This is 2nd book by Trana dat i ve read & would be happy to say she did a very good job ...didnt disappoint & i found dis better den" Bittersweet Promises "...i loved d book

the author Trana has a good grip on d storyline ...always keeps d reader interested & on hooks ...she grabs ur attention with her presentation dat u just wouldn't put down a book ....both d characters of Storm & jessica r bold, dynamic, daring., self reliant , sensible, ....also i like d character of Trana's heroine as dey come across as strong women fighting against all odds to survive in a men oriented society...

I love Trana Mae Simmons' writing and I thoroughly enjoyed this book. The heroine, Jessica Callaghan, was referred to as a "spitfire" and a "wildcat," and she i feisty, complex and totally believable. The plot was engrossing and grabbed me from the first page. I loved the idea that Jessica was on a mission to find lost gold to maintain the ranch and she wasn't going to let anything stand in her way...
The romance element in this book is sensuous and the chemistry between Jessica and Storm is unmistakable. Also commendable is D detailed description & research done by Trana on Montana is Admirable as i could visualize Montana as i read on ...

This was a good paced, all action story. Jessica was certainly a plucky woman, there didn’t seem anything she wouldn’t try. When she met Storm they had this instant connection. However, there are many things in their way to a possible happy ending and some secrets to uncover. There are a couple of villains to add interest. This was an entertaining story that kept my interest to the end as I wasn’t sure how exact it would pan out. My only negative was, no epilogue, I do like to know how things worked out. I received a copy via eBooks Discovery and have voluntarily reviewed it. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Action Packed Western

Fast action, ghost and mysterious characters spice up this romance as a feisty independent cowgirl faces challenges in the West. A fun, enjoyable read.

In this well written, fast-paced Western romance, the reader is drawn into the action as Jessica goes after her inheritance. Despite her strong personality, she still has problems with the men in her life, who feel that because she is a woman she doesn't have the ability to make her own decisions. Her initial meeting with Storm takes her by surprise and in subsequent encounters she finds herself questioning her feelings. Arriving in Baker's Valley, Jessica discovers that there is an underlying evil and the whole town is under the power of two bullies. Jessica refuses to buckle under their threats and as bullets start to fly and secrets are exposed, Jessica and Storm realise that there is a whole new can of worms that has to be dealt with. Rescue comes from a surprising quarter and Storm begins to realise that good Western woman just can't be restrained. I received this book for free from eBook Discovery. A really tangled mess but a great read!
With a terrible lost comes a chance for an adventure and a treasure to find but where, at Little Big Horn. The story takes place a few years after the horrible event that occurred there. I can understand how some of the characters felt it was a spooky place. I have been there a number of times and for me it has an oppressive feel. Jessica needs the money for her ranch and her uncle had given her a clue before his passing. The story gets super interesting right when Jessica and her men get to Little Big Horn. Full of suspense this well written tale hooked me right from the start. The action in this book will keep you jumping and on the edge of your seat. I really enjoyed reading this story. Western Romances are a wide field from Mail Order Brides to more complex books. Trana Mae Simmons belongs at this end of the spectrum. The story is well written with rounded and interesting leads and good secondary characters and an interesting plot lines with some good surprising twists, without defying probability. I particularly like the well-researched details that showed a lot of research, but a writing style that did not let the details distract from the story. Much to be recommended.

Dialog distracting

Story line is good but the hero keeps repeating his pet name for the heroin over
and over again. "Pretty lady" this and that, okay we get it. He thinks Jessie is a looker. Simmons needs to get another beta reader and/or editor.

Fix that and add a little more heat , I would give this book 5 stars.

Lots of Action

This story is full of cowboy action. It goes from one harrowing scene to another nonstop. If you like fast moving stories with plenty of western style action and a love story or two, you'll enjoy this story.

It wasn't bad but there were so many side plots and the MCs barely knew each other at this point. Maybe I will revisit this one.

I kept this book by my bed when I was 13, I had been reading romance novels for years. This one stuck out in my mind because I reread it probably 4 times in the 2 years I had a copy of it. I always found the term of endearment "pretty lady" entertaining, and silly but I liked it. My favorite line from a romance novel came from this book. "I'm making you happy..." said in the middle of sex. I don't know why that has stuck in my mind after all these years but it has, isn't making you happy what sex is suppose to do?

Light read for a western.

A tiny woman turns the fierce Texan Ranger's life upside down. While doing this she jumpstarts the town's expansion, digs up family skeletons and takes a neglected child into her heart.
