Reuben gets his second chance at love, with his daughter Plum at his side.

My wife died in a tragic accident when our daughter was just a year old. After losing her, I never thought I would love again. It’s been four years and my little girl is my whole world now.

When I meet Meadow, a musician in a traveling band, my heart grows in ways I didn’t think possible.

I can see it all -- a life with this fair-haired beauty who sings songs that sweep me away. I’d forgotten how good life could be. Meadow reminds me that there is more beauty to be seen. More living to be had.

But she is just passing through Home, WA. Her family has been on the road together for years and they need her.

Walking away from her life for us is more than I can ask.

Losing her is more than my heart can bear.

I don’t want her to choose -- but damn, I want her to stay.

Coming Home to the Mountain is a new filthy-sweet, high heat series by Frankie Love featuring rugged mountain men who fall hard, fast and forever. And with the women they love at their side, they choose to put family first.

In this series, Dad shows up, sisters remember to call, big brothers always look out for you, and Mom knows to keep an extra seat at the table for Sunday dinner. Not every family is perfect -- and the Rough family has its own set of problems -- but at the end of the day, they know what matters: Coming Home.

Rough and Tumble !!

I hope everyone has a fabulous holiday weekend. But on another note Frankie can write y’all !! This series has been sickly sweet and I love it. I wish that I could read more sweet romance like this with instalove and not so much rah all the time. This has light drama and that was also a treat.

But let’s get to the details our MC is a one of the Rough boys. Reuben has been single since his late wife passed 4 years ago. He’s a single father and he isn’t on the hunt for love but lately he’s feeling kind of lonely. Like maybe this life he’s living is not the one he expected and it might just be time for something new.

A chance encounter with Meadow in the woods may be just what the doctor ordered and he’s her Knight and Shining Armor. This was a fast romance with all the stars aligning in their favor. There was baby making and kissing and just an overall feel good to this book.

Happy reading everyone. If you haven’t maybe give this cute little series a try.

After the sudden and tragic death of his wife Reuben has focused all his love on his daughter Plum. He wasn’t sure that he was ready to open up his heart to another woman until Meadow came into his life.

Meadow and her family are enjoying a week of respite in Home before their resume their musical tour. A walk in the woods leads to a sprain ankle and being rescued by Reuben where she realizes that their meeting wasn’t chance but destiny.

Reuben and Meadow give each other exactly what was missing in their lives, and they have so much in common including their large and supportive families.

Couldn'r even finish it

Okay, so I was looking forward to this book cause Reuben seemed the most likable from the other books. However, I got a couple chapters in & got so annoyed that it ruined the series for me & I don't care about anyone else. The books are okay. Not great, not even good but they are okay & even though they are basically the same book with just different main characters falling in love with someone who didn't feel worthy or had baggage of some kind. I still committed to read the series once I started cause that's what I do. So, with the books being okay & basically the same the little things bother me more. In this case, the writer must not remember what happened when in the previous books. Example: Fig & her mother went on the big trip they planned for the spring break of her senior year in the previous book & it was in April cause it was Lemon's birthday. Forget the whole sitting outside in early April in a bikini when it's probably too cold for that in Washington State - I chalked that up to enhancing the story. Anyway, Lemon & Anchor get married July 4th at the lake where they met & their lake houses meaning Fig would have graduated already in June - prior to the wedding. This book Lemon's mom is asking about grandkids from Lemon & Anchor cause even though her 2 brothers have been married longer, she asks the newest one about it. Lemon says they've only been married a month making it the beginning of August. Except it's not according to the book. It's spring & Fig hasn't graduated yet. That makes no sense. I get she's trying to draw it out cause Fig says she's leaving after she graduates but it's either really bad writing or really bad comprehension of your own stories. There are things during the 1st 3 books that made no sense but it was blurred in a way that you can kind of let it go but this is a stated timeline & she got it wrong. Could Reuben have met Meadow while Lemon & Anchor were planning their wedding - thus making it fit the timeline she's trying to weave - they sure could have & it would have been okay cause you don't know anything about those months from April to July with Lemon & Anchor but this book takes place a month after their wedding and yet it's spring & not even summer & Fig still hasn't graduated. It ruined it cause I was already getting annoyed with the repetitive nature of the books. Even the annoying "let's stop in the middle of sex to have a meaning of our relationship talk or about our biggest fears but manage to stay completely turned on. Like this family doesn't shut up even during sex & manages to find people who do the same thing. So, no I didn't finish & I'm not reading about the others.

