual POV along with the flashbacks to important moments in Nate and Amelia’s childhood/early adulthood. The dual timeline added so much to the story and made me fall in love with the characters even more! Not only were Amelia and Nate amazing MCs (new book boyfriend alert), but the supporting characters were perfect and added just the right touch to the story. I felt like I was in Bristol Bay with this entire cast of characters!
There was some miscommunication involved (which I usually don’t like in books), but it was done well here. When you are growing up you don’t always know how to communicate, rather you just jump to conclusions and blow up. The miscommunication in Love & Tequila made sense, it felt real - they were growing up together and thus learning to communicate right alongside each other.
This book navigated some heavy topics, without ever feeling heavy, which I loved. If you loved Love and Other Words I think you’ll love this one just as much! Can’t wait to check out the rest of Brittanée’s backlist!

This book! This book kept me up late, made me laugh, cry and swoon, and gave me a massive book hangover.
Nate and Amelia are childhood best friends turned lovers, turned married couple, turned estranged divorcees. You will fall in love with them both as they carefully unpack their baggage, let go of old hurts, and come together again. Nate is now my #1 book boyfriend. He pines for Amelia, pushes himself to be a better man, and sacrifices so much for her happiness. You cannot help but root for the brooding, tattooed bad boy.
The author skillfully weaves in different timelines, giving us a glimpse of their history and how the past is impacting the present. I also loved how the other Bristol Bay books and characters were integrated into the storyline.
I would be remiss if I didn't mention the heat - because this book is SCORCHING hot. Grab it now, one of my favorites of the year.
Nate and Amelia… Gah! I just loved these two. Both beautiful souls who are dealt a bad hand and make difficult choices because of it.
Their second chance love story is so easy to connect with because every emotion feels one hundred percent real… the pain, the heartbreak, the love. I was hooked.
Love & Tequila Make Her Crazy offers us not one but TWO love stories, Nate and Amelia’s first love that spans from childhood to young adults, and their second chance forever love that takes place in the present day. Seeing their spark ignite and grow, and reading what they went through to get to now, was everything. The bond they have from the very beginning will have you desperate to know their ending.
Brittanee Nicole has once again delivered a beautiful love story full of heart, humor and heat, so much heat. I can’t wait for what she has in store for us next.
Update Review Aug 2023: Omg! I read this book for the first time in March 2022 and it was epic. Nate became one of my favorite book boyfriend. And now I have the pleasure to listening to their story and let me tell you the emotions are even better. Falling in love Ames and Nate was simply perfection. This audiobook is narrated as duet, so you know is really amazing. Both narrators did an excellent performance. The story is still the same heartbreaking, emotional, crushing and stomping on your heart, Brittanee really loves that. But their moments, the romantic ones and the ones they share with an open heart? Those are *chef kisses*. And yes I cried, laugh and swoon a couple of times, specially sob (tissue needed warning). This is still one of my favorite second chance romance.
Meeting Nate and Amelia from the first beginning is amazing! I love them as children, teenagers, young adults and mostly as adults. I really enjoy everything in this story. The feelings are everywhere omgosh! You are going to laugh, cry and definitely want some cookies while reading, chocolate chips ones (mark my words). In some chapters I wanted to read as fast as possible, I needed more and more. I others a little bit slow down to savory every sweet/steamy detail. I don’t know how many time my heart ache, my tears fells and have a smile in my face while reading. This is definitely an epic book! The epilogue is freaking amazing too. Brit 🙌 congratulations you definitely keep getting better in each book 👏🏻
PS I loved all the “Almost” in this book, now the word has a new meaning for me ❤️
Oh my goodness. When I picked this up I thought I was going to read a ROMCOM - but this was SO MUCH MORE.
Where do I even begin? I loved how broken these characters were without one another - I loved the fact that there was so much history there that played into who they were as individuals and as a couple.
