For content: 5 stars. Really helped me gain a grasp on my birth chart and how to better incorporate working with the stars and planets into my personal craft. The physical book itself: 3/5 stars. I really hate how the pages ABSORB your finger prints and some of the font colours were a terrible choice for their backgrounds - ie black on dark brown.

Review: Lindsay Squire makes astrology accessible to all in Astrology Magick. Whether you're new to the practice or an experienced follower of the stars, this book takes the complex subject of astrology and breaks it down into easily digestible chunks. Handy diagrams and a conversational writing style add to the book's overall quality. The illustrations by Viki Lester are beautiful and enhance Squire's information.
Each chapter covers a different aspect of astrology--everything from creating a birth chart to how the placement of planets on the chart affect an individual's personality, outlook on life, relationships, and more. Also included are suggestions for tarot readings based on the different zodiac signs. Astrology Magick, regardless of whether or not you practice Wicca/Witchcraft, is by far one of the best resources I've found on the subject, and certainly one of the most approachable.
Astrology has always seemed complicated to me, yet I’ve always been fascinated and drawn to the topic. How can the planets influence our lives and personalities? This book provides detailed answers to all these questions. It introduces all the concepts, explaining what they mean and how they affect us. The book is incredibly comprehensive, with detailed descriptions accompanied by colorful illustrations and pictures, making the content even more engaging and visually appealing. I really love Lindsey Squire’s books because they’re all so wonderfully designed and packed with useful information. However, I must admit, astrology still feels a bit overwhelming to me. While I now understand the concepts and know, for example, which practices are best done during certain time periods or what questions to ask during tarot readings based on zodiac signs, I still can’t interpret my own birth chart. At least not after just one read-through. I find myself staring blankly at the chart the internet generates for me. I’m sure there are those who, after reading this book, will be able to decipher their charts with ease. For me, though, this is a book I’ll keep returning to, flipping through its pages until I finally understand what all the symbols mean on my little horoscope chart. But don’t let this discourage you—it certainly won’t stop me! I’m determined to keep studying both the chart and the book until I figure it all out because astrology is absolutely something that can be learned! That said, if you’re already an expert in astrology, please feel free to reach out and help me decode my chart!
Lindsay Squire began by discussing birth charts, stating that each sign and planet has a very different effect upon your life depending on where they are positioned in your chart. She provides a few of her favorites free online birth-chart calculators, which will require your date of birth, place of birth, and your time of birth to be able to create your chart. She further states that in order to get an accurate birth chart, we should consider using two or three different calculators and compare the results.
The author provides information on how to interpret your birth chart, along with the signs of the zodiac, which she discusses each's house position, associated mantra, modality, polarity, crystals, herbs, spices, positive and negative traits.
Lindsay states that not only can astrology help us unlock hidden parts of ourselves and deepen our understanding of who we are, but it can also be a useful tool in the practice of Witchcraft.
I love the vibrant and colorful illustrations and the use of the elegant fonts are very eye-catching. Good book for beginners.
I loved this book! It perfectly explains everything in an easy to read way! I think it would be great to beginners on the subject but also an amazing resource to have for those who need to double check a quick fact or two. The way this book explain how astrology can help with magick is excellent! It’s giving the information without shoving that belief at the reader. It gives great and useful information for those who might use it to aid their needs. The illustrations are breathtaking! Everyone could be a poster to hang on your wall, for a bookmark, or any type of merchandise for that matter they are absolutely stunning!! The way this book is written and illustrated makes me want to read all the books these two have done together!
This is a really easy to read and understand, beautifully illustrated and simple to follow book on Astrology and the Magickal practices to use alongside it.
I struggle hugely with understanding Astrology, having done various courses and watched YouTube videos, I needed something that laid things about as simply as possible that kept me engaged and that’s exactly what I got in this book.
Everything from the basics to the more complicated aspects are well written out and explained with diagrams and correspondences that are linked to each sign.