No place like Home
This book is about Reuben and Meadow. He’s a young, single Dad to Plum. He lost his wife Beth a few years ago and while his family has been incredibly supportive through their mutual grief and helping to bring up his daughter, Reuben feels he might be ready for more. When he and Plum are at a diner in town, they both spot a couple of brightly-painted RV’s drive by with ‘The Wild Family Band’ on their sides. A woman with Rapunzel-like, flowing blonde hair grabs both of their attention.
Meadow is in town with her family for a week’s holiday. Their two RV’s are packed to the brim with her, her sister Lulu, her older brother Nate, his wife Jessica, her parents, and her triplet teenage brothers Jonathon, Jasper and Jonas. Lulu spots a tarot store on their way through Home and gives Meadow a quick reading in the van. She says something about a tree and stone fruit, which both girls find a little odd. But that certainly becomes a tell-tale sign of perhaps what was meant to be.
Reuben and Meadow meet as she sprains her ankle in the woods not far from his cottage home. There’s an instant attraction there, along with an undeniable and unexpected chemistry. They fall hard and fast, though not without concerns from both sides of their families. But everything just aligns perfectly. It’s like a real-life fairytale.
It’s emotional, sweet and passionate, and just warmed my heart. And it’s always lovely to catch up with the Rough’s and their large family. There’s never a dull moment, and there’s always just so much love for everyone. I can’t wait to see how Graham’s love story with Ginger pans out next. I give this book four and three quarter emotional stars.

Rough Patch is book four in the interconnected Coming Home To Mountain series by Frankie Love. I didn't read the earlier books in the series and had no problem following the storyline but, it did make me curious to go back to read the other books.

Rough Patch is a sweet story about widower & single father Reuben, who made me swoon, and Meadow, who travels with her family as a band. It's insta-love between this couple. They both are in the same place about where they want to take their relationship, there is only one thing blocking their path.
Meadow and Reuben have great chemistry and connection. They are such a sweet couple.
While Reuben's daughter immediately fell in love with Meadow, I would love a scene with the two spending some time alone.

For me, this story was less steamy than some of the other books I've read by Frankie Love. The steamy scenes are filled with love and passion, and they are well-built and descriptive. Meadow is a virgin, but it was not something that got treated as a prized possession, nor did the author word it in a cliché way.

In the real world, families aren't perfect, but in this world, they are, and I absolutely loved it. The world would be a better place if every family would act a little more like the ones in this story.

Rough Patch gave me all the fairytale vibes. It was sweet and swoony with a bit of heat.

The fourth book in Frankie Love's spectacular Coming Home to the Mountains series is Reuben and Meadow's (...and Plum's) story. Four years after being widowed at nineteen with a year-old baby, Reuben is ready for love again after watching three of his six siblings fall and fall hard the past year. His daughter Plum is the light of his life, but even she thinks he needs a princess. Enter Meadow - a gypsy who has spent her life traveling with her large family performing in the family band. As the Wilds vacation in Home for the week, Meadow goes for a hike in the woods and ends up falling and spraining her ankle - where Reuben comes upon her. From the moment they meet, there is a powerful, passionate connection between them. But can you really find your soulmate in the blink of an eye?

