A decent guide that is an easy read and not too deep.
Overall this book was a good guide and probably even more so for people in a secular environment. The book felt like a balancing act of being Catholic-based whilst still trying to appeal to a secular audience. I understand what they're trying to do, but it seems as though they beat around the bush at times in order not to scare people away.
The book does give practical guidelines, as the title suggests, but my primary criticism is that I wish it also gave more practical steps. For example, it would mention the necessity of growth in a certain virtue or communication skill before pursuing a relationship, but not many specific steps to grow in that area or practical steps for pursuing relationships as a whole.
All things considered, this was an easy read and a good reminder of our call for love and selflessness -- specifically in the giving of one's self to a spouse or eventual spouse.