Thank you to NetGalley and the publishers Leaping Hare Press for a review copy.
This was a different take to astrology compared to what I've read previously and i found it lacking. It doesn't help the author talks about her chart/signs repeatedly as examples. People picking up this book want to learn more about themselves not about the authors?? Also felt they talked about irrelevant stuff, which would of been better spent broadening some of the other topics discussed as the majority was very vague. Overall disappointing. There are better books out there.
This book didn't really tell me anything new (I have read a lot of books on this topic) but what it did bring, was beautiful aesthetics. The layout and the illustrations in this book are stunning!
This would make a great gift for a beginner, or someone wanting to get into astrology. But for someone that already has some knowledge of the topic, there are probably better books out there.
I enjoyed the breakdown of planets and houses, the tarot spreads and the other planets in retrograde. I was missing the ‘how to do your birth chart’ element. This is a great, concise, colourful book on astrology and how to corporate it into basic magick. I received a copy via NetGalley and all opinions are my own.
This lovely illustrated book details astrological signs, different parts of your birth chart and what they mean and certain "spells" for each sign. The descriptions and explanations are well organized and easy to process. It's colorful illustrations are eye-catching and provide useful and easy to comprehend diagrams. Overall, it's a valuable astrological guide.
This is a fantastic book! I've read a few others by Lindsay Squire and she's a fantastic writer. The information is always laid out in a really accessible fashion and is never confusing to follow. I think it's a great book if you are new to the subject because she goes through all, the information so methodically it's easy to do the steps along with her. The book has beautiful illustrations too (thank you Viki Lester!) and I think it's a lovely addition to any bookshelf.
What a gorgeous little book. Filled with loads of information on both astrology and magic and how these combine using birth charts, crystals, herbs and other appropriate tools. With beautiful, colourful images and an easy reading style this makes a perfect gift for anyone magick / astronomy inclined.
Whilst I would say this is a book good for beginners, I would suggest also doing your own research alongside, as not all the information is correct. For example, my birth month is September and the author said the birth stone for that month was Peridot, when a Google search actually tells you that 99% of websites say it is Sapphire, which I've always known it to be.
Such a well structured, knowledgeable book. I’ve read several ‘astrology books’ and this is one that made it simple yet easy to understand. Beautiful art work in this book. Definitely a must buy and add to the magic shelf
unsure why my review didnt go though the first time but i abostly liked reading this book. 5 star book. found that this book had alot of good information inside the book. but im unsure who to recommend this to as i dont know many that actually read this book.
The illustrations (used as examples of the information) are nice. An introductory book. Pretty easy to read through. Different topics or subjects regarding astrology - like super moons, Chiron, empty houses, planets.
The book is beautiful, it is very colorful and really interesting to read. I don't feel it is a book filled with deep/specific information; however, it does have introductory information about many things.
A good book for beginners and a gorgeous book as the graphic is amazing. Recommended if you are new to the path. Many thanks to the publisher for this arc, all opinions are mine
A parte essere esteticamente bellissimo e organizzato benissimo, l'ho trovato una guida molto utile. È chiaro, piacevole. Lo tengo sempre con me per consultarlo ogni giorno.
4.25☆ Although this isn't really what I expected, it has plentiful information and insight to help with understanding your birth chart. And the editing was so much better on this one!
While I am not big into astrology, I picked this book up because I have read Squire’s previous books and really enjoyed them. This book breaks down birth charts and how they can be used to guide your craft. I actually found this really interesting and want to break down my own birth chart now. This is definitely a book that is better to have a physical copy of because I keep wanting to jump back to reference previous chapters. Also, I wish the author had provided the links to her preferred birth chart creators in the very beginning, not in the conclusion, since that is the main focus of this book.
Me gustan la sencillez y las ilustraciones de esta serie de libros. La astrología nos ayuda mucho en la relajación y la sanación personales, siempre teniendo en cuenta el equilibrio entre la realidad y la mágia.