A beautiful, emotional, single dad / instalove romance that will give you all the feels. I was already in love with the Rough family, having read the preceding books in the series, but Reuben's story just made me love them more. Plum is the cutest five year old, and the remaining supporting cast are just wonderful.

This is a definite must-read!

This is book four in The Coming Home To The Mountains Series and it is Meadow and Reuben's story and wow it is definitely a must read. Reuben is a single father after his wife died in a car accident and his daughter Plum is his whole world but lately he feels like something is missing and that is when he meets Meadow and the attraction is instant. Meadow is a musician with her family and they always seem to be on the road and they decide to take a break when Meadow ends up with a sprained ankle after taking a call and it is Reuben that finds her and makes sure that she is alright. This is such a beautiful, sweet and emotional story and I couldn't put it down and read it in one sitting as I had to keep turning the pages to see how there story would end and the connection and chemistry between them was not only instant but strong and this book was so addictive and I can't wait to read more book's in the future.

This is the fourth book in the Coming Home to the Mountain series. I can be read as a standalone but it is connected to the other books. You can't help but love the rough family. They are fun, boisterous, they love and respect each other and always there for each other when needed. Reuben is a single dad to his five-year-old daughter Plum. He lost his wife four years ago and while he loves his daughter, watching his brothers and sister fall in love he feels that lack of companionship. Meadow is in town for the week on vacation with her family. They area family band and are constantly on the move. When Meadow pulls into the town of Home, she feels like she belongs. She longs for roots, a place to call home and it possible she could find it with Reuben and Plum. Sweet, steamy, heartwarming story guaranteed to make you smile. I love this series and look forward to the next book in the series.

A beautiful second chance romance. Rueben lost his first wife in a tragic accident and was left to raise his daughter Plum with the help of his family. He’s not looking for love but when he rescues Meadow on the mountain, he feels something unexpected. Meadow has lead a fairly sheltered life being homeschooled and being part of her family’s travelling band. She feels she needs a change and wants something more out of life. The connection between Meadow and Rueben is instantaneous and chemistry between them is palpable but there’s Plum to consider and the fact that Meadow and her family are leaving town in a few days. This was another engaging story in this series. Both characters come from large families and embrace the closeness they have with their families. Meadow and Rueben are great together and with Plum their family unit is one filled with love and a peace of being home. I received an arc copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

I received this book with the understanding that I could leave a voluntary and honest review.

In this book we get Reuben Rough's story and are introduced to Meadow Wild. Can two people who will only have a short time together really feel like they meet their one? Reuben has had a rough (no pun intended) time over the years. He was young when he married his wife and young when he lost her. Plum is his one thing he has held onto over the years. Meadow is part of a traveling band but longs for a place that is home to her. From the first moment she sees Reuben's cabin she knows she has found that place. What happens though if when the week is up they are separated? Will it be the end of them or just the beginning?

Another amazing story in this series. Once you start you will not be able to put it down. I would highly recommend it to anyone and everyone.

I’ve loved this entire series but I struggled a little with this one. I’m not good with second chance romance and especially not when the hero’s first wife dies. I read this as I loved Reuben from the previous stories. This was well written and sweet. They was great chemistry and steamy scenes but I didn’t like the fact that Reubens first wife was written throughout the book and his love for her seemed to take away a little from the story between him and Meadow in my opinion.
Meadow traveled to Home with her family on vacation. They were a travelling band. When she sprained her ankle and got lost in the woods Reuben found her. He cared for her and took her to safety. They had instantaneous feelings for each other and their relationship was sweet, loving and caring. The HEA was beautiful.

Reuben has been on his own with his daughter for the last 4 years since his wife died, he hasn't been able to bring himself to date anyone. But maybe it is finally time for him to find someone else to love.
Meadow travels with her musical family in an RV, they are finally taking a vacation from their performing and end up in Home, Reuben's town.
After tripping in the woods, Meadow is found and rescued by Reuben. They have an instant attraction to each other, but is their relationship moving too fast or is this exactly what they both need.