Nate is just so attentive and divine and I kind of wish he was real. And Cookie 😜 she was a difficult woman who only softened for him and I liked that reversal.
It had a sweet home alabama feel, but with a lot more depth and spice and I was here for the whole thing.
Nate and Amelia, you are exactly what I have been waiting for!
I was hooked from the prologue. Seriously, I was like yes!! Brittanée did you specifically write this with me in mine because check, check, check.
The story follows Amelia and her brother’s best friend, Nate, as they navigate life and love. The story switches back and forth between the past and present and I think it was done very nicely. It also made it a little angsty and I felt like I was really seeing and connecting with the characters.
I am completely in love with this couple and their story! Talk about all the feels. 💜
Grab it when it’s released on March 16, 2022!
*This is the 3rd book in the series but can be read as a standalone. I would highly recommend reading the other books in the series to get everything out of these books. But Nate and Amelia just topped of as my favorite couple of the series.
Now excuse me while I go nurse this book hangover. 💗

Thank you Brit for the ARC in return for an honest review.
Best friends, first loves, first marriage, first divorce. Nate & Amelia have been friends from childhood and have been through thier share of tragedy & joy. When Nate returns to Bristol after 3 years, Amelia is not happily surprised that her ex-husband has returned to town. He sets his sights on reclaiming his girl even if it means giving up the dreams he has for himself. Her brother is his best friend, Amelia works for his mother, and their families knew their feelings before they did. Can they find their way back to each other or has their chance at forever after been ruined by misunderstanding, failed communication, and secrets?
This book is not my usual genre but I absolutely devoured this book! The right amount of spice along with a well woven storyline that made me never want their story to end! It made me laugh, cry, and hate (only Grant lol) all the best components of a well written book.
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐/5
Trigger warning: 9/11, rape
Thank you @britdnicole for the gifted ARC copy in exchange for an honest review.
Love and Tequila Make her crazy is the third book in Brittanee Nicole's Bristol Bay series. This was the first book by Brittanee Nicole that I have read and all I have to say is I love her writing style can’t wait to read more.
I love the story of Amelia and Nate. Childhood sweethearts. First love, first kiss, first everything. That gets traumatized by loss of a father at 9/11 and a friend overseas that causes them to be apart and over for a few years. They get a second chance but it almost gets wreaked from the miscommunication, lies and stubbornness between each other. I really enjoyed the writing style and plot of this book. I was hooked from the time I started it and till the last page. I can’t wait to read more and would recommend this to everyone who loves romance.
I’ve loved all of Brittanee Nicole’s books but this was by far my favorite. I was unable to put this book down and while I did have to a few times, (Silly real life getting in the way of books) Nate and Amelia constantly stayed in my thoughts. Both broken for similar reasons watching them heal and find their way back to each other was amazing. Nate is the hero that will steal your heart and yet is also hot as fire! Watching him fall for Amelia as his best friend as kids and have that turn into a passion for her was so well done. At every point and every age these two moved through I could see and feel them at that age. You definitely need Nate and Amelia in your life!
✨BOOK REVIEW✨ Love & Tequila Make Her Crazy by @britdnicole
I’m lucky enough to be on Brittanée’s arc team and got an advanced copy of her newest book. Now… I’ve read all of Brittanée’s books but this one is definitely my fave!! Here’s why…
✨Nate and Amelia were just so lovable, I wanted to wrap them both up in a hug and make them better.
✨I loved getting to see familiar characters like Jack (🤤), Charlotte and Belle.
✨The steam… this is definitely the steamiest book in the series and I am here for it!
I enjoyed this so, so much and would definitely recommend it if you’re looking for a steamy romance with all the feels!
This book recked me and then picked up my broken pieces and put them back together in some beautifully chaotic ways! There was so many emotions overtaking me during the entire book from different things happening not just on the romance storyline; from nate’s relationship with his father, to the many many misunderstandings between nate and amelia, the miscommunication of amelia and jack, the need of a girl squad, loving someone in the most beautiful way (really seeing them, all of them and accepting and choosing to love all of it)… i could carry on but i wont because you should really read this book and i dont want to spoil it even more!!
