Lazy Dragon Queen #2

Lazy Dragon Queen: A Cozy Harem LitRPG

Rate this book
Window here! You know, if you're reading this without first reading the first volume, then me saying "Window here!" probably won't mean anything to you and this synopsis will be confusing to any new readers. Oh well. Go start from book one if you're new. For existing readers, synopsis time! Ahem. This is a harem series, right? That obviously means there needs to be more waifus added to it. The first volume only had a single girl added to the harem! And that's only if you're not counting me, which you probably aren't. Yet. Anyways, that's why we're getting three whole, new girlfriends added to the harem this time! I wonder who they could possibly be and what sort of girls they're going to be like! The book cover is definitely not a spoiler, nope, not at all! But uh, there's not much for me to say other than that. It's Lazy Dragon Queen. It's everything you liked from the first volume but more of it. A lot more of it. Now with even more waifus. More me. More "litrpg" elements that aren't really taken seriously at all. Anyways, buy the book and bask in my glory. Window, out!

Great! Even better than the previous novel

This one was a really great read. About twice as long page wise as the previous volume, and with a lot more happening. Thankfully less dialogue cul-de-sac's, which I wasn't super fond of in the first volume.

While there are definitely points in which the banter becomes too much and takes me out of it, that feeling was much less prevalent in this volume than it was in the last.

For critique: Window is great but I found myself dreading seeing her text box pop up, because every time it did I knew there was going to be a very long and drawn out comedy duo scene. In moderation they're quite good, but I think the author still needs a bit more fine tuning before they get the dosage right. Still a bit too high.

Regardless, enjoyed the book immensely, good wholesome fun, and have already pre-ordered the next book.

Book 1 was an example of "so bad it's actually good", and I enjoyed it, and had high hopes for where the series was going.

This book is more an example of "so bad it's...bad". It wasn't terrible, but it was pretty hit or miss, and the promise I saw in book 1 is absolutely not realised.

The author seems to be doubling down on the weaker elements of the story, and skipping the bits that (to my mind) made it good.

If you didn't like book 1, I highly doubt you'll like this one. If you did like book 1, you might like this one...or not; it really depends on what appealed to you.

A miss for me, but (based on reviews) clearly many other people like it.