I loved this story, it is as good as the rest of the series. I would recommend reading this book and the others.

This is the 4th book in the series, I cannot wait to read the rest.

I am LOVING this series about the Rough family. Each book can be read as a standalone but since it’s about a family, it’s enjoyed best when you read them all together. This book is about Reuben, a single father and widower who finds his second chance at love. When Meadow and her family come to town on vacation, she feels instantly right at home. Except when she gets lost in the woods. Luckily Reuben is there to sweep her off her feet and save her. I loved how they kept referring to her as Rapunzel, that was a lot of fun. There is also steam and instalove between these great characters. Everything about this book made it a fantastic read: terrific characters, a sweet story, an adorable little girl, a close family, and a beautiful ending.

Meadow and her family are taking a break from singing gigs to rest in Home. She gets lost in the woods and twists her ankle and that's how she meets Reuben. Reuben remembers seeing her when she was driving through town and had her head out the window of her RV. Sparks fly between them and they want to spend more time together. When Meadow meets Reuben's daughter Plum they get along famously. Its not long before both Reuben and Meadow don't want her to leave. Will she stay with Reuben when her family leaves? Can they have a future together?

This is an amazing story that once I started it I couldn't put it down. This is a well written and very entertaining story. I would recommend this book to any book lover.

This is the fourth in a series but can be read as a standalone. It is a great little love story. Reuben's wife was killed in a car accident four years ago and now Reuben is busy raising his daughter Plum with a little help from his family. He is doing a great job with his daughter but he also feels something is missing. Out for walk in the woods behind his house he hears a scream and finds a beautiful woman. Meadow is sitting in the woods after a fall with a sprained ankle. Reuben finally realizes what he needs and it is Meadow. This is a fast paced sweet and steamy love story that keeps you happy until the very end. It's a great feel good book all the way through. Loved it.

This is book number 4 of the Coming Home to the Mountain series and focuses on Reuben and Meadow. Reuben is a single father to an adorable daughter Plum after the death of his wife a few years prior. Since her death, he has put all of his love and dedication into raising his daughter but when he meets Meadow, he discovers that he has found the person he wants to have his second chance at a happily ever after with. They both fall for each other quickly and fit in perfectly with each other's families. I loved how great they were for each other and seamlessly blended together as a family. This was a great addition to the series.

Reuben is twenty three and widower with a five year old daughter named Plum. He lost his wife in a car accident four years ago, in that first year his family helped thru the pain and grief of loosing his wife and being the sole caretaker for his daughter.

When he meets Meadow, he saves her when she is stranded in the forest with a sprained ankle, his heart starts beating a little faster. She is just passing thru, her family is a traveling band. Can she be convinced to stay? Meadow has enjoyed life on the road with her family, but she has always wanted a place to call her own.

This is sweet story about Rueben finding love again, a perfect addition to the series.

Yet another insta-love one *sigh.* I had really hoped after the last book that the author would change it up and at least make it believable. But nope, Reuben professes his love the same day he meets Meadow. I liked both characters well enough, but yeah, wasn't feeling any love connection with them in that short amount of time. I agree to his parents reaction on this one, how could he fall in love with someone he just met, especially after he lost his first wife 4 years ago (the author made sure to bring her up every chance she got, which was also annoying).

Plum was cute as always.

Cover is terrible - these are supposedly 22/23 year olds, yet the cover models look late 20s or early 30s at best.

I received an ARC from the author and am voluntarily leaving my review. Welcome back Home, this is Reuben and Plum's chance at making their family complete. Meadow might just be passing thru initially with her family. She truly finds her home though and it's right where she should be. Reuben had given all of his love to Plum. He deserved to be loved also. I enjoyed their story. It was full of heart, funny when needed with passionate too. The characters, including their sweet little Plum, were done well. It was short but a good love story nonetheless.