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
I was lucky to receive this ARC. In this booK we follow Nate and Amelia's story. Brittnee has definitely done it again their story! I have been dying for their story! She Had me giggling With both of their antics, Getting mad With the way they would perceive things from each other, And then also had me swooning at the same time!!! This can definitely be a stand alone, but I know you'll love all the stories 😍😍
Wow!!!! I went into this book completely blind and I’m so glad I did. It was amazing! Brothers best friend is my Favorite trope but it also has second chance and other amazing tropes as well!!! Best of all worlds !
It was a feel good read. Not very spicy at all but that’s ok with me because the story line and plot were amazing!!!!
I can’t wait to read more books from Brittanee ! If you haven’t read this yet get on it cause it is super cute rom-com feels and so worth it !!!! ❤️❤️
This book was so good! You won't want to put it down. Nate and Ameila are the perfect combination of sweet and sexy. Childhood sweethearts, a sexy tattooed musician, and a second chance romance, what more could you ask for? The book has flashbacks, humor, sadness, and love. It was a heartwarming and sexy story and I loved every minute of it!
Everything about this book is perfection!! I knew I was in for a good read because Brittanee Nicole writes such great books, but this one completely blew me away. I was invested from the first page to the very last. The pacing of the book was ideal, with no lags or stretched-out chapters. The transitions from past to present through flashbacks were perfectly timed, adding to the storyline in just the right way.
This book follows the story of Nate and Amelia from their youth to adulthood. Their story is incredibly beautiful and heartbreaking at times. This is a spicy, friends to lovers, small town romance book.
Love and Tequila Make Her Crazy can be read as a standalone, though several characters from previous books make an appearance. This is truly a five star read and from Brittanee Nicole and is now one of my all-time favorite books!
Amelia and Nate have known each other since they were kids. They married in secret and never even told her brother who was Nate’s best friend. From the start we know Nate did something that made her dump him and now he’s back in town with every intention of getting her back. I like how the author tells and shows you their story. It goes from childhood to breakup while being in the present. You really get to understand these two. They certainly had a lot to work through but what an awesome journey. Loved this story and I’m giving it five stars and highly recommending it.
This story made me cry just as much as it made me laugh. I love both Nate and Amelia and their story is so sweet. The flashbacks give you an amazing understanding of who each character is and how they got where they are today.
I enjoyed this book, it’s well written with such emotion and detail. Was the perfect first book to read for the year. Thus book has a great backstory, the love/love and misunderstandings had me completely intrigued. The ending was perfect 😊
"Isn’t that what love is though ? A million little moments that make up your life."
"Not believing that I deserved it, that I was worthy, that I could ever be enough, left walls up that made it impossible for you to penetrate. I should have known better…I should have known that by simply loving you, that was enough."
Amelia and Nate have been best friends and soul mates since they were kids and did everything together since Nate was her brother's best friend. They have been there for each other thru the good and the bad and the absolutely heartbreaking times. However by many miscommunications they haven't seen or spoken to each other in 3 years, Amelia thinks they are divorced, Nate thinks he doesn't deserve her..... will they ever be on the same page?
I received this book in exchange for an honest review thru @katieandbreypa (CHECK THEM OUT!) I knew going into this it was going to be a cutsey chick lit and I loved every minute of it. The spiciness was perfect and didn't drown out the storyline, the characters were easy to relate to. The communication issues drove me up the wall! To be in any sort of healthy relationship I feel like communication is key and they just don't have it! But other then that it was a pretty enjoyable down to earth read!
This book was amazing! Definitely hit right in the feels quiet a few times! There is so much chemistry between Nate and Amelia, you can practically feel the sparks. I loved getting to know teenage and young adult Nate and Amelia as much as present day Nate and Amelia.
