A cute story about Girl Power! Bonus, Dino Power!
That said, that's probably the weirdest part—ridiculously smart middle-schooler invents everything imaginable, then SUDDENLY PORTAL TO DINOLAND. Where a smart AND friendly T. rex comes to play.
I mean, I should understand this from juvenile superheroes' secret lives, that there's ALWAYS going to be enough internal suspension of disbelief that these children have enough time to do superheroing AND homework AND get sufficient sleep and so on, but the T. rex adds a whole other layer, what with having to FEED A HUGE SECRET DINOSAUR (even IF he behaves).
So, it's a good story after turning off my brain when Devil Dinosaur shows up, and it (somewhat unrealistically) shows how One Girl Can Make a Difference (with help from friends and family). I don't know that I *love* the story as such, but I'm willing to give it the benefit of the doubt for being a positive role model for younger readers.
Recommended for future inventors (whether or not they end up discovering secret time portal devices)!