I love the premise of this book: there’s always a solution to problems, family first, true love exists. This book is the very reason that I read, to escape into an idealistic world. I enjoyed that both families were totally involved with the main characters.
Reuben is a single dad to his daughter, Plum. Meadow is in a traveling band with her family. Once Reuben and Meadow meet, they both fall for each other. Plum is also taken with Meadow. Seems like they would not have any problems, right? Well, they actually do have some challenges to overcome.

I loved this latest story by Frankie Love. I couldn’t put it down. I have really enjoyed this series by her. I loved seeing Reuben and Meadow find each other. Reuben loved his little girl and their life. He doesn’t think he needs anyone to share it with but fate has other plans. Meadow has grown up in a family traveling band. They are in Home for a week vacation. For the first time, she has felt like she belonged somewhere. They meet in the woods and they felt a connection. What will happen when her vacation ends?

Reuben is a single dad, who has not been on a date in four years. He has made his daughter his world. Meadow grew up in the family business, as a musician she has been traveling around the country. When her family decided to take a week break in Home, Meadow too full advantage and explored the town.

While on a hike Meadow sprained her ankle, Reuben was able to come to her rescue. This is a sweet story that grabs onto your heart and holds on tight as Reuben and Meadow decide to follow their hearts.

She smooths his rough edges

Rough Patch is the fourth book in the Coming Home to the Mountain series. I really loved this story about single father Reuben Rough and the surprising Meadow. Reuben has been concentrating on raising his sweet daughter Plum since his wife was killed in a car accident four years ago. They have a routine which works well but that is about to get tossed out with just one scream. Reuben and Meadow are wonderful together and then add in sweet Plum and everything is just better. The story is sweet, spicy, a bit naughty and a lot heartwarming. A perfect mix to make you smile and put a spark in your day.

This couple was the cutest. Both Reuben and Meadow are from a big family so it makes the story full of life and warmth with all the characters. Meadow’s family is a travel band and decided to stop in Home for a vacation. Reuben has been a single father for a couple years after losing his wife in an accident. When Reuben finds and ends up helping Meadow after her stumble in the woods, they hit it off and fall quickly in love.

I really enjoyed this latest book in the Coming Home To The Mountain Series. This book focuses on Rueben; the single father of Plum and Meadow the woman who captures his heart. Plum was so adorable. She believes Meadow looks just like a princes when they see her driving by in her family's RV and thinks her dad needs a princess of his own. I like how Rueben and Meadow have large families in common and love them deeply. Meadow is ready for a change. She likes preforming with her family in their band but she is ready to find a place she can call her own. This was such an entertaining read and I loved the HEA.

I am obsessed with this series starting from each book cover.
The last three books have been building up to this story, i feel, and I was happy when it came out.
Ruben is a widower with a daughter who is well-loved in the family and in town.
He noticed a family in an RV and a girl with long blonde hair and even Plum was intrigued by her.
And a few days later she wound up in the woods behind his house.
Fate? Maybe.
But she travels with her family.
The is a big problem as he's rooted in his community.
Or is it?
SUCH A SWEET BOOK!!

After the death of his wife and the mother of his daughter Plum Reuben never expected to find love again until he meets Meadow. Meadow is a musician and part of a traveling band. When Meadow meets Reuben, Plum, and the cabin she knows she's found home. This is a sweet, beautiful love story about two people finding love and something they didn't know they were missing, a home. The writing is well done, the characters are believable and the ending is heartwarming. I voluntarily reviewed a copy of this book.

Reuben Rough is a 23 yr. old widower with a 5 year old daughter. Life as a single dad is tough at times, but his family is there for him always. Meadow Wild travels with her family band, but meets Reuben and he is smitten. They both fall for each other and even his daughter, Plum is taken with Meadow as well. But Meadow is a part of her family's traveling band, can she settle down with Reuben and Plum? The book is fast paced, sizzling, steamy, has a bit of drama and more.
