Creative and fun while also being informative! Nice little illustrated guide/journal to Portland, OR with many activity and journaling prompts to follow while exploring the city.
However, that being said, if you're looking for a more 'traditional' travel guide that has a lot more detailed information and goes into more depth, I wouldn't necessarily recommend this as there isn't a great deal of that to be found. I feel like this is more meant to help create memories and is just a fun and creative way to document a trip to Portland.
*Please note: I won a print copy of this book through Goodreads Giveaway and I am showing my appreciation with an honest review. All opinions are my own and uninfluenced and unbiased.*

Overall, this is a great concept. Part tourist guide, part travel journal. The art within the book is great. I enjoyed learning more about Portland and now have some ideas of places I want to visit while there.
I am not one for travel journals, personally. But for those that are, this is a great option. I also think it could be a lot of fun for creative teens who are traveling, so they can find ways to be more interactive during their trip.

I wish I had a book like this when I traveled cross country years ago with my children! What a fun way to learn about some of the people and history that made Portland what it is today. Besides history, you learn about popular tourist attractions as well as lesser known fun and interesting things to do in Portland (the Vaux Swift bird roosting at Chapman Elementary- very cool). Even if you not visiting, I recommend this if you’re interested in the history of Portland!

If you are looking for a travel guide that is a mixture of bite sized facts and journaling, this is the book for you. I thought the prompts were interesting and the illustrations very well done. However, this is not the book if you are looking for detailed information or accurate maps. Portland has been on my list of places to go and this book made it go higher!
